Have you read the book "The Yeast Connection". The remedy is liquid Nystatin therapy. Hold it in your mouth as long as you can before slowing swallowing it. The book is full of miracle after miracle using this therapy.
I am on it!

I will look for that. It might take a while, though. I have a lot of bookmarks on my computer, excerpts saved in "drafts" to go through, or did I read it in a book?
Lately books I've read or are still reading, and maybe it's in there:
The Immune Advantage Outbreak Alert Probiotics Nature's Internal Healers The Fungus Link - Intro + Initial Phase Diet The Fungus Link - Tracking the Cause(vol 2) The Germ That Causes Cancer Black Mold - Your Health and Your Home What Makes Bread Rise? (**** easy reading - VG!) The Yeast Connection and the Woman Death in the Air
plus some recipe books for low sugar/carb in case I ever feel like cooking (never!)
So, when I find it, I'll post a link, or a quote with a reference to the source.
But, basically, I think the gist of it was that the yeast infection starts in your intestines, where it's all toxic stew in there, and that it grows, even through the intestinal walls, through the body, and to the skin. Like a plant in your body made of (yeast/fungus/mold) and when you eat the sugar or the carbs that convert to sugar the "plant" grows and you feel the crawling sensation "under" your skin. The part about the yeast coming out is where it grows so much that it pushes out.
If that's true, I'd like to see a link to a photo of that.
I've read so much lately though, that my eyes are crossing.
I hate medical stuff and long medical terminology.
But, I have no idea what to do next, so I'm doing the Candida diet to get rid of the itching, but meanwhile the scalp is still coming up with these "things" that match up with some people's photos. So, I'll have to get tested for something - I just don't know what - and the doctors I've seen were not open to thinking about this as a real problem.
I have to switch from this HMO and try for health insurance that will let me pick from a larger pool of doctors - in the meantime, I read these postings for ideas of what to present (or hint) to the next doctor.

Jodyann52: Yes - I've been following posts lately. I have horses, so it's weird for me to see people posting that they are trying meds or wormers for horses. I've had these things on hand all the while and never tried them myself. My horses look healthy and the only one who died was very old and I had to have her put to sleep when her quality of life was taking a steep dive. (Of course, they've been getting wormed all the while and I haven't - so there's a thought!) But, apparently parasites and a lowered immune system go hand-in-hand, so the Strongyloids (spelling?) test could make sense. But, I am hoping to ride this stuff out until I get different health insurance so I'm just gathering info until January. I just have to get through winter without any of the usual respiratory problems I usually get . . . (my plan is to stay away from crowds and kids) In the meantime, the link provided for the Old Amish Dewormer (or something like that) caught my interest. And, I continue to get good health tips through these postings. patticakes: I checked around for the "yeast comes through skin" info I read and haven't found it . . . yet! But I have a lot of stuff to look through. If anyone else recalls reading this and can cite the source, I would really appreciate it - it's been a busy week for me and I shouldn't have been on these websites at all, but had to keep checking for answers. Didn't know about these books. Once again, thanks for the info. Just looked on Amazon.com and found "The Yeast Connection: A Medical Breakthrough" - used $.70 and "Tired So Tired: and the Yeast Connection" - used $3.00 Will post anything relevant, helpful. It might take a bit of time as reading and even keeping my wits about me is, well, you know.

I am curious is suelauer and I do think that is the right name, had any intestinal symptoms. I have read the infestation would cause diarreah and it would be good to know if she had this as a symptom for others seeking testing.
The doctors will likely ask you about this.
If you can get a doctor to test you for it, hooray! Don't let the lack of this symptom discourage you from seeking the test~
Hey, you guys about the yeast stuff, what about trying the 30 days of diflucan like Dr. Schardt, I think I spelled that right, in Patti's Lyme Discussion board post: "diflucan for lyme".

Hey thanks for the input. The reason I asked is that my ABX regimine wiped out my nasty weeping rash only to be replaced by another type of itchy rash. Tiny red dots that itch and stay red forever.
I was considering that the ABX was wiping out my lyme/co-infection BUT that I am now growing yeast?
I started Oil of Oregano 2 times a day. (tincture) iT kicks butt for yeast.
I used the MH dewormer for 30 days last spring and it ROCKS. THe old amish formula. I felt great but I still had my rash. I will do it again in the spring. I lost about 10 pounds doing it. Really flushed my system out. pattiecake

I apologize for always piggybacking on someone else's thread, but I don't know how to create my own and when I tried to register, I just got frozen on that page. I am currently using my husband's account. Will someone please let me know of other alternative methods for fighting this thing? I am allergic to Bactoban(sp), Sulfa drugs, Diflucan, all grains, mentholated products, Cipro, Ceftin, etc. Thanks.

