Have you been swarmed by stuff at work?
« Thread Started on Jun 11, 2006, 3:21pm »

I just started a new job a few weeks ago. I have never been in the building before because I was placed by a temp agency. The first day that I went to work, I sat down in front of the computer, turned it on and within 20 minutes I was being swarmed by stuff! I looked at the computer screen and saw the "things" that most of us have. The cube that I sat in was very dusty. So I got out the H2O2 and wiped everything down, wiped my face off, and the swarming stopped.

Guys, this stuff is everywhere. I walked around the building and saw dust/fibers and dots of stuff everywhere on equipment in that new building. It is on the copiers, printers, tables, desks, everywhere. And like I said before, I had never been in that building until that very day, so I know that I didn't bring that stuff in with me.

So my question is: Do you think everyone has this, even if they are not showing symptoms yet? Why do some people get an infestation of this crap and others do not? Is it because of our immune system? Do we need to build up our immune system?

By this way, this was not supposed to be a poll, but I couldn't find the regular place to post.

You described my experience immediately preceding me "coming down" with this , except the "new to me cubical" was in an old building undergoing renovations. The A/C vent was right over my head, except I found the stuff all over the floor and on top of stuff in places I have never been.

I have had an itch attack after being with a patient in 2001. Thought it was scabies which I had before. Went to public health and got lindane soln. Itch stopped. Not sure now.
I have been itch attacked at the public library. I started to cover legs and shoes with deep Woods OFF with DEET. Felt the critters bouncing at me and jumping off my sprayed legs.
I have gotten itchies from clothes lockers at the health club.
