Hi Kammy The weed in the lawn called Plaintain is so cool. Long ago I saw photos of people using it as a paste to cure recluse bites. The photo may still be in the links at www.curezone.comIn Light Lynn

I don't see Glenn's lesion thread - someone asked me to pass this along to you, Glenn... and it's good information for all of us - so I'll put it here: "Hi, Kammy! Thank you for your contributions to the forums. I don't post anymore but still keep up with things as much as I can and log in here to talk with some long-time friends. I hope you don't think I'm presumptuous, but I see that you're a member of Lymebusters, too, which is why I'm writing you. I just read poor Glenn B's post and I know of something cheap and not harmful that he might greatly benefit from. It's called Neem, and I swear by it. I feel so sorry for him, I was hoping you might kindly pass this info on to him, since I'm not a LB member. Two places I know to get Neem: VitaPal.com sells Neem products, and MountainRoseHerbs.com sells it in bulk powder (cap your own). Local health food stores may have some products. Mine quit selling it, after raising prices a lot, because people were stealing it. Garden departments sell the oil. Thank you for passing this on, if you think it's worthy. The following was posted at redicecreations.com this morning, which is why it's fresh on my mind: NEEM - A Tree For Solving Global Problems www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8MsIpkqZuINeem (Azadirachta indica) has worldwide medicinal and agricultural applications as a non-toxic alternative to synthetic chemicals for both curing and preventing disease. Neem seed oil is like a dream come true for the old snake oil salesman...1001 uses out of a single bottle! The claims made about neem hold up under scientific scrutiny. The bark, leaves and oil of the neem tree have been used in India for several thousand years, and are still used today. About 75% of Ayurvedic remedies contain some form of neem. Indians call the sacred neem tree "the village pharmacy", and have limitless faith in its abilities. People value neem as a natural insect repellent and pesticide, they use it for skin care and skin disorders, and many also take neem leaves internally. Neem oil is used on humans, on animals, and on plants, for a huge range of different problems and diseases. These are not just folk tales. Neem is the most heavily researched herbal remedy in India. Scientists have identified over 150 active substances in neem, and many of those proved to be as effective in laboratory studies as the folklore claimed they would be. US companies tried to obtain patents for neem, and the patents were revoked. The Medicinal Uses of Neem Oil, Leaf and Bark: INSECTS (eg Head Lice, Whitefly, Weevil, Caterpillars, Fleas, Moths), WORMS, FUNGI (eg Athletes Foot, Yeast Infection), BACTERIA (eg Leprosy, Tuberculosis) and VIRUS (eg Malaria, Flu), ANTIPATHOGEN, IMMUNO-MODULATOR, ANTICANCEROUS, ANTIVIRAL, ANTIFUNGAL, ANTIALLERGEN, ANTIDIABETIC, CNS EFFECT, ANTIHEPATOTOXIC (liver), WOUND HEALING, CARDIO-VASCULAR, SKIN DISEASES (eg eczema, psoriasis), DENTAL CARE, HAIR CARE, ANTI-HEMORRHOIDS, ANTI-PYRETIC (fever), ANTI-HISTAMINE, ANTI-ARTHRITIC, ANTI-INFERTILITY, CONTRACEPTIVE, ANTI-OXIDANT, ANTI-LEPROTIC, AGRICULTURAL Uses: STORAGE OF GRAINS, WOOD, FISHERIES, PESTICIDE (kills Threadworms (Nematodes), repels slugs and snails, but is beneficial for spiders, bees, wasps, ladybirds, birds, bats and earthworms), ANTI-AFLATOXIN (toxin produced by fungus on many common commercial crops such as cotton), FERTILIZER, FORESTRY Uses: improvement of soil, wind breaker, mulching, HOUSEHOLD: pest repellent, fuel, soap PETS: wash your dog or cat with neem soap or a neem shampoo, and you'll discourage biting insects, ticks and fleas, ringworm, mange mites, any skin disorders or fungal infections." THANK YOU!!!!"

I don't get it I thought Obama was going to be good for the US. Please excuse my lack of understanding of the US Gov. I really thought he was a good guy, non of this makes sense Oh Lordy, this is politics and political opinion, which we know - if you ask - you will get a different opinion from everyone and these kind of subjects usually just cause arguments. I haven't studied this new 'plan' too much, so - I can't say for sure what my opinion is - other than... any new bill coming up today does not appear to be for the general benefit of the people. I'm sure if we look - we will see that it is controversial? I think it's interesting that that one senator is sitting there with a sign that says - 'What bill?'... meaning - is it even out there for us to see and read? (for our senators to see and read?)... and if it is - how many hundreds of pages is it and what's 'buried' in it? I saw a youtube that gave an opinion on it... let me find it...

