Call to scientists and clinicians « Thread Started on Jun 24, 2006, 12:35am »
Dear Colleagues,
I propose that we come together and on a separate board to discuss the various theories and protocols and see if through our contacts and institutions we work for, conduct our own research on this problem.
Anyone who is interested who has a degree in molecular biology, genetics, genetic engineering, molecular biology, agricultural genetics, bioweapons development, microbiology, or access to laboratories or individuals with clinical experience or scientific expertise can pm me about creating a new forum. The names of the members of this group would be kept confidential and the site would be private so that only members would have access.
We can report our work back to this board and similar boards on a regular basis so as to keep people informed of what we are doing. The idea here is start and utilize the professional expertise that exists among fellow morg sufferers and interested parties to work on this problem. I think that it is going to be a while before the research institutions work out this out. Being a private group with no agenda but to get to the bottom of this story we may be able to move forward more quickly. Collectively I think we more then likely have access to the neccessary equipment and expertise to do the basic research.
We may also be able to get some private funding from fellow sufferers who are viewing everything from the sidelines. I would bet there are people here who have some deep pockets and would like to fund a private research effort that is streamlined and does not have other issues to work on.
This would not be for individuals who just want to speculate on what is going on or people looking for help as the board we are already on provides that service but for professionals only in the medical and scientific fields who are willing to work together in the spirit of cooperation on a joint effort.
This would not be for people who want to grandstand there own theories or just run there egos around. It would be for people who have an open mind and want to test and apply the theories presented by other professionals without bias and destructive criticism.
So if you are interested please pm me with your background and expertise and I will give you my email so we can discuss this further.
Regards Dr. Rick B
PS: Please don't reply to this post just pm me. I would like to keep this post free of any off topic materials, theories, discussions, etc. Thanks
One important point is that we would entertain all plausible explanations and experiences from other individuals who do not have the above expertise but who have come to there conclusions via observation of there symptoms and experiences. We would value everyones opinions and keep an open mind as to what is going on.
Please add this to other boards with a link back to here if you feel there are others somewhere else who would like to be a part of this group.
Admin: Is there a way this can stay on the top of this list for a while to see if we get any response. Thanks

Why are you askin' admin to stay on top of it if you requested responses to be made to YOU via PM's?
Why would you request help from people from the board that just "speculate" or run around with grandstanding ego's to help with this professional observation? To ask money from them with out including them in the research theories?
Why not take your credentials to MRF and contact Dr. Wymore and get in that way? It seems like they've already got goin' what you're talkin' about.

He is a doctor, and asking for professional peers, Carrie. We are citizen scientist. We still do not have a true scientific hypothesis.
He is asking for professional scientists and clinicians. People like Dr. Strickler, Dr. Matthews, Dr. Crist. Dr. Butler, and scientists in the fields mentioned to work together on their own forum, a professional one.

Carrie~~
Think it through for a moment. As professionals, they are not excluding; they are focusing, with less 'noise' so they can think.
This site we are on is Great just as it is.

Thank you for keeping us in the loop, when it happens. I'm sure some of us here know of professionals who would be interested in just such a forum.
Will we have a post on this site to send in things with efficacy? For example: Tumeric; a nurse tried it, stated it healed her of Morgellons within a month. Three of us are going to try it to see.
I pray for Wisdom, and that with that Wisdom, you will get Understanding.

I didn't want to load you with another pm. Hopefully you will get them regarding your suggestion, which I think is an excellent one. Let us know how it goes. I believe the answers will definitely become more clear when those researching are also the ones suffering.

Thanks Spec, I only had a few takers so far. If things do not go anywhere then I think I am going to work on a book of therapies for this illness with a few people. Regards Accudoc
