Dear Jess,
Thank you so much for being willing to share your experience and research with all of us free of charge! Is it possible for you to get us started on the diet you are using while you are still putting a web-site together??? Maybe briefly detail some sample meals and give a brief outline of how long you have been on the diet and what happened with your symptoms as you went along. I know I would really appreciate this. Bless you, guest

Hello ALL,
As the Naturalpath has told me, the Candida Cleanser takes out the infection of the slime and whatnot, but the "bugs" still didn't really "go away"....why is that??...hummmmmm

Are candida cleansers "curing" anyone? I've been on it for 2 weeks now and am feeling MUCH better, but not cured yet. Is it just a means to an end?

quote author=guest board=rash thread=1124861257 post=1124979521]Dear Jess, Thank you so much for being willing to share your experience and research with all of us free of charge! Is it possible for you to get us started on the diet you are using while you are still putting a web-site together??? Maybe briefly detail some sample meals and give a brief outline of how long you have been on the diet and what happened with your symptoms as you went along. I know I would really appreciate this. Bless you, guest[/quote] Sure I don't mind doing that. I also wanted to address the posts about the Candida cleanse. I'm not too familiar with those, but I have this innate feeling that candida cleanses are designed for people who have maybe a mild issue with some excess yeast in their bodies, and doing the candida cleanse flushes out most of that. However, I think that when you have candida as bad as us morgs patients do, then the candida cleanse would be like....trying to fight deeply scarring cystic acne with soap and water. That may work for some people who only have a mild problem, but when you try it on someone with a much more serious problem, then it's only going to have minimal efficacy. My diet was completely overhauled, LOL. I know it may freak out some of you (as it did me) to find out that you can no longer eat sugar, sweets, yeast, etc. However, I've been eating wonderful and tasty foods that are natural and delicious. Basically, I've been abiding by these rules. Eat any kind of meat that I want, including Beef, Chicken, Turkey, and Pork. Eat any kind of fish (and there is a large variety) I've been getting salmon, scallops, tuna, albacore, shrimp, etc. You can cook fish many ways, like blacken, grill, bake, etc and add in whatever seasoning you like. I personally like spicy seasonings and sauces, which are allowed. I've been getting several packs of bacon each week and generally eat a bunch for breakfast. Bacon tastes good to me, haha ;D I also get large packs of eggs, which you can also eat. If you are a bread lover, they sell sugar free bread at just about every grocery store. I make chili frequently, with some ground beef and this stuff I buy called "chili magic" that is fine to eat (it comes in a can and is everything you need besides the beef). I've been buying bottles of flavored water, calorie free and sugar free, and I have found that they taste great. If you're not a big veggie lover, then you may want to check out trying a food dehydrator. I was never very fond of fresh or cooked veggies, but when you dehydrate them into crispy veggie chips they can taste quite different. It's odd but I have actually thought of some interesting concepts since I began dehydrating my food! One was wondering WHY we still have 25,000 people dying of starvation every day, when we have the technology to dehydrate food, making it last 10+ years without special storage. Since the world produces two loaves of bread worth of food per person (6 billion) every day on the planet, we definitely have enough food to feed everyone. Why don't the hunger relief companies do something that will actually relieve hunger, maybe collect excess discard produce and meats from grocery stores and mass dehydrate them? To me, that seems like a better use of money besides fund raising, or canned food drives! OK I've gotten waaay off subject sorry LOL back to the diet Basically, you can eat anything that's meat or vegetable. You can't eat too many fruits because they have too much sugar, but some are OK like cherries and apricots (and other fibrous fruits, I think apples are OK). We're supposed to avoid alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, etc. I've still been drinking diet sodas that contain caffeine without ill effects (but don't know if everyone can do that). Like all of you, I'm very new to the whole dietary change thing, and I have cheated where I find myself at home with a dove chocolate bar and don't even remember buying it. I've cheated, but I think as long as your diet doesn't consist solely of sugar (as mine did) then you can still successfully fight it. Eating something sweet may cause you to itch after a few hours, but I've found that it goes away. It's very predictible to determine if something you eat causes you to have symptoms, well it has been for me since I was able to get rid of all of my morgs symptoms so quickly. I'm not sure about how it will be if you are just starting out, and you have been sick for a lot longer than I was (the itching started about 8 months ago...however, I have a very strong feeling that this whole disease has been developing for many years. I developed interstitial cystitis at age 19, and am, 24 now, and IC is related to Candida as well.) Oddly enough, the interstitial cystitis diet and the Candida diet are 100% identical! I was told at age 19 that I would need to go on the IC diet if I wanted to stop peeing 60 times a day (yeah you read that right sometimes I have to go every 10 minutes and it SUCKS) but now even my IC symptoms have been subsiding. I imagine my overall health has been improving also due to the new diet. I think it's actually marvelous that something forced me to change to keep my sanity. I did not have the willpower alone to eat healthy after a lifetime of eating poorly. I can only post my personal experience, so I suggest to anyone who is interested in trying the candida diet to 1. stop taking all antibiotics (because what happens is the antibiotics cause the yeast to grow, which temporarily suffocates the collembolla or any other arthropods, and this makes the patients feel better for a while as long as they are on the antibiotics. The bad thing is that it causes the underlying problem to just get worse.) 2. Google the candida diet and find out what the rules are concerning what you can and cannot eat. And don't lose heart! I'm eating incredibly yummy, healthy and easy to make food. I also don't feel guilty when I'm done about putting non-nutritional food in my body, and I don't lie awake in bed, unable to sleep from the itching. I am curious, do some of you find that your symptoms get a lot worse at night, but then are not very bad in the mornings (or not even there at all?) I'm asking because I have found this to be true for me. My thoughts on this are that at night, I've generally eaten dinner and some kind of sweets or snack and that triggers the symptoms..after the night has passed and much of the food has digested, then I'm not bothered by the candida in the morning. Good luck everyone pls let me know if you have any questions I can try to answer. luv Jess

