Ok, so last night, I'm reading your (ant's) posting, looking at thrips on the net, and what should fly past the screen of my computer but a ...thrip. Looked just like the picture, and it was an unusually large one, about the size of a tiny fly. So, usual protocal. I caught it on tape and lay it on the kitchen counter.
This morning when I went to show it to my daughter, I noticed one of those 'fiber wyrms' was right beside it. I started messing with it and found it was coming OUT OF THE THRIP. (speechless...)

itchingntexas thats quite a find I haven t been able to do much research on thrips yet but i do know they infest cats the fact that you found a worm coming out of one could suggest (whether the the thrip is parasitic or not ) that they could harbor parasites just like the tick does making the thrip an intermediate host if if the thrip is a parasite-----well you have heard of parasites having parasites ?
your discovery is well worth noteing and I am" thanks big time ;D
