Liatrus, you're not losing it lol....that's the default censor part of the forum and I believe that's their word for d i c k. I'll try to change that to something else. Patti - Thanks so much for clearing that up - funny thing is that just ten minutes before that I noticed that I did actually put a really weird, irrelevant word in an old email - I sent quite awhile ago. Hey, maybe you can tell me why I put the two words "cow trap" in an email totally out of context ?? I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a cow trap - I had to call someone in Texas who informed me that it is a bit of bars or something that is meant to trap cows so they can give them injections and such ! Imagine reading an email and seeing that in what you have written ! Oh well, I feel better that I have only done it once ;D ! Thanks again. heh, heh ... "instrument" instead of "Dick" - who makes these decisions ?

Patti, have we heard if they have made any progress ? I see a new Dr next Friday and was hoping to take a printed out idea of what this may be . Thanks Sandra , oh PS thanks for the prayers for my granddaughter. Her bone graft went well, she had her jaw scrapped from parasite damage, am anxious to here which parasite or if they know. Her cousin at 4 , and is now 20 had to have a bone in her mouth scrapped form parasites and infection. They both swim alot in backyard pools across the street from each other, hope there is no correlation. Again Thanks !! Sandra aka socalsandy

Hi Sandy,
I wish I could give you an update but I haven't heard a thing. As usual, we the sufferers will probably be the last to know what is going on. If I hear anything before next Friday I'll be sure to contact you. Guess if nothing else, you could always print out the CDC page and take that, if you think your new doc would be receptive.
As for your grandaughter, I had no idea they scraped jawbones for parasite damage (or if I did, I forgot). Egads, I hate that word "scrape" and what a horrible thing for her to go through. I think we'll all be curious to know their conclusions so please keep us updated.
Hugs, Patti

The tears rolled here too as I read the CDC's page. I only hope and I'll pray that we can continue to feel the way my tears made me feel.

Yes rattling their cages.... and through doing this they have learned so much from all of us. Have they not? As long as they hold off....they can even learn more from the masses--us. Does that mean we are unknowingly test rats. This is food for thought. What do you think? Or maybe we shouldn't. health.groups.yahoo.com/group/finding1cure(tribute to Chas Holman, Morgellon Crusader) Traderjosie

I've been gone for a long time from here, but I couldn't help but notice that no one mentioned the fact that the CDC was supposed to have started an investigation in California early in 06. What happened with that? Why are they just now starting to take "bids for contractors" but yet they are naming Kaiser? My ears are still hanging pretty low as I didn't see anything new or take this as progression. I'm a little suspicious as to why they chose that company. I am not competely satisfied with the explainations on their site and I can't shake the words "cause and cure" from my mind. Maybe you guys can update me since I've been missing in action lately.
Also, as far as the law suits go, no one has a case until there is a proven connection as to who is at fault here. I hope a lawyer out there is willing to take all this info and MAKE the connection. Believe me, when there has been one, there will be thousands of law firms soliciting for clients to sign up. Plaintiff firms watch this kind of stuff and will pounce when there is legal standing. However, with that being said, I certainly do NOT want to discourage anyone from seeking representation if you can find an attorney that will take on this kind of case right now. (remember Erin Brockovich?) Keyword: DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT!
I have been loud and clear in the past about a "class action" type of situation when the cases are ripe, but each person will need to determine what is best.
Keep up the good work everyone.