I also wanted to mention something that I discovered as a result of this disease, which I think many of you may want to try. It's absolutely unparalleled for its usefulness and also its ability to remove any fibers or flakes from your skin (I used to get them the worst around my nose and eyebrows). The cool thing is that I came across this serendipitously, as a result of me scrubbing my skin with a regular old fingernail scrub brush, trying to alleviate the horrible itching. I would soak in the bath, take the scrub brush and do my arms, hands, palms, legs, face, etc (I'm sure some of you can identify). I noticed that my skin had begun to clear up dramatically using the scrub brush. One day, and I cannot tell you why I did this, I began to use an electric tootbrush to exfoliate my face with. Now I am absolutely in love with this thing. I know it sounds crazy. But it's actually a miracle. I was so excited about it that I have been posting daily pictures on the website I post to. It doesn't hurt your skin, and the oscillating mechanism in the electric toothbrush actually gets into every tiny pore on your face instantaneously, and leaves your face feeling so unbelievably clean, your face will feel fresher and better than it probably ever has in your life! I do hope that you guys will check out this method of exfoliating. I'm so excited to share this because of the results I've been having. Just FYI-I don't use the baking soda anymore, as I mentioned in the thread. I have switched to just using the electric toothbrush along with a regular cleanser and am still getting awesome results. This has not only been curing my acne, but it also is making my skin so smooth and even toned, and I just do it twice a day. I hope this helps someone! www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=61791

Dear Jess,
Thank you. I have started down the path then already, which is good to know and maybe why my symptoms have subsided a bit. I have noticed the nocturnal cycle as well. Like today, slight itching, but no crawling, one sting. But at night, I can guess I will probably feel a crawl or two on my feet, and an odd sensation like skin slightly twitching when I lie down.
I also experimented and noted that when I binged on sugar my symptoms were exacerbated. I eat almost no fruit now including juice, lots of raw and lightly steamed veggies. The one thing I notice though is that I get discouraged by lack of variety and backslide with dinner rolls and ice cream, which is why I am hoping to expand my repertoire of tasty recipes that my family will also enjoy. When one is coming from a diet of desserts and espresso, the blandness and lack of sugary excitement in a new diet proves to be the biggest challenge. I really don't itch on the whole, but do have momentary itchiness and smaller than mosquito bite symptoms which go away in a day or two. This is all from the point of having scabies like symptoms beginning in Feb. 05, with crawling sensations and black flecks over my whole body which are now limited to a few in my feet, and the granules which I still have though to a slightly lesser degree.
I credit the improvement to ionic minerals, including liquid ionic sulphur, some pointedly anti-fungal supplements such as olive-leaf extract and to an improvement in self-care, sleep, diet, water (I never drank it--only lattes) and foremostly to restoring relationship with God through repentence and prayer.
Your story is encouraging. What I would like to know is how your symptoms decreased. What did you notice as you continued on the diet? Thank you, guest

