Hi to all of you.
I ( tried to) translate my story in English. I did this because some of you may think why the heck I am going on and on about dental resins. I hope yo can make some sense out of my English. ;D
27 aug. 2007
Two composite fillings on the front teeth.
When the dentist applied the adhesive ( with a syringe, not with a microbrush!), he suddenly pulled back his hand and was angry with his assistent. He said to her; Next time, don't make so much bonding. He did a step back and waited for a while.( 10 a 20 sec. I think.) Then he said to her, look, and they both looked in my mouth. After this he went on with the treatment as if nothing happend. He blow-dried the adhesive, ( never rinsed or flushed anything!) applied the composite and cured this with UV. The assistent avoid my look during the rest of the treatment. On my way home I was very tired and "heavy".
In the following days/weeks I developed severe flu-like symptones and could barely climb the stairs anymore because I had severe breathing difficulties. I am a smoker but never had any problems before. I could climb the stairs ten times a day without any problems. At that time I did not make the connection with the adhesive. Because my teeth where painfull I went back to the dentist. It felt like my gums where under the fillings. He filed/removed some of the filling, but it brought no relieve.
In december 2007 a small piece of a wisdom tooth broke of. It was on the left side, but I found the piece back on the right side. I had to take it out with a tweezer, because it seemed to be stuck in a thick, slimy layer. As soon as I pulled it out, I got terrible pain, like razorblades where dancing in my mouth. ( gums, cheeks, palate) I felt down on my knees, so painfull. This feeling went on to my throat, head and intestinals and after this "pain attack" long, nylon'like fibers came out of my mouth and facial skin. I could feel them come of from the insides of my cheeks and/or snap from the fillings. The fibers that came out of the skin looked and felt like spiderweb, very fine and sticky. At that time the fibers had a lenght of 10 a 15 cm. ( I am not familar with USA measurments) When all this horror happend, I remembered what happend at the dentist and my quarter was starting to fall.
I phoned him but the practice was closed for a couple of weeks, so I wrote him a ( angry) letter and told him that his "technical mistake" made my life miserable and that I wanted my money back. He answered my letters ( all 8!) but refused to give me my money back because of the time he spend on my teeth. He denied that he applied the adhesive with a syringe, said he used a microbrush, but he did not. In a next letter I said that I would go to the police to report maltreat. One week later I got my money back.
I kept on writing him. I wanted to know for sure what was in the syringe. He said that it was a etch-fluid, but this should be rinsed/flushed of again. I clearly hear him say bonding, during the treatment. Why did he say bonding when it is ( according to his letter) etch......?! A long time ago I did a course nail styling. The materials/ technic are very similar. The fluid in the syringe had the odor of a monomer. (Heavy/sweet)
I made an appointment with another dentist. I went to him in feb.2008. I told him what happend and that I was scared and in pain. I also said that I could feel it in my nose. He started to laugh ans said that it was impossible that the adhesive caused my misery. He said that my front teeth where worthless and that I needed a partial denture. I did not want that. (The other dentist said that my teeth where to good to pull them out and advised my the restaurations.) I showed the new dentist a bag with the fibers, but he barely looked at it. An assistant came in and took me to another room for some X- rays. When I came back in the treatment room and the dentist looked at the x-rays he said that there was bonding between my teeth but this was not the cause of my troubles. ( yeah, right.) He send me to his assistent to make a new appointment for pulling out my teeth. Then I remembered that the bag with fibers was still in the treatment room so I asked for it. The assistent said that she probably throw it in the bin so I told her that I want it back. Together we looked in the trash ( she must have thought that I completly lost my mind he he.) but they dissappeard out in the blue. And so was the dentist.....I still think that he took the bag to check it out.
In november 2010 I send him a email. I wanted to know why my lips, nose and eye balls where visible on the X-ray he made. He refused to answer me and said ( in an email) that adhesives are not visible on X-ray. He said he could not help me and wanted to close our discussion. My former dentist wrote in one of his letters that he used Cavex Unibond. I looked this up on the internet and guess what. It is a radiopaque ( and fluorid releasing ) adhesive, so it is visible on X-ray. In juli 2010 I asked my doctor for a blood research. The fluorid level was 15.8
Normally it should be between 0,5 /10.5. Perhaps this was much higher short after the restaurations and maybe this caused the joint-bone pain? I guess I'll never know....
Because the dentist couldn't/refused to help me I went to my family doctor. This was in march 2008. I told him my story and showed him the fibers ( new collection). He had trouble not to laugh. He said he never heard of bonding, so according to him it had nothing to do with it. How ignorant is that....?!
He advised me to see a internist for my swallow/stomach problems. About one year before the treatment I also had some stomach trouble, but it was very different and got cured by it self. The internist took two biopts, stomach and duodenum. There was focal atrophy in the stomach. Conclusion, mild chronic inflammetory, there was no bacteria. The internist said that she did not see "glue" in my stomach. She also wasn't familar with the material. When I came home I got severe burning pain all over my body and had breathing difficulties. After a coughing fit a fluf came out of my mouth and the pain stopped.
In may 2008 I went to ACTA where 4 dentists ( one of them was a dean dentistry/prof. material science!!) looked in my mouth. The did a saliver test. It was 20 times to thick. According to them it wasn't the bonding.....I told them that it felt like a rope was pulled under me when I sit and that it felt like I swallowed a thick elasic band that lived a life of his own in my body. Two of the dentist took a short look at each other. This look said more then a thousand words....I did not tell them how I have seen my skin moving. This was so awful. One time I was standing in front of the mirror and it looked like this same rope moved like a spiral underneath my skin. ( from groin to neck, went over to my face.) I could not believe what I see and was hoping/praying that I've lost my mind. This could not be real! I tried to ignor this and refused to look when I was feeling it again. ( Now I'm sorry that I did not video it. It was so bizar.)