Someone pointed out this heavy metal detox recipe, which I can't remember if it's the same one I posted earlier but it's worth repeating. I forgot about cilantro's heavy metal detoxing capabilities!!
"Chelation Pesto Recipe (Heavy Metal Detoxification)
CHELATION PESTO (Thanks to Gayle for this recipe)
Coriander (cilantro) has been proven to chelate toxic metals from our bodies in a relatively short period of time. Combined with the benefits of the other ingredients, this recipe is a powerful tissue cleanser. Two teaspoons of this pesto daily for three weeks is purportedly enough to increase the urinary excretion of mercury, lead and aluminum, thus effectively removing these toxic metals from our bodies. We can consider doing this cleanse for three weeks at least once a year. The pesto is delicious on toast, baked potatoes, and pasta.
Ingredients
4 cloves garlic 1/3 cup Brazil nuts (selenium) (I'm allergic..so I used almonds...worked great) 1/3 cup sunflower seeds (cysteine) 1/3 cup pumpkin seeds (zinc, magnesium) 2 cups packed fresh coriander (cilantro, Chinese parsley) (vitamin A) 2/3 cup flaxseed oil (I have also used olive oil) 4 tablespoons lemon juice (vitamin C) 2 tsp dulse powder Sea salt to taste
Process the coriander and flaxseed oil in a blender until the coriander is chopped. Add the garlic, nuts and seeds, dulse and lemon juice and mix until the mixture is finely blended into a paste. Add a pinch to sea salt to taste and blend again. Store in dark glass jars if possible. It freezes well, so purchase coriander in season and fill enough jars to last through the year."

Kammy yes, GREAT stuff.
I'm a cilantro nut myself - I eat it in fresh salsa, on taco's on burritos, and even left over pork sandwiches, cilantro and mustard, OHHHHH YUMMY!
Plus I take the supplements too.
The supplements (cannot be taken every day though)
They work best to take them for a couple of weeks, then stop for a while...and then resume them again.
I'm not really sure why, (actually I don't remember)... you know how that goes, reading so much you get things criss crossed with other things, but I do remember about the part of "not" to take them "daily for life".
The supplements are a "on for a while thing" then off for a while.

Ty, for that information, Toni - didn't know that, that's good to know. Here's something I'm seeing today that might help some of us? Has anyone used this?: www.herbalcureindia.com/products/triphala.htm"Triphala is a matchless herbal formulation that has been a gift of ayurveda to this world. Triphala since centuries has been an herb of choice for an ayurvedic physician to cure any kind of disease. Since ages it has been a house hold name in Indian civilianization as it is the most easily available herbal supplement that has the potential to treat any kind of disorder especially related to the gastro intestinal tract."

I just had to show you this, heheh since we're on the Cilantro subject, and...really cilantro can be added to just about anything. I'd made these and had taken a picture of my (Cabo Burgers) last 4th of July - to share with some friends that I thought might like to make the same thing too sometime. They're easy, and best of all, super yummy too. The avacado (I know...I eat TONS of ground pepper as you can see the "cado's" are all peppered out)... but see how Cilantro can be PILED high on well... anything actually ;D These "particular hamburgers though are called Cabo Burgers" because of the combo of goodies on them. They're definately not low-cal, but, oh...they're good. I put almost a whole handful of fresh cilantro on each one. ;D www131.blibs.com/editor/working/129917037028812?3680240796

Yum, yum, Toni!... I'm just looking around today and see this - it might help someone or us?: Mustard seed puts the heat on bladder cancer. www.environmentalhealthnews.org/ehs/newscience/mustard-seed-stops-bladder-cancer-growth/"A study with rats finds a plant compound abundant in mustard, horseradish and wasabi stopped the growth of bladder cancer by one-third and completely prevented metastasis – the cancer invasion of surrounding muscle tissue. Additionally, the food tested – in this case, a mustard seed powder that naturally contains the allyl isothiocyanate (AITC) compound – was more effective at controlling the cancer than the purified form."
