Has anyone tried using products and soaps containing Sodium Hydroxide (lye). I have been using for about a week on a non healing 1 year old lesion on my forehead and the stuff I have coming from that and off my body are kind of weird. Anyone else?

I am getting mine from a company in Missouri and it doesn't feel greasy. I am also using some lotions that contain it. I am having some things happening here. I am using it after washing down with 70% ethyl alcohol. The lotion is just a vehichle to keep the sodium hydroxide on my skin. I have so much crap coming off me, I don't really know if I am making myself worse or better. I have a forehead lesion that I have had for about a year. Short of using kerosene and motor oil, I have pretty much tried everything else on it to no avail. I don't know what to think. The callous has come off, and......geish....I don't know how to describe it yet.

OK, I am having some thing happen here but I am not sure quite what to make of it. Is anybody out there that has some input? I have been using the soap and lotion containing sodium hydroxide. I am getting all sorts of activity again and white things, long skinny white things, pearly white things, grey things, wormy things, specks, crystals.........black specks...... my forehead lesion, of which by the way, I have had for 1 year, looks awesome. The best it has since I developed it. I am sloughing chunks, specks, really I am not quite sure as I broke my microscope moving around this country. It is even affecting the hypopigmented scars I have acquired during all of this. Smoother, edges less pronounced. With all the activity, I am really trying not to panic. I don't have anything major deveoping but it would seem I have tiny spots in which things have popped out of. Today, I was in full sun and had four black specks pop out of my lips. I was with someone, and he also saw them. Also, with my continued application of this lotion and soap, my forehead lesion starts to immediately itch. Doesn't look bad at all but I just don't know? Any ideas?

Hi frito Im with ya' their' --Its hard to tell if they are comeing or going most times-- and thats the hard part about this crap not knowing if your doing any good it gets so busy and whats makes it worse were left on our own to figure it all out for our selfs My first reaction when I came down with this crap was to stop all the busyness -- All my experiments were geared towards that end - But then I thought about that and I came up with the hypotheses that if there is something that you try that makes the critters extraordinarily crazy then you are probably effecting them somehow someway and it has been my experience that at least for me that this is true I found all sorts of stuff that made the critters go nuts but I found that I needed a break too much got to be too much-- harder to find was something to stop all the action you can stand so much purging without losing your mind This bath that I posted about in this thread: new on this board...any treatment suggestions? --is the first thing that did that and I'm pretty sure at least for me that It killed the critters dead even so it was still a long road to get to where I am at now new on this board...any treatment suggestions? lymebusters.proboards39.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=rash&thread=9914&page=2

Sodium Hydroxide mixed with carrier oils from plant derived organics, is really the only true soap, the other garbage on them market is all petrochemcial and fragrance oils. Skin Deep Org is trying to take down the toxins in soap and skin products. Especially Fragrance oils and Petroleum Jelly. If you go to www.certichem.com you will also find that infants are now urinating plastics, pesticides are hormonal disruptors, fragrance oils are up to 400 undeclared chemicals, Lotions that say fragrance without divulging where the fragrance is are poisoning people because the Human Skin is the second liver. Phahthlates are causing systemic diseases and are being linked to many cancers, low sperm counts, agressive behaviors ect. The interesting thing is that anything bought in Plastic Jars now are creating an estrogen mimicker 7X stronger that the estrogen that we create. If liquid soap doesn't contain potassium hydroxide or bar soap doesn't contain sodium hydroxide it is not real soap. Google the 10 most dangerous chemicals in skin care. I have been on all organic skin care now for 6 months, with no Ureas, fragrance, dyes, and all plant derived essential oils and have seen a great difference in my skin. But I also PH my diet, use a PH Buffer, Pleo Albicans, Sodium chlorite and Soverign Silver. But that is just me. I have stuck with this protocol for the past 6 months and feel and look better. It is hard to PH your diet so I take a PH Buffer from the health food store. I drink lots of Acai Juice and don't use chemicals to clean with. Only Non Surfactant cleaners, Vinegar, Bakiing Soda and Borax. I allow no pesticides in my home except essential oils of Neem, Eucaptylus, Peppermint, Geranium mixed with Borax. Bathe in Epson Salts, 1/2 cup of Borax and Organic Soaps. It has been a huge lifestyle shift but I am so much better. I have realized I had to go to the old fashioned way of life, except I have to drive my car and become more green. This worked for me, but it may not be for everyone.

This is great. Thank you for your input. What is a good botanical line one could use? There are many and perhaps some of you out there have had some experiences? The sodium hydroxide, I have been mixing with lactic acid and my skin has definately changed in the very short time I have been using it. Unfortunately, the lotion I am using it in is not organic.

There is a Group on Yahoo called Lotions, Potions and Soaps all the women and men on the Group make their own organic soaps and it's been around a while. Alice who is the head of the group is really great. Please be careful with any sodium hydroxide as it is a toxic Alkaline. Remember that Sodium Hydroxide is LYE and will burn the heck out of your skin. It has to be soaponified or mixed with oils and water in order to render it a safe PH level. Never, ever use just plain Lye anywhere on your body or you will burn a hole in your skin. I have seen Lye alone mixed with water crack glass as it is so caustic. So just remember don't just go out a buy Draino and put it on your skin, or any acid for that matter. I don't want to endorse one product as everyone is different, and I don't want to push anything on everyone. Just learn what is in the soap and lotions you are using. I have a big rule of thumb though. No propyls, hexanes, ureas, mineral oils ect. Mineral Oil is just cleaned up Petroleum with fragrance oils and not a mineral in it.
