But, tonight we talk to people who say they have real live bugs crawling out of their bodies. They're not alone hundreds say the same thing, but not everyone is a believer. 7's Ryan Schulteis takes a look at "Body Bugs."

Thanks Sid,
And thank you Kathy and Jose for keeping at it with the news people!
I don't know why "ONE" doc won't just give a Morgie the chance to show them, how REAL this is. They rush us in and out, and "because they see nothing in a few minutes" they disregard everything. If one of these MORON doctors that keep saying this is DOP, would stop and simply look, they would see the same thing too that we do, and especially the live bugs.

Yes thank you JoseJ and KathyJ for having the courage to be interviewed!!!! This actually infuriated me upon first reading it and I had to cool down. This is a devastating condition. Then I started thinking. Maybe they are not just being ignorant and judemental or dismissive. I think it is simply INCOMPREHENSIBLE what we have to some folk and that is their way of dealing with it emotionally. DENIAL. Because IF they were to in fact accept this as REAL then they would also have to accept the fact that they themselves are suseptible to the same condition. At least that is my rationale...at the moment. Keeps me from punching a hole in the wall. hee hee. Just kidding. I don't do that....naww... I'm a pussycat... ~Bugsy

I think Kathy should take a trip up to Mass General and let Matthew Avram have a look-see for himself. Maybe that's the problem. They refuse to look.

I'm with you there, Bugsy. Now no doubt there are those who know exactly what is going on, but maybe the numbers are not so great as we think, especially where general doctors are concerned.
Your ordinary practitioner or specialist treats what they have been taught, and expending extra energy on something they don't understand takes away from helping others in the ways they are qualified. I wouldn't be surprised if many of them are also in a denial of sorts, like you suggest.....it makes perfect sense.
I'm a "don't judge until you have all the accurate facts" type of person......I like to give benefit of the doubt to people (and everything), and I will believe you unless proof positive shows otherwise. Yet when I first started noticing all the craziness, I couldn't accept it or believe it was happening to me.
I had a learned behavior to totally trust the doctors who treat us, but it took awhile for me to realize that they just don't know everything. I've only had a couple who came out and admitted this to me, and I have more respect for them than all the others put together.
It's going to take a caring and motivated researcher to get to the bottom of all this, one who doesn't have the daily distractions of an ongoing practice. Most of our GPs out there do not have the time or inclination to drop everything else to help us, and I understand that. But that still doesn't give them the right to assume we all are only imagining this.
An excellent (but vanishing) breed of doctor is one who is open to learn as much from his patient as the patient learns from him.

Thank you Jose and Kathy. And thanks to the other people on the video too.
I just don't know what it's going to take to get this recognized but we've got to keep doing whatever we can do.
