I have CFS, possible Lyme (equivocal titers), Mycoplasma Pneumonia (chronic), CMV, HHV-6 and Candida.
I have been having night sweats on and off since 2000, but they are now nightly. I go through episodes where I lose a little weight and have trouble gaining it back. With the night sweats I itch and get a rash of what look like bites around the center of my chest and my collarbone. They look like bug bites but are most definately coming from within and it feels like my body is trying to get rid of something leaving these marks that don't easily heal. They look like "pinchers" and are two pronged and are not large. There are no fibers I can detect.
I also go through episodes of brain fog and vertigo, some blood in stools, and sometimes a light fever and headache. Also arthritis in hips and weak legs and gluts.
My illness started in 1995 (possibly before) with heart arrythmmias, panic attacks, and chest pain. I think what ever I have has been in my neuro system for a while and is also causing inflammatory problems with sun exposure (this is why the Marshall Protocol may be a good idea).
Sounds like Babesia or Bartonella to my Dr., but repeated tests are negative. He has never seen bite like marks like these and although he is an LLMD he is sending me to another infectious disease Dr. (I've been to many!).
Any idea what is standard treatment for this as he is going to treat for Lyme and co-infections if nothing else pans out.
I am seriously thinking of doing The Marshall Protocol as many Lyme patients are doing better on this after many years of heavy abx.
What abx do they use for Morgellons?
Also, I live in Upstate NY and am wondering if you know of any MD's who are aware of Morgellons in my area (NYC or Upstate NY).
I lived in LA, CA from 1996-2003 which is when I got sick.
Thanks,
Chris
