From what I've heard, Doxycycline is very good.
I can't take it, allergic to it...so I'm taking Levaquin 500mgs a day.

I saw Dr. Schwartz and he recommended Avelox and Septra (a sulfur drug also called sulfameth). The Septra helped take the burn sensation away from the skin. I tried it about 4 separate months along with Biltricide, Ivermectin, Difulcan and Vermox. I tried Avelox just one month (the first time). It helped alot with the brain fog. I have run out of meds so now try natural products: hgh potency garlic by New Medicine, pomengranate capsules by Solaray, Sasparilla and Neem by Pukka. Sometimes use grapefruit seed extract. The best thing for the skin is Sufur bar soap purchased from Walmart for $6. Have you registerned at the Canadian site www.morgellons.ca?If you are interested in being part of a support group let me know. I am in Quebec but have family in Ontario.

cj, I took Doxycycline for 1 year and 9 months and it helped the systemic illness symptoms a lot. It does not help the lesions. It is very hard to take as it causes you to vomit. I stuck it out and it was definately worth while.

Tetracycline helped, at least temporairly. Amoxicillin helps as well, but not as much. I diddn't have any stomach problems with tetracycline.

It seems the general consensus, in my opinion, is doxycycline. I've taken it about a year, or two, possibly longer. I'd have to do some real work to figure that out. It seems Ivermectin is a closed story. No one seems to be talking about it anymore, unless I missed reading it. Does that mean, uh, what does that mean? Was anyone ecstatic about it? Did anyone have any major improvement with it? Would anyone recommend it today? I was sooo unhappy I didn't have any, and then I finally got the pills. I did hear it was much better than the fenbendaole. That was about 3 weeks ago. I got some info. on it, but I was never able to find anyone who took it that could tell me how to take it because the people I talked to were taking the paste. I couldn't figure out how much to take, or how long to take it. I'm sure I should have been able to figure it out, but my brain is in the repair shop temporarily. I have a real sore spot in my ear, & I suspect that something going on there may have caused some circuitry failure in my reading/comprehension lobe. If there is anyone out there who has found this drug to be of any value, willing to share their knowledge of pill consumption with the less knowledgeable, would you please contact me? Please? I feel like I'm just sitting on the side lines, & you all won't let me play, even though you have nothing to do with my lobe failure. It would be nice to get an update on the results of both the ivermec, & the fenben, along with the doxy you guys experienced since your last posts. It's been awhile. I guess that's enough of me. ;D I hope somebody responds to my plea for help. I hope & pray we all get help soon., my dogs too. Bless all our hearts. I used to go out with Kay Bailey Hutchison's brother. You think I should write her? Would my encounter give me any pull? I'd find out how to spell her last name if I did. Hugs. freaky

on tinidizole and minocycline for over a year, works well. Sometimes I do less dosage and the lesions start back up with a bang. Gone is the brain fog, crawly movements, and horrific pains in legs. I can live a somewhat normal life. Butttttttttttttt my doctor closed up shop and I am still looking for a doctor in Illinois who can treat this. Most doctors here have no clue what this is and want to test me for all kinds of things with no guarantee that they will prescribe me the antibiotics I need.
Was thinking of investing in medical insurance, but they don't cover anything that has no diagnosis and if I get really sick again, I will not be able to make my monthly premium payment, then they cancel me, so then, why have insurance?

Ok, Freaky I will give you my experience. In our case, the derm actually prescribed Ivermectin, the stromectol pills. Not sure if thats what you have or no. They come in 3 mg, and 6 mg. Anyway, he had us take 15 mg per about 120 to 140 lbs, and 18 mg if we weighed over 150. I took 3 doses, but cant say it did TOO much. For some reason, I think it helped clear the environment, perhaps we werent as attractive and some around the house died off in the meantime, etc. I broke out in a lot of little spots, as I think they were trying to get away, but sorry to say it did not totally kill them off by any means. This was about August we did it, and my mom still had them in her eyes as well, even after 2 treatments. So for us anyway, it just didnt do the trick. I must say tho, NOW...my mom and sis seem to have overcome them for the most part. Not sure if the Ivermectin had a delayed effect or what. ME, on the other hand, I am a hopeless case I guess, just cant shake them. I was the first infected, and the ONLY one to take prednisone. sniff sniff... I have done some things purely by accident that have helped immensely to get them out of my face and hair, but cant get rid of the lil critters completely gone, especially in my most sensitive area.
