A few days ago Roberta wrote me, and this is what she said: "this is the first time that I have been out of bed in over two weeks. I have had bronchial bronchitis apl;us pneumonia and pleurisy. I am very weak have have been very worried about not contacting you. Next Tuesday I am having the lump cut out my head and back. I stayed at Christine's for a week and I a going back to her place after they have removed the lumps."
Roberta is so stoic, stubborn, and loving. She was going to take Kyra, her dog, for a walk, and then go back to bed. That's what she wrote yesterday. She feels badly for not posting, and wanted to apologize. The lump on her head is the size of a golf ball. I'm assuming this is major surgery, and she obviously isn't looking foreword to it. As strong spirited as this woman is, I'm sure she could use some support, maybe send her a PM. Also pray she never gets ole Iceberg near her again. She was the nurse that jammed the camera thing down her throat when there was an obstruction.
Maybe you guys believe this, maybe Roberta does, I surely don't know, but I don't believe things happen for a purpose. Maybe somethings do, but not what has happened to Roberta. She has been essentially crucified this last year, or two, and gone through more agony than anyone I have ever known, or heard about. Both of her hands have been injured to the extent she can't open her dog food for Kyra. She fell down walking Kyra and injured her ankle, and leg severely. These are just little things on top of the major things already wrong she's experiencing. To top it off, her heater broke, and not having the money to replace it, she continually fills up her hot water bottle and lays it in her lap. She does have a heated blanket that Kyra thinks is for her. I know cold isn't supposed to make you sick, but if you have a lowered immune system, I think this may have contributed to Roberta's present condition. It has been winter in New Zealand, freezing cold with horrible storms. Spring may be there now, but I doubt it's warmed up much.
Some support through our prayers for no pain, or discomfort is the first thing that comes to my mind, if you wanted to help in some way. I would think any type of brain surgery is quite serious. I don't know if we need to fear Robbie possibly not making it through this operation, or not. If you all could send her a PM, she may possibly get the strength she needs to tackle what lay before her. This is a time, I think, she would need us more than ever. She always puts her heart out for us. Please give her back some of the compassion she deserves, and constantly gives us.
Much thanks, freaky
PS. To the Administration: Robbie gave me permission to write this essay. ha ha

Roberta, I'll be praying for you too. When I read Freaky's post the quote came to me "Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee". When I read about folks who are down I think that is "me", maybe not now, but later, I know it to be true. So Roberta, I will be praying for you as if for my own soul. God bless and contact us when you can, I know it will be a while so we'll hold tight and await word. I actually read this last night and was too saddened to even post, though we've never met I care much for you. - Grady

I feel so much saddness in my heart right now. Robbie, you are a precious soul and you definitely have been thru the gammit of things lately. I think it would be good for all of us to pitch in and get her heat back on. There's no reason at all we should allow this to happen to her....... to be living with no heat in such cold temperatures. I want to help and I know all of you do as well.
Freaky, can you set up an address where we can send monies for her to buy a new heater? We must help her, we need to help her and I know we all want to help her. She's one of the sweetest spirits I've ever known. I will pm you now Robbie.
bunches of love, hugs and kisses ~~ bannanny

Oh Robbie, I want to say something meaningful, and all I can say is, I hope this is the turning point in your Morgellons and your physicians begin to understand more about your condition, and are more of a help than a hindrance. Love, Cynthia
Freaky,
Yes, I want to give monies for a blanket, at the very least. Kyra may keep the old one.
I know what that pleurisy is like, I hope she has a bed that makes it comfortable to sleep sitting up. Perhaps if we get enough funds we could send along a very fluffy/thick pillow to help with that. Whomever lives close to her, well, maybe this Christine could except funds and go shopping for the items,,, that would mean a lot to Roberta I'm sure. Or at least get them ordered online.
This is the first I've heard of the lump on the head, I do hope it is not painful, not on top of everything else. I wish for a successful outcome there. I can't understand with just this info why they feel surgery is needed. I never heard of surgery when the patient is that ill.

P.S. I'd be more than happy to buy you the same kind of heater I have in my room. It puts out so much heat it's amazing. You just plug it into the wall and it would be very very easy for me to send you one. It's called a Presto Heat Dish and it also has a night light that goes across the bottom of it. I got one cuz I don't like the heat coming thru the vents even tho I put filters over them ya know? So please just think it over and tell me I can do this for you ok?
big hugs ~~ Robin

Robbie,
I will follow your wishes. I am so glad to hear you have your daughter close to you, and she's willing to help during your recovery. Yes, I would guess your bumps are fluid, one would think your doctors would try to drain them first, prior to removal. But I reckon they know best. This disease loves to build enclosures. They store gel, fungus, fibers and I would imagine their food stuffs in them. I have spent hours looking into these enclosures. I recently realized the disease has built a wide band from the left side of my ribcage to the right. And when I try to twist at the waist now, it cuts off my breathing. But, I feel they are trying to make another enclosure.
Please don't waste energy thinking about me using peroxide. I would not be using it if I felt there was any chance of surviving this illness. The only supplements I use now are to ease suffering, not to extend my life. I'm so grateful for the life I had, but I am way past the point of contributing anything good to this world, and am anxious now for the end.
I guess I still can cheer all you others on though, and do. May your recovery come swiftly, we will look forward to hearing from you.
Love, Cynthia

Roberta,
Have they said anything about not operating if you still have pneumonia, & pleurisy? Maybe if it's on its last leg it's OK, but if you're still not much better, I'd think they would postpone it. Both are terrible options. I'd think they would be worried to put off removing the lumps any longer.
Most likely your lumps will be sent off to a lab to be analyzed. At that point, they would be out of the drs. hands, but you could ask your dr's nurse where they are going to, and see if he could get them back. If he/she doesn't cooperate, you might contact the lab yourself, and see if they would give them back to you. I would think your lumps would be your own personal property, but then, what do I know? Maybe someone here knows what to do in this type of situation. Whatever, though, you'll have to make arrangements before you go into surgery. That only gives you one day, unless Sunday is an option. It would probably be simple to tell if they developed due to morgellons. You just have to figure out how to get those puppies back, & I sure do hope someone here can help you if that's what you're wanting to do.
Do you have any ideal how long you'll be in the hospital? I hope you will feel so much better after the operation, you will feel like you got well. Our spirits will all be there with you in the operating room, so don't be nervous. We'll have to remember to stand back, and not get in the dr's way. My heart is with you, and I'll be holding your hand the whole time.
Don't forget to ask for your pain medication script to take home with you.
Much love, freaky

I have an idea. When one of my old docs was gonna do a biopsy of my boobs, he asked me if I'd like him to send a sample of the tissue to Dr. Staninger or someone who knows morgellons. I never had the biopsies done, but why don't you ask for that option? Have them send some of the tissue to a known morgellons researcher. I think it would be a great way for you to go. They can have their samples and a morg researcher could have some of the tissue too. It's definitely doable!
big hugs ~~ bannanny

Dear, dear Roberta - love you tons and am wishing you all the best. Maybe they should wait til your lungs are better. It is Essential to stay WARM when you have a lung infection. I tend to get lung infections and vitamin A and vitamin C and magnesium REALLY help. I mean REALLLLLLYYYYY. At least 50,000 units A when have a bad infection,as much C as you can take building up slowly just so you do not get diarrhea. And 300 milligrams of magnesium but only in the citrate or glycinate form as the magnesium hydroxide and a few others can cause diarrhea. Hugs, and more hugs and tons of L O V E to you, our DEAR Roberta Liatris
