The email of this producer in the link from the message support board below is not the same producer who emailed me about morgellons. www.hppdonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=5655.0I am not familar with this condition at this above forum, but they were contacted by "The Doctors" on August 6th.........*Keep in mind the morgellons show was filmed on August 7th*OK, so after a Morgellons show, they are going to cover what looks like to me in the forum at the link above..... drug use and disease it causes? I am skeptical....... But will try to remain hopeful. It's not even certain that Morgellons is going to be the first episode on Sept. 8th. I'll admit I don't know but ......What is the saliva they are talking about? What is HPPD or DP/DR? I have never heard of this. CBS Show "The Doctors" is looking for Salvia-induced HPPD or DP/DR ...CBS Show "The Doctors" is looking for Salvia-induced HPPD or DP/DR suffers., www.hppdonline.com/forum/index.php?topic=5655.0To see video: www.cbs47.tv/content/special_features/syndicated/default.aspx

How about they just cover the hundreds of thousands of deaths caused by their "cures" each year for starters

The first show I thought they were reasonable in the way they portrayed the lack of available treatment for morgellons' sufferers , are they now just sweeping us under the proverbial rug?

kmarie, i didn't know that a show for "the doctors" on morgellons disease was taped on august 7th. could you or anyone else please either direct me to the thread i've obviously missed, or tell me more about it? i watched the video you provided a link to, but it was only an intro to the new show.
up to this point all i knew about was when judith had appeared (and done so well) on the dr. phil show with the same doctors. will dr. phil do a followup with judith on his show or has her followup already been filmed and she's going to be on this new show called, "the doctors", instead?
i don't understand where any connection to salvia is being made to our disease, even after reading from a few other message boards besides the one you provided a link to. The people suffering from HPPD (Hallucinogenic Persisting Perception Disorder), DP (Depersonalization) and DR (Derealization) have developed that disorder from taking hallucinogenic drugs. it looks like more than a few of them have used a variety of drugs but appear to think that salvia was the thing that started their disorder. i want to hear more about that. i'd think it would seem that way if it was the last thing they did before it started. but i even read where one person just wanted help so bad that they were wanting to volunteer to be on that show and say they used salvia when they haven't used it at all. it looks to me like (aside from that person) they want to get the word out to young people that salvia is a dangerous drug. i think that's real commendable without taking anything into account. it must be a wretched thing to suffer with long after not using drugs anymore, but anyone doing hallucingens should know that's how they can do people. i'm interested in seeing that show on salvia to see why they would single only one thing out like that.
(gee i sure am longwinded tonite, huh?)
matter of fact, i just logged out and came right back because i remember one time i took an antihistamine that had DP (depersonalization) listed as a possible side effect. i forgot what it was, but it started with a "z". i only took one and felt disconnected from myself like i was in a dream watching everything around me and then i read that side effect in the printout from the pharmacy. i didn't take a second one. it was a bad feeling.

Teller, Gosh..................can I even find the thread? I will try, but it was a different producer who emailed me and asked for a "morgellons knowledgable person" to be with the regular host. I posted here and everyone made suggestions which I forwarded on............... It is going to be a 2 part segment about a woman who lives with her boyfriend who does not believe in morgellons. The producer told me it would be a "heartfelt" story showing what is was like living with morgellons everyday. I do not know who the guest is, I didn't ask her but I went ahead an forwarded all the suggestions here from all you guys. She wanted MY THERAPIST from when I first got this, but I really didn't want that after thinking about it and he is still my friend and is not a "MEDICAL" morgellons expert, but he watched my arm do the strangest things in the beginning when I experienced my first horror. I am hoping it will be a good show about how we suffer from the "being labeled dop". There is NO WAY that I can see them solving this? But maybe people who are suffering from various diseases such as Lupus, Fibromylgia, CFS, who watch will realize that they have this.............. Perhaps our ARMY of Morgellon Victims will grow that we can't be ignored. I do see too many people who have morgellons and say "fleas bite me". JUst last night............another patient said she is allergic to fleas and that is what is wrong with her skin. Now I ask................is it really? I just think many "morgies" will come out and say "HEY, I knew I didn't have allergies or dermatitis" The more of us the better chances we have that we won't be dismissed. That is what I am hoping. Though, it is "Entertainment" and anything is possible. I do pray for all of us that the outcome is sympathtic to us and educational to all those who watch.I just arrived home from work last night and so I should probably get some sleep. That is all I know about the show. I hope that answered your question. Going to sleep........Goodnight, Kmarie

OH, JT.......... thanks for the info and sharing your personal experience with depersonalization. I really never heard of this before. Very interesting and sorry you had a bad/frightening experience. Was it Zyrtec? (don't know if I am spelling that right)
Thank you, Kmarie