They advised me to check my breast implants and check out if I had cystic fibrosis. I could not believe that this was their advice after showing them one of the X-ray's. I'm not walking on my hands...... (But to be sure I followed their advice, both research where negative. No leakage, no C.F. ) They said I convinced my self that the bonding was causing me this horror. I think they told me a bunch of lies. I am not sure why; to protect the spilling dentist/college or to protect the material....
During the c.f. research the docter said I have lung emfysema, gold lll, caused by smoking. Can't argue with that, smoking is a very unhealthy habbit, but my breathing difficulties started shortly after the fillings. One year later when I visitid the lung doctor again he made a new thorax X-ray. The emfysema went from Gold lll in to Gold ll. That is odd because emfysema doesn't get better. It can stabilize, but not heal. Ofcourse I'm happy that the results where better, but it is all so remarkable.....I showed the dental X-ray to the plastic surgeon who checked the implants and he asked me if I had permanent wrinkle-fillers in my face. I do not. Again, very remarkable he was asking me this...
In june 2008 I had to go to the hospital for gyn. surgery. I have precancerous cells ( for 20 years, not a part of morgs) and every now and then they have to remove some suspicious tissue. After surgery I went home and then the veins in my arm started to swell from my hand to my shoulder. ( the intravenous system for the anastesia was placed in that arm) I phoned the hospital and they advised me to come back because they thought it was trombosis. They did an ultra sound and blood research but all was oke. I had to stay in the hospital for one night for observation. The next day they send me home. After a couple of hours again I got severe burning and cutting pain and after a coughingfit a fluf came out of my mouth. When the fluf was out, the veins on my arm went back to normal and the pain was gone. This can't be just a coincedent happening twice after doctors cutting in my body.
I was so sick and tired of doctors not listening/ not believing/ some of them lying to me that I stopped visiting them for a while. Also my physical and mental health did not allow me to take action. I was so scared, confused/foggy and in pain. I never knew how many kinds of pain there are. Now I do. In jan. 2008 my grandchild was born ( my daughter and grandchild still lived with me). I wanted my kids to live a normal live, and not want them to see me like this. I could move mountains before the dentist accident, now I was a weak, sick, scared bag of bones. I lived in my bedroom for two years. Cried a lot, sleeped a lot, like I was in a coma, thankgod for that...., hell is a party compared to morgs.
In july 2010 I visited another doctor. ( He was also a dean dentistry, but I did not know that at that time. By that time I already read some info about resins etc.) I told him the story and he believed me. This was the first doctor that treated me with respect. He said that he would look into my medical/dental records and I had to come back the next week. I also let him look at the letters from the dentist and myself. During our next meeting he said that he knew what probably caused my troubles. He said that the large amount of etch acid ( dentist letter) killed all the bacteria in my mouth, including the good ones, and this situation made my mouth "available" for yeast/ fungus. He said he could see the ( according to him candida) fibers on the palate and near the saliver glands. He said that all the other doctors/dentist over looked it...Again I could not believe what he said, but I shut my lip. He never took a swab or culture. He gave me daktarin mouth gel that I used for two weeks. During my last visit he said the candida was gone. Again no culture was taken. He asked me how I was feeling, and at that time it was oke. Altough I did not believed him about the candida (I believe that there is/was a candida infection but do not believe that the fibers are candida . When this just started the long fibers looked like fishing line), he listend to me and treated me with respect. That made me feel good. He also phoned my ( new) dentist and said to her that she must replace my fillings, also the amalgams. My dentist said that she did not think it was necessary to replace the amalgam because they where still intact so they never got replaced. To be honest I'm not sure if I want them to be replaced; composite and resins are just as bad.....This is a real struggle for me; don't know what to do. I never was affraid to see the dentist, but after this horrid experience...
During the first conversation with the doctor he asked my what I thought that was going on in my body/ brain. I tried to explain what I was feeling and what I thought that was going on. He interrupt me a couple of times to tell me how brave and intelligent I was. ( ha, that was a very nice compliment to a high school drop out
)
A month after my last visit he phoned me to see how things where. I said that i did not believe that the fibers where candida and that the fluid in the syringe could not be an etch-acid, because the dentist should have flushed that of again, which he did not. The doctor became angry with me and said that I had to let this go. There was not much left of the kind man I meet before....I had in total 4 visits from 2 hours. I never received a bill ( which should be about 800 euro) , nor did my insurance company. The lady I talked to ( insurance company) also thought that was a bit weird. She send me a very big bouqet of flowers the next day. I was so touched by that.
A couple of weeks ago I asked my family doctor for a candida culture and blood research/fluoride. This was positive. He put me on Fluconazol capsules for one week. This past week he did another culture, I'm waiting for the results. ( I wonder if polymers can "mimic" fungus/yeast. read so much about polymers/monomers, it's amazing how versatile they are. Very creepy stuff ) , or that morg sufferers just become very sensitive to fungus/yeast...) The fluoride is back to normal (10.5 )
In jan. 2011 a small piece of the filling came of by it self. I got headaches untill the next day when a fluf came out of my scalp. Since then my symptones are mild to moderate and became manageble. Nausea and throwing up is gone. The last time I throw up was a couple of days after The filling came of.
In march 2011 I came across PCI's website. I cried my eyes out for days. This can't be all coincedents.
www.parasitetesting.com/morgellons.cfmI think it is ridiculous that medical doctors are not aware of the toxicity of these ( not only dental) materials, where millions of people are exposed to.

