Hello to All, Let me give some background as to what I am asking...I am Rick of rickndebby and have said many times that I seem to be completely unaffected by this " thing "...With that being said, Debby at times will see things that I don't see...I believe her in every way but lately she has asked me if I can " smell " that morgellons smell....She swears that there is a distinct smell associated with them....Does anyone here share her ability to smell this thing???

Yes the stuff stinks. Stuff coming out of the lesions smells, sometimes worse than other times. The inside of my purse smells like it, even though I regularly dump it out, vacuum it and spray it with Lysol and perfume.
Sometimes a kleenex touched to my skin comes away with the smell on it. The smell is hard to describe, very pungent, dirty, buggy with overtones of chemicals, smelly tennis shoes and really bad B.O. It is not a pleasant smell

Yes, I have smelled this thing. It's so hard to describe. It will last for days at a time. It seems to be coming from my sinuses.

Glennb and I see to be noticing a similar odor from the lesions. Almost chemical, pungent.. if smells like nothing else you have even smelled. sometimes like burning oils, burning butter or pork hotdogs. Very gross, and sometimes unnoticeable. Othertimes it makes the room you were in wreak. Especially you are sure if scabs in the garbage can keep it going. Who ever heard of blood stinking like that? Take out the trash, return to the room, and the smell is literally gone. It almost seems to be a gas that is emitted from the "scab" which in fact is a parasite. I can't notice the smell at the site of the lesion itself. It's the parasite. Maybe like Glenn suggested on another thread, some sort of emission to protect itself in some way? spec Spec-ial request: Please continue the responses even if you have posted about this before, this is being placed in the MasterThread ~ Directory #3 - Sufferers' Database, as a 'symptom query'.

Cindy and I have often speculated that the 'smell' is a cross between "old man hat" and "wet dog".

The smell? I believe it's the fungus part of our disease. Smells moldy, dirty, not like BO at all.
I am smelling myself less often now. However, I can just pass by someone else like in a grocery store and they smell like Morgellons! It's so strong that I turn around to look at the person!
I don't do hugs anymore until I'm sure I can't pass this on, but sometimes just standing near friends, the smell is so very obvious. I battle with the question as to whether I should say something or ask questions . . . . So far, I've kept my mouth shut until I'm sure. There is one friend that "smells" and she is sick now but thinks it's her diet, etc. I see no Morgellons symptoms on her but she does have the smell.

Hello all..I am new member with 99.9% of all symptoms listed on survey. I have had this for 5 years. I am also interested in anyone seeing things like patterns on surfaces moving, fabrics, paper,or plants "rippling"...it happens only during a breakout occurance as if something environmental triggers it.I also hear complaints of stinging sensations from friends, and family.,although I dont say what it is , the marks are like scrates or bites that always appear in two's.

I definately smell the 'smells'.
Guest wrote that it smells like its coming from the sinus area. I have caught that too. As gross as it sounds, after blowing my nose, I catch a scent of internal infection, sinus infection. That scent that when you're really sick with a cold and you catch your first smell or taste again after not being able to and it is definately a 'sick' smell, an infected smell (or taste).
I also agree with Chazman. The general smell is that of a moldy smell like "old man hat' or 'wet dog' or even forgotten soiled laundry that has been left in a closed plastic sack. It is the dampness that accumulates in a boat or a closed motor home between annual destinations.
I haven't smelled it in a long time, but in the beginning, my lesions produced a sick sweet smell~ so very nauseating. A while back ( a year at least if not longer) someone posted that the sweet smell was the s. maltophilia present in the lesion.
I sometimes wonder if its not produced by the biofilm that seems to cover the areas I reside most in and obviously the clothing I wear. I long for the day when I can actually feel truly clean again.

I'm confused! i just don't know what to think. I have the crawlies, cuts on my fingertips, like razorblade cuts, and at one point I broke-out on my chest and back. When I went to the doctor he said that they were insect bites and he gave me an anti-histamine. Since then they have gone away, it didn't take long. I guess that is all I notice. So what do you make of this?
I know there is something not right. I don't really scratch much, just 'rub' where it itches. My face looks bad if I don't take special care of it. Oh, and I have noticed like some sort of bumps around my lymph nodes on my neck, anyone else notice this? I have no smell, no 'lesions', no fibers, no 'balls of lint', no worms, although once or twice i have witnessed a fly of some sort crawling on me. I kept it. I have even taken hot hot salt baths to see if anything came out, nothing. I have rubbed my skin with oils and such, nothing.
Someone I have been spending time with has been complaining of itching. I don't know what to say or do. This person thinks they have fleas, mind you there are no pets. I know that I must go on living life, right?

I can smell it on occassion. The smell comes and goes and doesn't seem to be a function of when you shower, and it can leave before you shower. Mostly I do not smell it anymore. Not a good smell. Generally not too "loud" of a smell for others to notice, I think. I think it attracts some of the "insects" that fly to us. Other sufferers have commented on the existance of the smell.

I had forgotten I posted that, but yes there have been times while trying to remove these things that the smell has become so overwhelming that I felt like it had mind altering qualities. There is definately a chemical element to the smell, maybe in the solvent family or benzene family. I find this chemical element interesting as Hulda Clarke mentions in her book, The Cure for All Diseases, that solvents in the body attract parasites and that whatever organ in the body with solvent contamination will be the organ the parasites choosse to infest. Hulda Clarke pretty much says that unless the body is cleared of solvent contamination getting rid of the parasites will be next to impossible. Additionally, while doing some research I discovered that some parasites actually manufacture small quantities of solvents and other chemicals.
There have been a percentage of posters usiing street meth who have morgellons. I am in no way suggesting that everyone with this condition or even the majority with this condition are meth users or that meth use causes morgellons. Street Meth is probably highly contaminated with solvents so maybe this is one of the factors that can cause a low grade, asymptomatic morgellens infection to morph into a full blown case of morgellons.
I think the possible solvent connection is interesting. Will see if I can find the reserach about what chemicals and solvents certain parasites emit.