I read on a drug forum of a woman on Salvia who thought she was a pillow and another who thought she was paint on a wall. That sure can make you dissociate and wonder if the universe exists ! They did not even know that they existed as a person or probably often even as anything. Sounds like it just really fries the brain. Yuck.

gee what a terrible existence that would be, to take a trip and not come back from it. it's sad to read those message boards, but i read where one person made it back after having that left over disorder for something like 4-5 years. kmarie, thanks. you don't need to go to any trouble. i never even thought of trying that lymebusters.proboards39.com google search on the bottom of the page until now. i found the thread from before and just finished reading it. does anybody know if the OSU researchers were included in the aug 7 filming? i sure hope they took this opportunity, but any morgellons doctor is better than none. yeah, zyrtec was what that was. thanks, but it wasn't really a frightening experience but sort of a floating-like feeling like even though i knew i was present in the moment, it kind of felt more like i was i dreaming i was there. you know, too distracting to be sick and have that side effect on top of it at work. it wore off as the day went on. after i read the pharmacy paper i had at home on it, i called my doc and reported the side effect to his nurse and they said it should go away as i continued taking the prescription. since it did more than just give me a drowsy feeling like a lot of antihistamines i've tried, i said no to taking any more than that first dose. if i could have stayed home in bed to adjust to it, i might have given it a fair shot. anyway, that was my one time experience with that depersonalization effect. i know it isn't any kind of comparison to what HPPD, DP/DR is for those people on those message boards, but i just happened to remember that from quite a few years ago. -JT

Teller - this is Judith - and I have not been asked to participate in any other Dr. Phil shows or The Doctors show. I did call the producer back who had told me when my show would aire and I told her that I would send them fibers (which they did not follow up on) and that I would agree to go back on a show if asked - I have not been asked.
As to ALL the TV shows - all they want is faces in front of the TV - I do not believe they are trying to solve anything for us. If adverse slants towards our condition brings in a greater audience I feel that is the direction they will take! I am sorry that I feel this way but the media is controlled and it is not about truth, health or healing - it is about money, greed and numbers.

Hi Judith,
Thanks for answering. I didn't want to speak for you (not being on the show).
I agree, they will not find the answer. In fact, I would not speak to the producer on the phone after she said they wanted someone who would not
"change channels"
That statement confirmed that it is definately for "entertainment" and it was disappointing to hear her say that...............which is why I emailed the suggestions and left it there.
I don't know who will be the "morgellons" knowledgeable person. I know it's an entertainment show after that comment was made.
BUT, I will hope and pray it brings out more morgellon suffererers so that "our Army" grows and people will (hopefully) go back to their Physicians and say:
"I don't have an allergy" "I don't have Lupus" "I don't have dermatitis" "I don't have Psoriasis"
and on and on with all the misc. diagnosis people with morgellons have been given.
It won't cure, but The show will bring awareness and that is good.
(praying it is POSITIVE awareness!!!)
Kmarie

I have to agree with Judith. I have given up on the idea that somehow the media would actually care about the people they are making money from. Since our media nightmare I have lost my dad to this disease. I finally hit the bottom when my truck was repossed and I lost my home due to my incapability to maintain our dreams any more. Honestly, I still hope and pray that that one of these times something will work- if only for the children.

I agree, the TV shows are all about their station, money and numbers of viewers. Those are facts.
But, that works for us too, it's an even-steven thing.
They get what they want - just as much as we do.
They get the viewers (on national tv) and we get the same (the national viewers) too, which helps get the word Morgellons out there, because the more that hear it, learn it, then fear it.
People need to be afraid of this, it's a life sentence to hell or worse once it's contracted. I'd want to know if I didn't. I'd want my family to know if they didn't. I'd want my friends to know if they didn't. It's all about word of mouth after a show presents something. Then the talk begins amongst people.
There's no treatment, which makes this disabling and deadly, which we all know - and they're all learning too.
They (the public need to know).
So please, don't anyone give up on these TV shows, because that actually gives us MORE recognition that one 3 minute news segment that only airs in one city or a few.
And thank you to everyone who does put themself out there, because that IS what creates the talk about Morgellons that flames the fire to spread...(word of mouth) best advertising in the world, and it is the stepping stone to our help.

Teller, So far, I have not seen "morgellons" as a topic. Today's show: 2008-09-11 How likely is a killer flu epidemic, and could one strike suddenly and kill millions of people? Is shock therapy a viable form of treatment for some individuals? What can you do to avoid migraines? The Doctors tackle these subjects during a hot-headlines Tomorrow's show:2008-09-12 If you're pregnant or hope to have a child soon, you don't want to miss today's show! The Doctors give a crash course in what to expect when you're expecting. See an ultrasound from each trimester of pregnancy, learn about why you may have certain craving Notice they are all dressed in a conservative fashion?