I think the adhesive was mixed with saliva and mucosa ( oral, brain, intestinals, airways ) for a very long time and formed an elastic film/ network on the mucosa. ( absorbed the amalgams so heavy metals/ mercury could be involved?!)

Many in vitro studies have shown that the polymerization
reaction that produces the cross-linked polymer matrix from
the dimethacrylate resin monomer is never complete and
adverse reactions are due to the release of nonpolymerized
monomers such as triethylene glycol methacrylate (TEG
DMA) or 2-hydroxy-ethyl-methacrylate (HEMA).
quote
Chemical degradation is caused by hydrolysis or
enzymatic catalysis. Unspecific esterases and human salivaderived
esterase may readily catalyze the biodegradation of
commercial resinous materials [24, 26, 38]. Interactions
between resin monomers and commercial composite resins
with human saliva-derived esterases and pseudocholinesterase
occur in the oral cavity and they contribute to the
degradation of composite resins. Incubated in vitro with
cholesterol esterase for 8, 16, and 32 days, resin composites
release 2,2-bis [4(2,3-hydroxypropoxy)-phenyl]propane
(bis-HPPP) and TEGMA. Depending on the material (lower
filler vs higher filler composite), and consequently, on the
matrix/filler ratio, lower or higher amounts of bis-HPPP
and TEGMA are produced between 0 and 8 days [71].
Water or other solvents enter the polymer, leading to the
release of biodegradation products, namely, oligomers and
monomers. This form of erosion leads to weight loss of the
polymer. Softening of the Bis-GMA matrix allows the
solvents to penetrate more easily and expand the polymer
network, a process that facilitates the long-term diffusion of
unbound monomers.
tinyurl.com/6z6szv6This could be a possibility for the fibers coming out of morg sufferers skin. ( the material "grows" to the light) I also think that the spilt adhesive is "locked" in/on the tooth surface/enamel.

Since the bond to enamel is stronger than that to dentin it results
in the polymer pulling away from the weaker
dentin bond as the restorative material shrinks on curing.
This creates a space at the cervical margin of large
proportion with respect to bacteria cell dimensions.
Even worse, the light-activated dental composites
contract towards the light source and therefore away
from the cervical margin on setting.

I think this is happening when my film gets damaged ( wisdom tooth, biopts, surgery, piece of filling that came of)
All these incidents caused a similar reaction. After the ( painful) reactions a lot of fibers emerge. I think the visible skin movements are caused by crazing. I don't have lesions or sores on my skin ( tho my skin aged a lot and had lesions on the oral mucosa) I think that sufferes with skin issues are also allergic to the materials.
Crazing

This is a text from a users guide. Most resins/ adhesives have similar ingredients so I guess that they behave the same on the mucosa.
Effected areas may whiten from protein coagulation, but such whitening should disappear within 24 hours. If such whitening does not disappear within 24 hours, immediatly contact a physician, and the patient should be so advised.
My oral mucosa ( insides cheeks, upper lip, palate, uvula) has a lot of whitening.
