Aware, I love your paranoid cat avatar too lol Ant, like yours too by the way lolol. Ant, thanks for the heads up. Where can I get that sodium preborate? I just made a mixture of peroxide, vinegar, and borax. I'm trying it out on myself first before I put it in the cats ears. Thanks for the help, you guys are great. Kat Sodium preborate is in allot of laundry products these days One product that you might recognize is Oxy clean its a bit spendy because of the name brand The product I use is the much cheaper Sun oxygen cleaner that I get at the family dollar for about $ 3.50 for about a 3lb tub I use about four scoops for my bath It's sorta like a dry form of hydrogen peroxide when you put it in warm water it bubbles like Alka seltzer pretty cool

Hey all, I'm almost out of Tresaderm (the cats ear drops), and I'm wondering what concoction I can make for them for their ears? Anyone with pets with morg that can give me some pointers would be great. I even tried Olive Oil mixed with the Tresaderm but doesn't seem to work as well. For my own ears I am using 50% alcohol, 50% peroxide, and 1 dropper full of liquid garlic bulb extract mixed together. But, I have to do this 3-4 times a day. Then I put vics vapo rub into my ear canals with q tips (definitely can't do that with the kittys) Not sure if the other would work for the cats though. Thanks, Kat Hey, Kat. Have you got down real close and sniffed the cats ears for an odor? If you smell anything they might need something from your vet like MalOtic. www.drugs.com/vet/malotic-ointment.htmlI needed to modify this post. Something like MalOtic meaning.... something similar to it but for only for cats....instead of dogs. (BIG difference.) Hope kitties are better soon. - JT

Ok Ant, so I do have the Sun oxygen cleaner. So I can mix the vinegar, the peroxide, and the Sun oxygen cleaner for eardrops?
The cats shake it out immediately after I put the drops in.

Ok Ant, so I do have the Sun oxygen cleaner. So I can mix the vinegar, the peroxide, and the Sun oxygen cleaner for eardrops? The cats shake it out immediately after I put the drops in. "Prepare sodium perborate add 2-3 tablespoon of sodium perborate to a cup of slightly warm water. Stir and wait for a couple of minutes for the perborate to dissolve. The formula doesn't require an exact science. The importance is to add enough perborate until the solution is no longer soluble and well past saturation." because that way when the solution drys in the ear it leaves a precipitrate of the perborate in the ear that kills the mites and eggs so not to worry if the cat shakes it out of the ear as long as the ear has gotten wet put a couple drops in the ear once a day get a paper towel or something and get the outer ear wet too do this till no more mites do not wash off Can you say "precipitrate of the perborate" three times real fast I cant