leighann -- see ''CDC/Kaiser Morgellons vs "informed consent"''' lymebusters.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=rash&action=display&thread=1193782793"NEW Update November 1st at CDC'' lymebusters.proboards39.com/index.cgi?board=rash&action=display&thread=1194023090w/r/t lawsuits. You're thinking "malpractice" -- that IMHO is the wrong way to go. The right way is a civil discrimination case. Based on appearance, they quickly misdiagnose you as DOP, without running tests. That's discrimination. It'd be like coming into a doctors office as a "person of color" and being refused correct treatment because the doctor thinks you're lying or won't pay (based on prejudice against "person of color"). This same kind of prejudice is at work with DOP-dxing doctors. Mention morgellons or things coming out of your skin or parasites, and they refuse to believe there's a new disease out there with those attributes. Such behavior might have been justifiable 5 years ago before papers on Morgellons got published indicating Lyme/Parasitic involvement. But to jump to a conclusion that a patient is psycho based on appearance is discrimination, plain and simple. Furthermore, even mental patients have healthcare rights. Mental disability is not a valid reason for a doctor to refuse to treat the infection part of Morgellons. It is illegal for a doctor to discriminate against a patient for any reason -- sexual orientation, race, mental status, or disability. I intend to try this line against Kaiser one of these days. What's even better, if you complain about discrimination (making an official complaint) and then following your complaint you are dropped from the HMO (which is something they do to complainers), or receive even worse care, or are cut off from the medications they're already giving you... that's looked upon even worse in a civil case -- because it's considered "retaliation" for making the discrimination complaint. Other legal aspects I am still pondering include "Compassionate care" and "breach of contract" (which would apply if an entire HMO was colluding -- across doctors -- to deny treatment).

Niels, the reason the CDC is doing that, classifying all these different diseases which are really just lyme is for the drug companies, why have a guy on one pill when has 20 diseases, he needs 20 pills man, there is no CDC, it's the drug companies federal arm, that's all.

Kaiser Permanente has electronic health records that will allow a systematic method of identifying patients who may have this condition. I don't mean to sound pessimistic, & I'm sure I'm not reading this right. When I analyze the above sentence, I think, every hospital, and most Dr's. offices have electronic health records. They're on the computer. That makes for an easy way to identify patients, by using a systematic method, a logical method. They put all the patients in one section called Morgellons Patients. This sounds like secretarial work to me, but it's about time they gave secretaries some recognition. They do a lot of hard work. Some have even graduated from college. I'm not taking this out of context, am I?
It seems great they are acknowledging us. That's wonderful. They have already put us off three more months though, haven't they? But never mind that, we were out for commitment, & struggled incredibly to get it, .
The last thing on my mind is the fact the CDC became so anxious anticipating the undertaking of this project with such great emotion, that they still appear to be in somewhat of a state of confusion. I know the answer to this question is no, but I just don't know why exactly, except that everything has to be systematically in order. Nevertheless, since we've made huge discoveries, know many things as fact about the fibers, the specs, the parasites, etc.why would it be inappropriate to help out the CDC with some documented evidence? The only reason for taking baby steps is because you'll trip, & fall if you don't know what's in front of you. Naturally, this would cause un-needed anxiety. I have been under the impression we already set the stage, removed many obstacles that might get in the way, just in case the CDC might possibly slide through some of the basic tedious, & time consuming preliminary work which has already been documented by authorities, who have been researching this for years, saving the CDC much repetitive leg work. It would seem most arrogant not to view what could be offered by specialists of the same caliber of ability, if not possibly from those of a much higher qualification on the subject.
Please excuse me if I am way out of line in my discussion of this, for we all know the CDC is a dedicated group of responsible men, & women who will be working to find out exactly what Morgellons is, where it came from, & the cure. Whatever made me suspect some kind of cover-up due to prior, yearly delays getting started on this is just probably silly. Also, to have reservations that there won't be a fork in the road, resulting in a dead end is just my imagination running away with me. I just hope I haven't written another one of my embarrassing posts, that I'll be faced once again to delete. The acknowledgment of our existence is undoubtedly a tremendous accomplishment. Happy trails, freaky

I constantly scan various morgellons sites, I'm not much of a poster, but I am so furious this morning - I just read that the study will begin in late 2008. Has anyone else heard this? I've had this for 12 years now, and I've tried to be patient, but seriously folks, this is a joke - on us! We need to start emulating act-up. This BS needs to stop.
