Aquarium/Morgellons Connection????? « Thread Started on Sept 8, 2005, 5:56pm »
Hello My Friends, Here I go again with another "Observation." I have been keeping a 75 gallon Salt Water Aquarium for the last 6 years or so. The Aquarium Subtrate is "Live Sand," which is fully cultivated, distinctly showing the bottom layer of sand the darkest shade, the middle layer is a shade between the bottom (no oxigen produced) and the very top layer of live sand, which is the oxygen producing layer. This type of live sand bed acts as natural filtration, just as the ocean sands. The aquarium also held approximately 50 pounds or more of "live rock." The aquarium functions like its "Own Mini Ocean." I spent many hours just watching the various life forms move through the sand, leaving trails on the top layer, as well as, visable trails below the surface. The sand & rock full of life amazed me as I would watch these "tiny little white worm/larva" emerge from just about every pore and hole in the live rocks. As soon as I turned on the lights, the action began. These little white worm/larva never completely emerged from the live rock, just sort of hung aroung to catch floating organisms or bacteria to feed on. CONNECTCION? The tiny white worm/larva that has emerged from the pores of my skin, from the Morgellons, seemed to be identical or at least a replica of the larva in the aquarium............. Another paralell: The grass algae, the long, fine flowing algae that grows on the live rock has shown similarities to the "Morgie Fibers." I observed the grass algae from the rock in the tank sway back and forth, seeming to be in search of a mate, and just like "The Morgie Fibers" would find one to their liking and the dancing and the act of piercing one strand of grass algae with another, is "exactly" the same manner I have seen the Morgie Fibers appear to reproduce. I am convinced that I was infected with Morgellons from my salt water fish tank while preforming water changes, leveling off the sand and rearranging the live rock, some with sharp edges. I remember cutting my finger a couple of times on the rock while handling and then with my hands still in the aquarium water for an extended period of time, could have possibly been the opportunity for this infection to enter by body. COINCIDENCE OR CONNECTION????? Flutterby There are a couple of other things I'd like to get into detail about sinilarities, but will have to continue later. Flutterby
AQUARIUM/MORGELLONS - CONTINUATION OF ORIGINAL POST FROM FLUTTERBY....................Sorry I had to cut my original post short, but I must tell you of my other Aquarium observations similar to what I've seen with Morgellons. I told you about the grass algae and how it conducts its dance & swaying, like the Morgellons fibers, as they search for a compatable partner. Back in the Aquarium, it seems it would all happen in sequence, like the discovery in the post "Deadly Hairs." As the grass algae strands begin to connect with each other, the larva remain visable in the pores of the live rock, at the same time, sand like particles would begin to fall from the rock onto the sandbed forming a pile as they continued to drop from the rock. I have also seen what look like larva sacs. They were found mostly on top of the sandbed or near a rock. Sure enough, while watching an oval shaped sac, the outside of the sac would begin to show the little ones poking from inside the sac. More & more pointed shapes began their poking from inside until finally an opening in the sac. Only one opening. The larva made their exit from the sac and immediately disappeared into the sand. They emerged slowly, but as the larva population inside the sac was getting smaller, so was the sac. It just seemed to collapse like a deflated balloon. Sounds so similar to the Morgie reproduction process. Freaky! flutterby
Interesting!!! While reading your story, it brought back two specific childhood memories. I recall sticking my hand in a bucket that contained the fish we had caught, much to my surprise something attached onto my finger and it stung like hell. It was VERY tiny, transparant and had to be pried off. From what I can remember it looked somewhat like a crab without a hard shell. I did not tell anyone but my finger stung for a good couple days and it felt like something was still in my finger. After the pain went away I never thought much more about it.
I also recall slipping when I attempted to jump from one rock to another. Now these rocks were partially submerged in ocean water. You know, the kind of rocks the waves break on and you search for shells and other ocean critters. Well, I cut my leg and finger when I landed on the rock beneath me. I thought my finger would never stop bleeding. I believe a piece of coral cut it.
Well, I just thought I'd share my 2 memories because there HAS to be something that we all (Morgellon sufferers) have in common or have been exposed to.
I believe that it is not the fibers themselves, but rather some micro-organism, bacteria or parasite. I recently closed a retail party supply store & gift gallery. I sold Mardi Gras themed items, feather masks, boas, clowns, fur covered animals(some covered with rabbit fur, others are covered with synthetic hair. My garage and guest bedroom are just full of the inventory from my store closing. Anything I have adorned or made of feathers, have been growing. Imagine one whole feather with all of the feather components tightly grown together to make one solid feather. Now, after being exposed to Morgellons, this one single feather began to split hairs, so to speak. A slow process, as each feather filiment separated from the whole, but all remained in tact. As the feather continues to fan out into individual filaments , another process now takes place, each filament will sprout from both sides, what look like branches of the feather filament, Almost like a Christmas tree. I took a feather filament from a feather boa & another from a Jester Doll with a head dress of marabu feathers & when I placed the boa feather filament near the feather filament from the Jester Doll, Guess what??????????????? They began to dance the same dance as the Morgie Fibers. I also have a number of clown dolls, with synthetic hair, just around the clown's porcelan face with just a small amount of the clowns green hair showing from the clown's hat. The hair has grown on all of my clowns, now covering the eyes and has grown down to the cheeks of the face, some are longer. The fur animals I have, are also growing. I had some fur pandas , horses, dogs & cats, owls, etc. storred in an empty dresser drawer in the spare bedroom. One day I opened the drawer and the hair, rabbit & synthetic, both, had grown on the animals. I have a fur covered dashound sitting in a woven basket, the hair once short and smooth is now pokey and long & the dashound looks like a black lab. There has to be someting on or in the fibers...............................................Just another paralell between the Morgellan fibers and their activities, and the Grass Algae I've explained above, the Aquarium Connection. So I have feathers, grass algae, synthetic & rabbit hair and The Morgie Fibers" all displaying the same behavior. Oh, How could I forget my, NATHAN. Nathan is a Lee Middleton Collectible Breath of Life Baby Doll. He is so lifelike, I have people stop me & say what a gorgeous baby, how old is he. I'd answer 3 weeks. He's that real. He is a premie size and when I bought the doll, he had newborn hair, sort of balding in the back of the head and thin. My Nathan's hair has also grown, the back filled in nicely and soon I will have to trim his bangs. How Freaky is This? So let's add my Nathan. Oh by the way, I also have 2 shelties, my male is deaf, of course I infected my dogs. They are clearly very uncomfortable and feel what we feel. Any thoughts. God Bless, flutterby