I've been on Diflucan since February. 400 mg a day until a few weeks ago. (I had Valley Fever) I reduced it on my own after reading about the normal amount being prescribed being less - maybe the HMO doctor made a mistake. I worried about liver damage from the high dosage.
But, these crawling, itching, "biting" sensations were something I was dealing with for a few years before, and taking the Diflucan didn't stop those symptoms (for me) - it was only after learning of these websites this year and reading about the Candida diet did I find the first thing that stopped the itching. However, my scalp still has the "things" - and my nose and ears bother me too.
I am now on 200 mg of Diflucan a day (one pill a day until this bottle runs out) - but if I eat sugar or bread, etc., I get the itching back.
I think the Dr. using Diflucan was also using other meds, etc. It's somewhere on this board, perhaps in the Lyme section?

QH, You don't think you have an intolerence to gluten do you? THere is a condition that I thought I had called dermatitis herpetiformis...essentially that is celiac but of the skin.
When these people eat gluten they get horrible blistery itchy skin. If you havn't heard of it do a search on it and you will get a lot of pics and info. Just a thought.
DH is agonizingly itchy..that would not explain the stuff in your scalp but maybe the biting?

Hi Patticakes: Thank you for the information - I looked up Gluten Intolerance - good reading and some connection to Candida in that some of the symptoms and cures overlap. Interesting reading at these links: www.foodintol.com/celiac.aspwww.candidapage.com/weisscgd.shtml www.CandidaPage.com/weisscgd.shtml I didn't get the itchy watery blisters, but some of the other symptoms, yes. However, I am always mindful that it is human nature to read a list of symptoms and then think that one has this or that health problem. There was another post tonight about a fungal infections and the increase in them. I need to follow and read those links. Yesterday, when I was looking for the reference to yeast growing so much in the body that it pushes out from the skin, I explored a link that had images. I was excited to find an image of "black piedra" on the doctor fungus website. It looks like one of the things I have seen. But the ones I have seen have several stages and that would be the middle stage, if its the same thing. www.doctorfungus.org/The theory I am still leaning toward is a lowered immune system and yeast/fungal/mold infection creating a "yeasty" environment which attracts parasites or "bugs" - and the lowered immune system can also allow for other infections that most people can fight off to enter the weakened body and flourish. There is likely more than one thing happening in the body, so my focus right now is to boost the immune system first and keep looking for what else is wrong. Thank you for the idea to consider! QH

HEY THANKS QH! that is an awesome site! (Dr. Fungi). Almost overwhelming. I am a bit concerned as I definately have lyme and it needs to be treated but I also feel I may heve yeast and well you know ABX and yeast!?!
I am currently using oil of oregano 2 times a day and I know for a fact that it works as my son had terrible gut yeast and it cleared it after intensive use.
I take it far away from my abx.
good luck and thanks again. pattiecakes

GH,
I think you are correct there. The fungus is like the second stage too of what Bechamp talked about way back when, in France, right along the same time as Pasteur, the folks who brought us the rabies vaccine and others, but, Bechamp had a theory on bacteria, then fungus, viruses, mold and the stages in the body and what happens when yeast turns to or morphs a virus or it turns to fungi then mold. You are so right that the immune system needs to be brought up to par, first.
There are antiradicals out there. Has anyone taken these? Also, antibiotics, the ones they have now, can lower immune system more, unless some sort of immune booster, I would think, could counteract those negative effects. I heard ginsing is good for immune boosting. There used to be drinks with green tea out there with this in it, and when I drank those, I felt better. It seems to work in gut area.

Skytroll - I enjoy following your posts, looking forward to reading your book.
Embarrassed - It's hard anyone to tell someone else what to do - I do appreciate how everyone shares what they have found and what has worked and not worked for them. The best way to answer your question, I guess, is to say keep coming back and reading! I've found out so much from some really smart people here and at the very least have found comfort that others have had similar symptoms or experiences.
bb and Newby - I need to get that Yeast Connection book!
