How many of you out there have tried septra or bactrim and have you had any success with it? I'm just finishing a course of Septrin Forte and at first it felt as though it could be working, symptoms started to diminish. However, with only 2 days of the course left, I had a hellish night last night, woke up with crawling sensations on feet, legs, back, shoulder neck and in hair and ears. Burning skin, too. Today I'm feeling devastated. I was pinning all my hopes on this drug. What are your experiences?

I took two Septra and one Cipro once a day for five months. First week same if not worse, second week a tad better, third and fourth week it was like and elevator out of hell. My mind came back and clear, and my thought processes improved, energy level, etc. better and better for a while and then it just plateaued. And then nothing. And then there were days slipping back. And some were nearly awful and some were okay, but never was I improving rapidly like I thought in the beginning. However, allthough I slipped back... I've never been as bad as I was before starting. The constant shaking chills, fever, heart flutter, brain dead.
I was just as disappointed as you. I was like pleeease don't tell me I took at these med, for this long,... for nothing. But ovibously it helped somewhat.

It does seem to help but I'm not sure anyone knows why. What I have noticed is that every month there are cycles with me and no matter what treatment you are on, you go through this worsened phase of crawling, biting, and stinging. I have been on this cycle since last Sunday but last night I finally noticed a big improvement. But 30 days from now it will be back, whether I am taking the Septra or not.

Just as Lyme treatment may have to go on for years, maybe Morgellons is the same way. And if there's a connection between the two, it would make even more sense that it will take a long time to eradicate them, if that's even possible. I know people who have been on Rocephin for two years and went off, only to get bad again. Not such encouraging news.
