www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/08/070815122354.htmScienceDaily (Aug. 16, 2007) — A mysterious epidemic of thyroid disease among pet cats in the United States may be linked to exposure to dust shed from flame retardants in household carpeting, furniture, fabrics and pet food, scientists are reporting in a new study. The danger of contracting feline hyperthyroidism might be greater in America, where people have the highest reported PBDE levels worldwide, the study said. Also, by the late 1990s, North America accounted for almost half of the global demand for PBDEs from commercial materials like furniture or upholstery, the report added. The epidemic of hyperthyroidism in cats began almost 30 years ago, at the same time when PBDEs were introduced into household materials as a fire-prevention measure. Although the disease was first discovered in the U.S., it has since been diagnosed in Canada, Australia, Japan and many parts of Europe. Hyperthyroid disorders have also increased in humans--former President George H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush have the disorder, and even Millie, their Springer Spaniel, had contracted it.

Excellent find, I really think our bodies are suffering from immense toxicity from our modern lifestyle, somehow, this is opening us up to Morgellons, perhaps letting whatever fungus this is take hold, or working in unison with it? We use those very good filters in our furnace/air conditioner that filter out extremely small particals and I'm so glad.

Grady, I feel the same that there might be a uninson taking place with fibers shed and the electrical and magnetic particles working together.

Toni,
I don't know about feline hyperthyroidism...
...but our house is a big giant dustbowl. I don't matter how much I vacuum (with a water-filtered Rainbow) or how much I wipe the furniture with vinegar/water with a rag. We even had a very expensive whole-house filter installed with our air-conditioner. We had out a/c ducts cleaned. Etc Etc Etc.
Now we have more dust than before! It's everywhere.
After a couple of days you can write your name on any horizontal surface. The drapes get dusty. The bedding is dusty. And we don't even have a dog anymore!
Of course the dust gets into our lungs, and it makes our eyes feel all fibery.
There's gotta be a solution to this mess. Do you know of any?

Very interesting Toni,
Possibly explains why when I moved into this apartment with new carpeting that is why my first week here brought on the crawlies. I suspected it was it and the new carpet does "shed".

Kmarie and Jose, yes, and please look at this too (just saw your post right before I addressed this to Jose). You know what really might work great? And it's not horribly priced either is a "negative ion" air purifer. Check this out and see what it does, cause everything around us is "positive ions" (which are not good). Airborne particles such as dust, pollen, smoke, and dander, typically positively charged, are collected within the unit and removed from your environment. The unit operates quietly without disturbing you while you sleep or work. No noisy fans or motors. It has an effective range of up to 400 sq. ft. www.amazing1.com/negative_ion.htm

I am guessing this dust is microscopic but the dust I have in my hone is coming right from me. Take scotch tape to it and then scope it, you will see the white gellish substance we give off that hardens along with the clear and colored fibers that arent not from clothes.

hahah Curly, after reading a few articles, I've talked myself too into getting one. ;D
Morgie, I certainly know what you mean. The little " clearish whitish" tiny looking things that float around us I believe are from us too. I've seen them, and I even had a fan blowing and yet this one in particular stayed right by me and didn't blow with the wind from the fan. It's like we're magnetic.

i always thought i had a really dusty house too. turns out it is the same stuff that grows in us and on us. look when the sun is shining in your house. everyone thinks it is dust, but in my house i see the white things and they are flying, floating in air. i see them on my skin all of the time. what is dust? it is morgellons. trust me, i have had this many years and did not know it. my whole house has this matter in air on floors, everywhere.
