Thanks, Kmarie, However, since that was in 2009 do you think Dr. Wymore will update any of this information this year? Since we hear from him so rarely, perhaps he could enlighten us with any new theories? Blessings, CTBarb

Hi Barb, Dr. Wymore breaks down the fibers from Mass Spectrometry and the Electron Microscope in this interview which is why I posted it from the other thread: (Baclovirus). Violet suggested that we listen for ourselves to Dr.Wymore because she didn't think it was fair to share the DVD's with a sort of "loan program" to all the morgies who are interested in watching and unable to obtain the DVD. This interview with Dr. Wymore took place after after Conference #2. Unless, someone has new information from Conference #3, --This is the best I could find from Dr. Wymore and the fiber DNA discussion. Gwen/Sunny didn't add anything from the Conference #3 except that Dr. Wymore said agrobacteria had nothing to do with this. These radio hosts did ask Dr. Wymore some good scientific questions about the fibers!Wymore said: ---- hyrdrocarbons, carbon, methyl groups, and more. ----------------------------------------------------- The Mass Spectrometer In order to measure the characteristics of individual molecules, a mass spectrometer converts them to ions so that they can be moved about and manipulated by external electric and magnetic fields. The three essential functions of a mass spectrometer, and the associated components, are: 1. A small sample is ionized, usually to cations by loss of an electron. The Ion Source 2. The ions are sorted and separated according to their mass and charge. The Mass Analyzer 3. The separated ions are then measured, and the results displayed on a chart. The Detector Because ions are very reactive and short-lived, their formation and manipulation must be conducted in a vacuum. Atmospheric pressure is around 760 torr (mm of mercury). The pressure under which ions may be handled is roughly 10-5 to 10-8 torr (less than a billionth of an atmosphere). Each of the three tasks listed above may be accomplished in different ways. In one common procedure, ionization is effected by a high energy beam of electrons, and ion separation is achieved by accelerating and focusing the ions in a beam, which is then bent by an external magnetic field. The ions are then detected electronically and the resulting information is stored and analyzed in a computer. The heart of the spectrometer is the ion source. Here molecules of the sample (black dots) are bombarded by electrons (light blue lines) issuing from a heated filament. This is called an EI (electron-impact) source. Gases and volatile liquid samples are allowed to leak into the ion source from a reservoir (as shown). Non-volatile solids and liquids may be introduced directly. Cations formed by the electron bombardment (red dots) are pushed away by a charged repeller plate (anions are attracted to it), and accelerated toward other electrodes, having slits through which the ions pass as a beam. Some of these ions fragment into smaller cations and neutral fragments. A perpendicular magnetic field deflects the ion beam in an arc whose radius is inversely proportional to the mass of each ion. Lighter ions are deflected more than heavier ions. By varying the strength of the magnetic field, ions of different mass can be focused progressively on a detector fixed at the end of a curved tube (also under a high vacuum). www2.chemistry.msu.edu/faculty/reusch/VirtTxtJml/Spectrpy/MassSpec/masspec1.htm.

I haven't heard Wymore talk in a while. It was nice listening to these two interviews.
I still think, after all these years that the fibers are produced by fluke reproduction because we know the fibers are directly related to the chains! ;D

Um, that is somewhat how I stated it, KMar, but not quite. What I actually said was that I had thought of the idea of sharing the DVDs but didn't think it would be fair to the people who had worked so hard to put them together for everyone's benefit. I suggest getting the DVDs because they could help everyone see where the research stands from the several speakers who either are trying to treat or research Morgellons and/or who have had morgellons themselves. One idea I thought about, KMar, is that it seems that many on this board who have morgellons also smoke. Would it be viable to consider giving up over a few weeks the number of packs of cigarettes it would take to buy the CDs? Sure seems like something that could help smokers' health as well as also provide a way to pay for the CDs. Remember, too, that the cost of the DCs goes toward Dr. Wymore's hiring a research assistant.

In the new ones from 2010, he has done blast DNA which I understand is a very sophisticated way of testing the fibers...and he actually had it done on all kinds of debris found from lesions.

I believe Dr. Wymore tells us what the fibers are composed of - he is speaking in a round-about way what he probably cannot say directly, I see two signatures so far, we might wonder if there are more than two, I think so, like a collaborative effort? I was on the other site, Kmar - where you posted the 2009 videos, see video number 2... it is a visual. Kammy, #2? Are you talking about the radio interview with Dr. Wymore from May 30, 2009? Here: www.youtube.com/v/E0D_Ki--fPIOr the 2nd video from the online conference presentations? The 2nd one is from Mark Darrah and yes it does have visuals.

