Yes. I am getting better. LOTS better. Been "stamping out embers" after having put out the fire of itching. But, I am not sure of a sure-cure as of this date.
I have noticed that other people who are "better" still check back or are possibly just asymptomatic.
So . . . It might not be a bad long-term purchase to get a new and more powerful microscope.
One that can document what I see with photos, maybe even go back to old "specimens" and document those too.
I checked the DigiBlue QX-5 microscope. It says it goes up to 200x. I have only gone up 100x but if I am going to get something better, I'd like to get something that does better than 200x.
Pile mentioned that at 400x he can see the movement of balls doing some activity. Now, 400x sounds more interesting than my puny 100x handheld microscope!
Any AFFORDABLE recommendations? I am a non-geek layman who wants to share photos so anyone else who has the same stuff happening can relate better.

qx5 Is about the cheapest and it hasn't changed much from qx3 except that they put better lighting on it
Still ether or q5/q3 are only 200 pixels which makes a grainy not too clear picture If you want to have a crystal clear pic you should get a microscope that is at least 1000 pixels or above
Those microscopes run about $100 at the low end. -- I think if you can afford a few more dollars for a clearer picture it's Worth it
When I get done with what I am doing I will see if I can find the one that I wish I had that is $100

Thanks Ant - the quality of picture does matter since I want to document this stuff. I'll do some googling too - I thought someone would have a suggestion off the top of their head. (no pun intended!)
I didn't mean to throw the work on someone else.
If I come up with anything good, I'll post it too.

Here is one find: www.microscope-depot.com/seriesM_cam.asp#accykitA bit more than I want to spend, but looks like the best bet so far. Just want to confirm that the eyepiece, which says 10x, means 10x in addition to whatever is in the microscope eyepiece. Wait, would that mean 400x times 10x? No, not possible. If the photo is only going to be 10x, then that isn't going to work. QH (nongeek)

Thats OK I enjoyed going shopping as always I wanted to say that they have some qx5's and qx3's up for bid on ebay at vary good prices at the moment you might watch them till the last minute and see if anyone bids on them If not or if there aren't many bidders to run the bid sky high you could get one for a song I didn't mean to sound so negative about the Intel microscopes they are a good microscope for what they are toys --------I have the QX3 I payed $15.00 for it plus shipping I only have two complaints not enough pixels so the picture isn't as sharp as I would like it Also the light source is not adequate enough at 200X you have to add an exterior light to see anything I am told that they fixed that in the qx5 all my pics were taken with the qx3 and they aren't too bad for a toy microscope

Thanks Ant for the good leads. I just checked eBay - I'm still leaning toward an upgraded version - looks like some good package deals there.

I got my new microscope and have been getting better views of weird stuff. Dragged out old "samples" and got better views of that stuff too.
BUT, made one mistake. The digital camera with the microscope came with a tiny software disk. That's good. One problem, my computer doesn't have a slot that size.
Ooops.
I did try taking a picture by putting my digital camera up to the microscope eyepiece. Had to take 10 pics to get one good one.
I really wanted to get the photos done and find out if anyone else sees the same stuff. Yesterday I thought I saw a thin clearish segmented microscopic wormy thing from a "hot spot" scab underside. (yeah, since my little experiment with not taking my supplements, I had a flare-up and picked at my hot spot) I got a photo of it, but it would probably be better if I got the microscope camera to work.
I may need to see about getting another disk thingy put on my computer if I want to use the microscope's picture taking ability. There's an "expansion bay" labeled on the front of the computer, so it's do-able.
All this high-tech machinery! I asked my daughter to put my cell phone on vibrate while we went out. It took her 5 seconds. Days later I am still going through all the menus on the cell phone, trying to put it back on ring tone, but nothing changes the setting.
I'm feeling a tad dinosaur-ish.
