My scalp has me in tears. It feels like things are popping out of it and it itches so much it actually hurts. For some reason the only thing that consistantly makes my skin feel better is lemon oil but is that making my skin too acidic? Should I try to block my pores or will that mess up biopsy? I called back to r/s it but now I'm miserable and wonder why I'm a glutton for punishment. My family says I'm so brave, determined, yida, yada,yo. hah! The way I see it I'm in denial or stupid (both probably). What intelligent person would continue to set themselves up for disappointment? That's me... chasing that ellusive aha! discovery.

They can just wash an oily spot with soap and water or alcohol before a biopsy. I hope they find something helpful.

Kiki
You were asking about lemon oil. Lemon topically is acidic. Only eaten/taken internally will cause the bodies normal reaction to become alkaline.
Regarding your scalp:
Something I've done many many times, and gotten the same results (so I can safely say this works) because of the consistency in trying this is:
Take 1/4 cup of ( plain ) white yogurt.
Put that into a jar with a lid and add 1/8 cup of 2% milk.
Shake that up till there's no lumps (it will be creamy smooth) then by shaking it up in a jar.
Then stand in the shower, or over the sink, and spread that evenly on your scalp. Allow it to become BONE dry. Takes a couple of hours. Don't disturb it while it's drying.
(just pretend you have a conditioning pack on your head) and then it's not so gross/icky.
If "tiny granules" form (which I think they will since you've got scalp issues)....those (salt size granules that form ARE what need looked at under a scope).
They contain the tiniest black specks (under a scope) that your doc or whomever sees this will be impressed.
For some reason (unknown to me) this application when left to dry to the (bone dry stage) WILL suck the black specks right out of your scalp and into the yog/milk mix.
The way you'll know it's worked, is because (normally) if the area on your scalp is fine....the yog/milk mix will dry sort of flakey like.
But...if these black specks are inside your scalp, salt like crystals will then form on your scalp, and those ARE what contain the black specks.
Worth trying, and it also relieves the scalp immensely because this (mix) sucks out the garbage that's lurking within.

Flyawaybird,
If you mean the (mixture of the yog/milk), it's best to put it on a clean head (no conditioner) left on if you use that.
I usually get into the shower (and pour that on), which I find it easy to do that way. Then all the excess that drips onto the shoulders, being in the shower makes that easy to spray off. Then when it stops dripping, I get out and it stays put. Or you can wrap a towel around your shoulders and put that on dry clean hair too, making sure it's saturated onto the scalp really good.
Just think of it as applying a "conditioning treatment". Letting it get bone dry on your head is key.
Also (washing it out) with an antimicrobial is probably a good idea too.
(I use antimicrobial Palmolive dish soap) then follow with regular shampoo and conditioner.)

Thank you Toni for the info......I will be trying the mixture of yog/milk.
I have only used Selsun Blue for Shampoo......anything else...and it seems to make it worse.
Thank you,
Barb

I too did "everything" out there in shampoo's. Salicylics, tars, oh...an array from A-Z. I hope you'll find the ultimate relief as I have with the easy plain yogurt and milk mixed together (and left on to dry) then washed out. Do this at least 2X a week (and you'll see). It is amazing how this works.
