ibzahp your remark that "things have gotten a little too quiet" is right on the nose. It appears that the CDC has decided it is safe to settle back in to basically doing nothing as there is no public outcry about the situation.
One thing that is different, back in the late 1970's early 80s when aids broke out there was no internet (not for the public anyway) Now we are all on our computers where our outrage can be safely channeled into chatrooms that the general public will most likely never see. Many of us, myself included use chat boards like this to vent, while this is good it is also bad as it would be more effective and in our better interests if this venting, anger, suffering, getting sicker were exposed more to the public view. I recall gays laying down on the golden gate bridge during rush hour and shutting the bridge down as a form of protest. Whether or not one approves that demonstration certainly got media attention. Some started sewing pink triangles onto their clothing (similar to how jews were identified by the Nazis as they were forced to sew yellow stars onto their clothing).
Of course it doesn't help that the media is much more controlled than it was back then. Also I swear I don't know if it is the fluoridated water, or tramsmissions from Haarp, Gwen and the cell phones or maybe our tv sets, but most people just seem to be walking around in a daze. We have been so overwhelmed with the constant fear mongering the government does ( SARS scare, Bird Flu Scare, Swine Flu Scare, World Trade Center, Get wrenching violence and blood all over movies and tv shows (noticed how many shows on cable are about vampires, or serial killers, Dexter..revenge killing vigilante killing?...I do not believe there was this much violence and gor 30 years ago coming into our homes via the tv set) All of this stuff adds up to a kind of paralyzing numbness.
I think it is much harder now,not only to get motivated and get out there but it is also harder to get the public's attention. Everybody is already on overload.
Of course (imo) the government perpetrates all this overload because it makes us easier to control.
The gay slogan for aids became "Silence=Death" Very true and very effective. I still have my button from that era, a pin with a pink triangle on black background and the slogan "SILENCE= DEATH"
That would be a perfect slogan for us as well "MORGELLONS ... SILENCE = DEATH" And maybe billboards or bumber stickers saying "MORGELLONS... NO RESEARCH FUNDING, NO CURE NO HOPE"
Public servic annoucements on TV asking, " Are you or a loved one an unknowingly infected with Morgellons? This perplexing deadly disease has already infected over 60,000 in the US and has spread to every country in the world. People are dying fronm Morgellons. Are you one of the infected? Know the signs and symptoms. Request an assessment from a knowledable doctor..blah blah..."
That might make people sit up and take notice. And of course since this crap proabably is infecting just about everyone to some extent any testing for fibers or for the pathological blood changes documented by Clifford Carnicom would most likely uncover a huge segment of the population already infected and not realizing it. Now this might generate the kind of public reaction we need to get funding.
We could at least put bumper stickers on our cars and wear pins with a slogan couldn't we. Maybe we could get funding for a billboard campaign.
Has Morgellons only infected those of us in society with no money or are there wealthy people who are infected who have the funds to do something about public awareness and apply more heat to the backsides of the CDC and those holding the purse strings for funding research.
I wonder if Joni Mitchell would be interested in helping.
As far as Mandrell goes imo most country singers are too mind controlled to do anything but what they are told to do by their handlers. No offense to country singers meant but I have read alot on that topic (mind control) and it is rampant in the country music community.
