Copying Text from Our Forum
Many people have a problem copying text from here due to the color of font that shows up. If you are copying text from LB and going to re-paste it in another post at LB, this won't be a problem. If you are copying to a Word or other type of document, you can use the Select All function (see Copy/Paste thread) to highlight your text, then use that program's color functions to change it to black.
If you are copying into an email, most mail programs also offer the function of changing the color of your text. Again you would use the Select All function to highlight your email text, then choose the color Black.
If you are using the Edit function to Select All instead of your mouse, keep in mind that with Outlook Express (and other mail programs), you would use the Edit function at the top of your Message Window, NOT the Edit function at the top of your page. This is how you would change the font color and type on any email you might be sending to someone.
Another great option is to download the free program Email Stripper.

This can be placed on your desktop as a shortcut (or in a program I use called Hidden Menu, which gives me instant access no matter where I am), and it's very useful. It will not only remove the color from any text you have copied with your mouse, it will also remove those annoying >>>>>>> marks you get from material that has been forwarded too many times incorrectly.

All you do is copy the text, place it into the Email Stripper window and it will remove all previous "text-altered" actions taken on the material. The program then gives you a copy option that will place the stripped material back into your mouse so you can start fresh with it.
*Tip: If you are tired of seeing forwarded emails with all the attached graphics, take the iniative yourself to use Email Stripper and start with clean copy before you forward it again......it only takes seconds and people will appreciate that you have taken time to do this. This program does leave a sentence at the end of your text about the Email Stripper and you would want to delete or backspace over this in most cases.
If you want to copy a post YOU have made on this forum, there are two ways:
1. Go into Modify, then Select All, then Copy and Paste.
2. Click on the thread and scroll down to your post, then place your curser at the very end of your text (this works better than starting at the beginning). Left click and hold the mouse down while dragging the highlighted parts left and then up until it has covered all of your words. Keep holding the mouse down until you're sure you only have the text you want highlighted, then use the Copy and Paste function.
Deleting Text from Your Messages
Instead of backspacing over a large amount of material in your compose box that you no longer want to use, use the Drag or Select All methods to highlight the text, then push the Delete key on your keyboard. In most cases, you can also highlight, then Right click to access a delete function.
If you are copying material received in a newsletter or other source, it's nice to remove any extra text at the bottom that isn't related to the article you're posting. Anytime you can clean up your posts and make them shorter and easier to read, it's nice to do so for the benefit of everyone else.
*Tip: When you receive an email that has been forwarded at least once and includes the names and addresses of recipients before you, please do them a favor and delete this before you forward it on to your own group of friends. Even if you just choose to hit Forward, then backspace over all the names that appear above the text, it is the "correct" way to forward an email, not to mention the right thing to do.
Copying Text from a Website
Some websites have a Print option which you can access and usually copy without all the advertisements - just make sure you stop the printing process, then copy the text by Selecting All or dragging your mouse over the material you want to copy.
If there is no Print choice for the text, most times you will need to use the Drag option instead of Select All - that will normally give you the entire page, ads included. So just start dragging your mouse over the text to copy it. If you have ads that are placed throughout the text, you may have to copy and paste several times in order to omit them but it can be done - it just takes a little more extra time. I always place a link to the article at the top or bottom before I save it to my computer, just for quick future access. You won't be able to click on this link once you've saved the text to your computer, but you can copy/paste it into your browser window.