Hi, KMar: I wasn't laughing about anything except rhorn's statement--the way he said it, not what he said. He has a subtle humor sometimes, and that is what I was laughing at. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I can see how you could interpret it differently. Take care, and have a nice evening.

I'm reading a statement from Rhorn that found Dr. Wymore's interview very interesting and that it's always good to hear proof that the fibers are not just sweater lint. ---- (Period) and that is all he said? From my standpoint, your statement was "laughing out loud" (LOL) because what Rhorn heard from Dr. Wymore was old and that the 2010 Dvd's ( which you have) contains so much more information per your comment. Most of us here have not seen the 2010 DVD's and are unable to obtain them. Therefore; your comment was nothing to (LOL) at. It was more like "taunting" that you had the most recent news and others didn't. I'm sorry, but I simply don't see ANY humor in Rhorn's very simple clear comment after he listened to Dr. Wymore's radio interview.

Since you don't know me, there is no way for you to know that taunting is not something I ever do. It is so against the way I live. To me, it's in the same category as sarcasm, which I detest. I've never appreciated people mistreating each other in either of those ways. This was truly a misunderstanding. I do understand that you don't see what is humorous about it. We just look at it differently. And rhorn, if I owe you an apology in the case you were not kidding (even a little), then please accept my apology to you, too. Because I've always enjoyed your humor--subtle or other--I could just picture you saying what you did with a little humorous edge to it. Okay. That's all I can say. Peace.

Ladies,,, please don't argue. No offense taken Violet. You got it as it was meant.. Your right there was a little underlying sarcastic humor at the very end.. Please let me clarify to you both what I meant. I posted "Dr Wymore's interview was very interesting.. It's always good to hear someone of science saying that our fibers are not just sweater lint.." Most of that statement was sincere and meant to give recognition to Dr Wymore, for his efforts and speaking up for all of us with morgellons, trying to clearly establish that our disease as a real one, and nothing to be ignored. Violet was talking about the very last part of my statement being my underlying sarcastic humor,, something I tend to do quite often, when I get the chance At the end where I said "our fibers are not just sweater lint" was (as Violet understood it to be) a sarcastic jab at all of those ignorant self-inflated so-called know-it-all doctors that get on TV and say "Morgellons is a delusional condition!! Those fibers that people claim are coming out of there skin is nothing more than sweater lint!!" Something that I think we are all sick of hearing.. K,, I am sorry for the misunderstanding,, I meant no offense to anyone but those no-nothing TV doctors.. My attempts at humor "and or" jabs of sarcasm, tends to be a little underlying at times, but never directed at anyone with this horrid condition...

I use sarcasm all the time, it's a writing tool, I think it's an extension of humor? - of course, I never use it on anybody - just on situations... sorry if it gets on anybody's nerves... hehe

Well, all I can say right now is that I love you all.
And that I've learned through this that there are certain kinds of sarcasm that I do indeed like, the kind like yours, rhorn. I think maybe what my hangup is about sarcasm is when it's against someone personally. It just doesn't do either the giver or the receiver any good. And yes, Kammy, I can see it used as an extension of humor, as well, when it's not directed at somebody personally. :-)
And Rhorn, thanks so much for your post.
Am glad we are all at peace once again.

Hey Kmarie...what are you saying here... What if God was a Morgie? Hey Carrie, Yes, that IS what I was asking Violet. I understood this comment "below" from Violet ( a Christian) laughing at the fact that she had in her possession the 2010 DVD's. Violet previously stated that she felt it would not be fair to share them with fellow morgies who are less fortunate with a "loan" type program allowing others to view and learn the new information. If God was a morgie, would Violet loan these 2010 Dvd's to him? So....Yes, Carrie --- that is what I was asking a Christian. LOL, r! :-) These videos are two years old. In the new ones from 2010, he has done blast DNA which I understand is a very sophisticated way of testing the fibers...and he actually had it done on all kinds of debris found from lesions. Violet has since stated that I completely misunderstood her comment above and that she was not laughing (LOL) because Rhorn had listened to an older interview. If that was the case, then why mention the 2010 DVD's that she states contain more information? However; I understand it exactly as it was written.
