Well, I finally got one of the black specks before it sunk back into my skin (just now) looked in the mirror and there is was, used a needle to lift it off to place it on a slide. Mag 60X I took pic of the black speck next to a salt granule for size scale. It sort of looks like it's beginning to grow a black thread.

toni, if you could include the magnification, that would also be helpful. tnank you for showing the salt granule, very good, too. i was wondering, if you do a picture at 60x could you also go up in magnification of the same object, to say 120x or 200x? I think that may reveal some deeper features.
Thank you, your pictures are great.

Wonderful picture Toni and yes could you magnify more, also so turn it over and get picture and maybe even put just a speck of water on it. I seen the white/clear wormy fiber go back into the black specks and I think it's her pulling it back into the skin when we try and grab her home.
I don''t get the black specks anymore thank goodness, only get what looks like a broken up black speck parts but never the whole pod thing.

Now I've put a drop of peroxide on it...and the peroxide isn't hurting it at all. It's only causing bubbles to come out of it!

Good pic toni............don't know what that is
Have you tried the bottom light? Or even shine a flashlight under the scope for better viewing. That helps on dark specimens.

THIS IS SO WEIRD! THE PEROXIDE ISN'T PHASING THIS BLACK PARTICLE/SPECK AT ALL! It's been in peroxide a good 5 min now...and it only is bubbling. Wow...we could make space suits or rockets out of this stuff. Going to try milk. Then fire.

The pic isn't real sharp because it's floating in peroxide.

Underneath lighting - speck not even phased. It's sort of reminding me of how "FLINT" would act...you know? Except it's not flint cause look at how it's clear inside it too. It's like the black and clear (whatever) make this thing up.

I was only laughing because I had the black specks for years and I spent night after night staring at them under the scope myself.

I know what you mean. I sure wish we knew what these are. Here it is - I stood it on end with the neede next to a granule of salt to show how thin it is.

One more thing that is VERY interesting about this black speck I can't dissolve. The opposite side of it, doesn't look at all like it's other side. Notice the hologram colors!
