I have no choice but to take an antipsychotic otherwise the doctor will not treat me.
Do the antipsychotic meds have any effects on your physical Morgellons symptoms? A user on the CZ Morg forum reported massive temporary symptom resolution when taking them, so I'm curious about your experience.
Hi Threader,
I wanted to share this with you, since you'd spoke of someone from the "CZ Morg forum" that had reported their symptoms were *temporarily resolved*.
I too had "a temporary resolution of symptoms (not from taking anti-psychotics or anti-depressants) BUT from Ivermectin/Stromectol , an (
anti-Parasitical) that has some of the same "compositions" as the "antipsychotics" do.
They both have an "inhibiting" effect of "one's symptoms", but...it's as that poster said, "only while taking particular medications".
These posts below, and many others on the thread are back from when we here discussed this very issue, back in 2011.Post from 2011 (and link below)Hi Harry,
You'd mentioned Ivermectin is also for humans and that a
doc gave you that years ago.
Yes, I certainly know what you mean. I took Stromectol every
day for 6 months straight - never missing one day -which is
the people Ivermectin.
When I stopped taking it, (after taking 150 pills of these
Stromectol every month) for 6 months without fail, I broke
out just like Morgellons was starting all over again. And
that happened just a few days after stopping the 6 months
of it.
I'd hoped I'd have killed off something, but it didn't seem
to do anything except mask the symptoms.
After I broke out, I was in just beside myself, because that
was a long haul to take the Stromectol/ivermectin without
ever missing a day.
I then began to read about Stromectol/ivermectin and to
see what compounds/ingredients were in it. I dissected
each ingredient and wanted to learn what they do, and
why.
I found that there's an ingredient in the stromectol that
calms (cytokines) in the body. Cytokines are cell signalers.
So in essence, I realized (for me) that I was basically not
killing off a thing in my body, but what I was doing was
actually sort of sedating my "cell signalers".
I read up on "antipsychotics too" after that, just for the sake
of learning something I was wondering about.
Dr's have said that Morgies are "relieved of their symptoms
after taking antipsychotics".
Well..and you know what? There's "cytokine calmers/sedater"
in that too.
So there's a part of me wondering, if that's all that the
Stromectol/ivermectin did, and all that the antipsychotics
really do, because it seems these meds haven't cured
anyone, but they temporarily relieve symptoms to some
degree, but only while the person is taking them.
Because once they're stopped, all symptoms come back
full blown.
So...antipsychotics or Ivermectin - they both calm or sedate
the symptoms of Morgellons "imho" from what I've learned.
That's why I decided not to take them.
I've never taken antipsychotics, but I have
had the Stromectol/ivermectin. And...I found that taking
supplements and creating an environment that causes
the immune to not only strengthen, but that also protects
cells...like the tannins in teas and pine barks do, that I've
gotten the same exact relief as when I took the Ivermectin/
Stromectol.
Bottom line, I don't know...but it's a safe way to give it
shot and see if the more natural way might help too.

Warriorsheep, and anyone else...please look at this.
I just wanted to share this because (Ivermectin as well as
Antipsychotics have ingredients in them that suppress
Cytokine activity which results in a "calmer infected body"...
from also bacteria, disease, etc.
Or better said, a "false impression of getting better".
They even use "antipsychotics for Multiple Sclerosis" and
Rheumatoid Arthritis. Oh yes.... PLEASE see the links below.
It's so that the patient experiences "less symptoms".
Cytokine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cytokines (Greek cyto-, cell; and -kinos, movement) are small cell-signaling protein molecules
To understand the anti-inflammatory properties of SSRIs, the research team at The Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology investigated the use of fluoxetine and citalopram in mouse and human models of RA. Dr Sacre, a lecturer in molecular cell biology at BSMS, a partnership between the universities of Brighton and Sussex, said: "We were interested in SSRIs because of their reported anti-inflammatory effects." "Prior studies have shown that patients with depression who respond to treatment with SSRIs display a reduction in cytokine levels (signals that can induce inflammation), suggesting a connection between SSRIs and the immune system."

Cytokine activity (being reduced by anti-psychotics)

because of "sedating or calming or inhibition" too of the cytokine activity.
Cytokines (Greek cyto-, cell; and -kinos, movement) are small cell-signaling protein molecules
Cytokines are hormone-like proteins which mediate and regulate inflammatory and immune responses.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC107947/PS...and this is only a (my opinion thing) but when the doctors
have given Morgellons patients "antipsychotics or Ivermectin"
and said they got better for instance because they took
antipsychotics....I don't for a second believe it was because
the patient was "DOP" as the docs say.
It's for the simple reason that the medicine/science/doctors
USE these same EXACT meds also in the cases of a patient
having Multiple Sclerosis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis too.
These meds "calm the cytokines" in the body.
And when the cytokines are calmed...one feels much better.
It's only a mask.
Because once either of these meds are stopped - ALL
symptoms come right back in a matter of days.
Please see how antipsychotics are used just as much for
relief for the patient in Rheumatoid Arthritis as well as
for Multiple Sclerosis.
I really believe "this is what I experienced from taking
Stromectol/Ivermectin".
Only my symptoms got masked, because nothing got
better when I quit taking Stromectol.
