In regards to septra, bactrim AND calcium deficiency--could there be a link?.
In reading the link provided here, about all the negative responses to this drug, I also read that it causes calcium deficiency and if you start out deficient you are in big trouble if you add Septra.

or allergic to sulphur....maybe the key is to take it very slow at first while taking calcium

Yes, definitely, if you don't know if you're allergic to sulfur or not, you might want to check. I've read online about people getting EFFED up by it because of allergic reactions. There are lawsuits and a website devoted to suing the manufacturer of Septra because of bad reactions.
I took Septra and when I stopped, the bugs came back, almost instantaneously. I was fine while I took it.