I wonder if some of the floaties in the air got into your aquarium at some point? I know that they get into cupboard, cabinets, closets, even the fridge. There is no escaping them and it's scary.

HI MONK, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, HOWEVER, WHAT I OBSERVED WAS LIFE IN IT'S MOST SIMPLE FORM, LIVE AND REPRODUCE IN THE OCEAN. MY TANK HAD A FULLY CULTURED SANDBED, JUST LIKE THE OCEAN, FULL OF ALL SORTS OF MICRO-LIFE AND SIMPLE FORMS OF LIFE YOU CAN SEE. LIVE ROCK ALSO CARRIED WITH IT, ALL SORTS OF LIFE FORMS, JUST LIKE THE REEFS IN OUR OCEANS. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS. ALWAYS APPRECIATE THE FEEDBACK. KEEPS US ON OUR TOES. GOD BLESS, LOVE TO ALL, FLUTERBY

Flutterby,
That is amazing. What kind of rocks? Are they painted, or real type rocks?
It seems the rocks, and the synthetic hair are similar in what they do, as you say.
Now, if you can determine the construct of all hair products, defininetly hair related - possibly Stem Cell? Now, I am wondering the connection between stem cell, microbe and bacteriophage. There are filamentous bacteriophages. I wonder their reaction to natural microbes that live in rock, unless what is in rock is used as synthetic hair?
So, that cyanobacteria connection between hair-like fibers, cellulose that U of Tx is using to make fiber for clothes, could be the base, for the stem cell itself?
You got me thinking again Flutterby, but, I can't let go that rock thing? Maybe a look see into geology, we have covered almost everything else, biology, physics, chemistry.

