One of my pet peeves is receiving information via email that has been forwarded a dozen times, showing all the email addresses of previous reciprients. Maybe some people don't know there is a better way, maybe some don't have the capabilities, and maybe some just don't care.....but it's very easy and your email buddies will thank you for using an email stripper. EmailStripper is a free program for cleaning the ">>>" and other formatting characters out of your emails. It will restore "forwarded" or "replied" emails back to their original state so they're easier to read. It also works well for copying info from websites and forums (such as this one) that have darker colors in the background. After stripping the info of all the original formatting, you are left with a clean base of information. www.papercut.biz/emailStripper.htmAnother program I would be lost without is Hidden Menu. I have incorporated emailStripper into this as well as a screenshot program, my address book, dictionary access, and other sites/programs/files that I access on almost a daily basis. Once Hidden Menu is installed, you can drag it to any part of your screen edges that you would like for it to be....mine is in the top left corner. It stays hidden until you run your curser over that spot, then it pops up and you can click on the item you wish to open with immediate access. I have found that I use the email stripper every day and this way, you can access it no matter what you are doing or where you are....on the web or off. Hidden Menu is the perfect answer to your need to launch programs. When Hidden Menu is not in use it is invisible, saving you valuable desktop space. When you move your mouse to where it's located on your screen, it pops up, allowing you to launch your programs, files and shortcuts. (New version allows you launch your program by hotkey) Hidden Menu is very easy to manage, and it uses a tiny amount of system resources. You will soon find that it is the very best way to launch programs. www.download.com/Hidden-Menu/3000-2344_4-6217671.htmlBoth of these programs are free and I highly recommend them. If anyone else has some useful or fun program recommendations, we would love to hear from you.

E-mail stripper sounds like a good idea. I clicked on the site. I clicked on install. Then a box appeared that asked where or how it should be installed. At that point I got lost. The middle choice already was selected "copy to disk or install to disc"or something similar. This would probably be the correct choice. I do not recall how to copy something to a disc.
Helpers on this site, can you help me figure out how to instaqll this e-mail stripper program? I have windows XP Thanks Betsy (a beginning computer person)
P.S. I have 2 more questions for later. Ill include this one for now. Question: How to copy off the site with printer and not lose the words at the end of each line near righthand margin. Typically when I print, every line is missing a word or words at righthand margin. It's hard to make sense of what I copy. Thanks again--

Betsy, when you go to install the program it will ask if you want to save it to your computer or open it - I would open it. After it downloads, the window will pop up and guide you through the process of installation. They usually already have a file chosen where to store it and I'd just leave that and click okay, then go on and complete the process. There might even be a step in there asking if you want a shortcut to your desktop and you do, so be sure to click on that then you can finish the process.
As for your printer, it sounds like you don't have any margins set. You probably should go to your Help section of the printer and it will tell you standard margins for your particular model.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

Betsy,
I always just 'copy and paste' anything I want to copy from here into a New Word Document...as then the sentences are moved to the next line for you if they go beyond the right margin for a normal paragraph by itself. You can then select "print perview" to see what you'll be printing before you do.
Another program I like is called Snag-It...you can download a free trial...but you will have to pay for it in the end....and am not sure how much it is, but I installed it at my old job for a few of the lawyers, as I worked in the IT Dept. Snag-it will let you copy anything on the screen from pictures to the entire screen if you want to, and then you can paste into word that way....but I honestly think 'cut and paste' is your best option. I ALWAYS do the 'copy and paste into WORD thing, and Never print straight from the origional place, only because sometimes you get more printed than what you want, and word will adjust the words' placement for you. Good Luck and God Bless.
