So many good photo's and information.
Thanks Angela for bringing this back up.
There are phases when I see these shapes. They come and go and I don't know why.

On page 3 here on this thread, something that looks to be the same to me, just one specimen seems a bit more "matured" . ctbarb's pic freaky's pic These look like the same type specimen to me. Both having the stem forming from the "pod" looking thing. (bottom one looks like a more matured one than the top, but of the same species)

Hi Toni, My pic is at 10x, this was actually one of the smaller ones...it measured approximately 3" in length I believe. Some have been as large as 5" in length. When they are removed orally, they are partially folded - the "tail" end is folded up to meet that larger section in the center, but the "head" portion is what comes out first. They are usually moving and I have to chase them around in my mouth to get them out...UGH! They like to hide between my teeth and I'm always amazed at how small they look initially, but when they are fully exposed, they are so much larger. I've also had some that look like Freaky's sample, and they are totally different from what mine looks like...even the tail is totally different in shape, etc. Perhaps Freaky's is the cocoon stage??? Since it's encapsulated??? All very interesting, but how do I get these things from coming out of every orifice in my body? Guess I shouldn't worry about it - remember, I'm DOP! Hugs, ctbarb

Thank you for replying. I've been really curious.
You know..3" is HUGE like the length of your finger?...and that's what's folded up in your mouth?
You know something funny...I thought these specimens were super tiny, and this morning I was reading about different 'plant' seed pods, and one looked like yours and Freaky's, but I thought...nah that's not it, even though they look the same, because the ones in the article were the size you're saying 3-5"!
So now reading your reply, that these AREN'T tiny itty bitty things....I'm REALLY wondering.
Thank you again!