no smoking? what the hell does that have to do with anything? LOL to be honest with you I have no idea...but for some reason it's supposedly able to trigger candida symptoms, and also interstitial cystis symptoms. I don't really understand how it affects this condition, but for some reason the anti-candida diets mention that so I was basically just passing that info along. Weird huh Maybe the people who come up with these things are such health gurus that they slip in stuff like that to make you want to stop smoking, lol

Your story is encouraging. What I would like to know is how your symptoms decreased. What did you notice as you continued on the diet? Thank you, guest ] Well the first thing I noticed is that within one day of not eating sugar or yeast, the itching wasn't as severe. I was still getting the little pricks here and there, but it wasn't like having the case of scabies from hell that doctors say isn't there. Arghhhh that drove me NUTS, I would be at work and I would be scratching my chin and cheeks for like 5 minutes nonstop! I never really got the lesions per se (lesions that formed on their own) but I sure did notice that whenever I got a lil cut or had a scab, the fibers would be all up in that shtuff. Do you guys know what I mean? I had never experienced that and it began happening along the same time as when I noticed the flakes, fibers, itching, and other initial symptoms. I think people who have had this for a lot longer have the lesions far more, my boyfriend's mom also had this disease and at first we thougth I caught it from her! But the yeast candida is infectious and can be caught between people. That's one thing I'm going to discuss later. Soon after I began the diet my body parts stopped getting all tingly and weird at odd times. When I shaved my legs, my left leg would always get super prickly and there would be nothing I could do. Another strange thing that occurred is I noticed that whenver I got upset or had a panic attack, just my left leg would get really prickly and all the hairs would stand on end for as long as I was upset. None of this is going on anymore-I can shave my legs and they don't get goosebumps. Now, I was using neosporin cream to heal the specks of stuff that were under my nails and that worked beautifully (I posted about it a while back) and my nails are still doing great. A significant thing I noticed is that I no longer produce the massive amounts of the flakes/fibers/whatever you wanna call them, from either my pores or out of my hair (which was the first place I noticed them). The fibers were quite bothersome and they were all gone in about 2 weeks. I haven't been tired like I was. I don't know if I can really attribute that to the new diet or the suppression of symptoms. Hope this helped u some. I think people will have varying degrees of responses to the anticandida diet. luv Jess

Hey, Jess. I, too, am glad you came back with a new 'tude! I know you were frustrated before... And I have sure said some things in my life I have regretted. Shoot, in the last week I have! Anyway, I think you and ChemG both (Well, everyone!) are on the right track. I know there are docs who are working on all this...but I TRULY think we have all figured it out. Candida diet has helped us, as well. In fact, I haven't been on here in a while because of it. But as soon as we ran out of Glyconutrients (and other herbal stuff we were doing) and began slowly adding back in the 'yeasty' diet...well, guess what. Weird black specks are back. Occasional stinging feelings. Itching. Occasional crawling. 'Sand' coming out of my skin, ears, MOUTH! etc....Anyway, same old same old again. I am a Texas girl, and starch and sugar are just way of life here! This is going to be very difficult, but we have to stick with it. All of us. Thanks so much for everyone's perseverance. Love everyone. Oh, and I still believe in the Mansanto (however you spell it) thing...
To the poster just before me, I am praying for you. Just keep reading. When you get overwhelmed, take a few days off and try (I know) to not think so much about it, but look to Christ for salvation and His healing help. He hears us, and will answer our prayers in His own way and in His perfect timing!! Guaranteed.
