Ant,
I finally got a new microscope but it won't let me stream. The driver within the accompanying disc, in which I got from the manufacturer, is not recognized by windows. How does a girl get a driver that is and still works for this dang thing?

Tell me what kind of microscope is it so I can do some googling with my qx3 for the most part I signed up to a webcam host their are some free ones out there Other that you have to buy expensive webcam software for your computer to turn it into a server unless your lucky enough to find some freeware probably a longshot
If you ask me a webcam host website is the way to go they give you the software for free and host your stream on their server

I had some trouble with the software register key with my 2nd one, but finally got straightened out. I had to order a 2nd one because the first one got Morgs on the lens and when I went to clean the lens with a Q-tip and alcohol... the lens never was the same again. Also, when you try to use the 750 or 900x... it tends to be literally in the specimen... which is not a good thing. My best advice to you is to protect your lenses at all times when not in use, put their lens caps back on. And, put them back in the box and close the box immediately after using them. This is a great microscope for the money. Let me know if you need any help.

Hey there Ant. My problem with the streaming was due to my registry was unable to recognize AX file types. When we add and then remove programs through the years, the removal of some programs delete registry connections and file capability reads. These are called file association errors. An AX file is directly connected to the ability of your hard drive to open video or record video. The AX file type is primarily associated with 'MPEG-4 DVD Filter' or Multimedia codec. Some of these filters work directly with Windows Media Player. Video files are usually compressed to save space and some are converted into an unknown video format. So a filter, (.AX file) tells the computer how to read the specific compression method. Also my windows task bar was locked so the appropriate program icon 'VidCap' or 'AmCap' was hidden and I couldn't find it to save my life. So I had to unlock my task bar and I changed the format on it so it was easier to read. That was the easiest part after I found out it was locked. The entire experience entailed fixing my registry errors and clean up, and then I also had to update with the 3 pak for Vista, and then update my windows media player and movie maker programs. The enitre process took about four hours. All in all I think I was able to stumble through it all by determination and sheer dumb luck. Kammy, sounds like you had a similar experience, you mentioned registry? Thank you both for your offers and assistance. Now to play all day. I don't have any lesions to get samples from. See what I can drum up. Catch ya all later. Frito