DEAR SKYTROLL, THE ROCK KEPT IN A REEF AQUARIUM OR MARINE/SALTWATER AQUARIUM IS 'LIVE ROCK THAT IS HARVESTED FROM THE OCEAN" ONCE IN THE AQUARIUM STORE, THE NEW LIVE ROCK IS PLACED INTO A SEPERATE TANK THAN LIVE ROCK THAT IS ALREADY CURED.
IT IS NOT PAINTED. IT'S THE REAL THING. THE COLORS SHOW THEMSELVES AS THE ROCK IS CURED. JUST LIKE THE OCEAN. PRETTY PINK COLORS, WHITE GREEN, ETC. THE HARVESTED LIVE ROCK IS FULL OF ANYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE THAT LIVES AND BREEDS IN OUR OCEANS. WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT, THE LIVE ROCK COULD POSSIBLY HOUSE AN OCEANIC ORGANISM OR FORM OF LIFE WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. OCEAN EXPLORATION HAS YET TO DISCOVER, PROBABLY THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF SEALIFE SPECIES.
IT'S A MINDBLOWER.
ANYWAY, I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO CLARIFY THE "ROCK." GOD BLESS US ALL, LOVE YOU, FLUTTERBY

Well now, if this isn't interesting..hair on dolls etc.Made in China no doubt.'¿'¬). Before I became sick (1988-89) I bought a hat, like the russians wear, made out of rabbit hair from China,,,I seemd to immediatly have a scalp infection that I carry to this very day. Dandruf and scales--itch--I was a mess. Little did I know at the time but it could have been the start of this so called morgellons...I HAVE WONDERED SO MANY TIMES IF THERE WAS A CONNECTION , because the affliction started immediatly after buying that damn rabbit fur hat made in CHINA. So come on folks, were you exposed to this chineese rabbit fur---at any time in your life? At the same time I seemd to acquire a very painful sore throat...could not even swallow for a few days. Strange coincidance...or is it?

WARNING__STAY AWAY__I REPEAT__STAY AWAY FROM CHINEESE RABBIT FUR>>>the more that I think about this the more I consider the possibilities. The rabbit fur is all over America...+ infected cotton goods? Fur collars on coats? rabbit fur felt?
Flutterby...I've read this thread, all of it. Very interesting. Very real. I'm at a loss of words. There is so much life out there that we are not aware of, I say we like our countries biologists. I love your aquarium set up though. Do you still have it? Do you love it or do you now hate it? Tranquil.
Stacie, that first post is quite suspicious...scary.
fLUTTERBY, i DO SO APOLOGIZE, YET i'M IN A BIG HURRY HERE..... I ONLY READ YOUR POST;NOT THE STRAND. I have never owned an aquarium>know nothing about them.
Sorry if this is dumb, but did you have fish, etc., living in it? OR were you just setting it up, etc., before you stocked it?
yes, I think this is very, very, VERY RELAVENT!!!!! OH, YES INDEED. THE SAND, THE SAND FLIES, THE LEISHMANIA WE PROB. HAVE NOW, OH YES, YOU BET YOUR AQUARIUM IT IS RELAVENT.
OKAY, I'M GOING TO POST A LONG POST TONIGHT THAT I TYPED UP SUNDAY A WEEK AGO....IT PROBABALY HAS 25 HYPERLINKS IN IT.
bUT FLUTTER, THE very first one ( hyperlink ) is about the ships and the ships ballast contaminating our oceans. In the very middle of that ship/ballast document it has photos
of these things that look just like the Morgs creatures to me. they are called :Mesozooplankton.
we are dragging these things across the world on the underside of ship's ballast.
then when the ships dump the ballast it has sewer stuff, etc., that is polluting our oceans and causing also the water to be contaminated that people on the ship have to use.
i think particularly of our own Becky Bailey saying she got sick from being on a cruiseship.
