Sulfodene can be found at drugstores, grocery stores and maybe at pet stores. I found a bottle a few days when while cleaning out my "stash," and decided to try it on lesions. The brand I have is by Sergeant's, and it's to treat "hot spots" on dogs. I really liked the results, so I used it a few more times and even covered it with Hy-Tape. Big mistake. This stuff burns like fire, but after the burn it really seems to have an impact on the lesions. Don't do this. The primary ingredient is a known carcinogenic and has a high rating as a major pesticide. We're supposed to use this on our pets? What in the world are these people thinking? This chemical kills all sorts of critters and many water-borne organisms, particularly wastewater organisms. Since my thinking often runs to water-borne organisms as a major contributor to our skin disease I was eager to give it a try. www.scorecard.org/chemical-profiles/summary.tcl?edf_substance_id=149-30-4#hazardstinyurl.com/y2lktr Chemical: 2-MERCAPTOBENZOTHIAZOLE CAS Number: 149-30-4 Chemical Profile for 2-MERCAPTOBENZOTHIAZOLE (CAS Number: 149-30-4) Human Health Hazards Hazard Rankings Chemical Use Profile Rank Chemicals by Reported Environmental Releases in the United States Regulatory Coverage Basic Testing to Identify Chemical Hazards Information Needed for Safety Assessment Links

Oh goodness Sid...
I just read you taped over the medicine. I'm sorry that medicine burned you like that. The Hy-Tape is zinc oxide based which makes it very impermeable.
Yesterday I watched a program on TV about glacier activity, and divers that literally dove 80 feet down into the inside of a glacier where there were small lakes of water, and that water was below freezing temperatures. They wore "dry suits" they're called, because of the extreme temps they were to endure during these dives, but what I'm getting at is they used "zinc oxide" on their bare faces to insulate them from these extreme cold and deep temperatures....that's how "impermeable" zinc oxide is.
And the hy-tape is that too. Just have to be very careful with putting anything on the skin using that tape. I don't use anything underneath when using it, only because most products need some air/breathing ability, which skin needs a bit of oxygen when any topical is applied.
How is your skin today? I sure hope it feels better.

there's other sulfer-based stuff you can get for humans that doesn't have MERCAPTOBENZOTHIAZOLE (which sounds vaguely related to a benzimidazole aka fenbendazole). one is called "pomada d'azufre" and can be found in the "ethnic" section of major drug stores in so-cal. www.dlclaboratories.com/English/azufre%20information.htmthe other is called "Sulfa-Derm" and can be found (at like 5 times the price of pomada dazufre) at health food and herbal stores www.healingedge.net/store/page252.html
