Hi guys, & girls. Recently, I freaked out, and called an ophthalmologist. Old habits are hard to break. Since I lost my eyebrows due to what I assume is a fungal infection, this infection has really got a hold on me. I'm not sure how long it's been, maybe 6 months. Now it's invading my eyelashes, and they're becoming straight, and black, and have fallen out in little sections. Some are breaking off in the middle. My FMS Dr. told me to take Zinc, but I read it's really bad for you, although maybe I didn't get the whole picture. Looking under the scope at my false eye lashes that I tried once, they were covered in goo, & tiny things that looked identical to some sort of bug. My eyebrows grow back straight, black, and thick with a big black ball under the skin. It's a hideous chore attempting to pull them out. They don't want to come out. My last ophthalmologist who didn't want to give the disease any credibility refused to acknowledge that there were morgs on each side of my eye. She stated that they were the muscles that hold the eye in the socket, so my eye balls don't fall out on the floor. My brain seems as though it is stuck in the wrong gear, and causes me unfortunate feelings of stupidity. When I made my appointment, I may have brought up morgellons, but I have little recall, and none regarding that conversation. I hope I didn't. My problem is that I have no comprehension of the value of what I'm doing, so I was hoping somebody else might. I think when I showed my last dr.the white globs of goo on each side of my eye, that I believe to be morg material, I possibly didn't pull my eyelid back far enough for her to see it. I have to be looking in a mirror when demonstrating this. If the dr. could see it, would there be anyway to remove it, like with laser, or something? If he can't see it, remove it, I plan to switch the topic to the "fungus". If I knew that an antibiotic eye drop would help, I could just refill my prescription I already have. Now that I've purchased one of the top eyelash growth products, I no longer need the assistance of a concerned dr. in that dept., which leads to the final problem of attacking the fungus. That may just mean I continue my yogurt/milk protocol, or is there any reason to believe this issue could be addressed by a dr? or am I dealing with the wrong type dr? The fear of completely loosing all my eyelashes probably prompted me to make this appointment. Most often I miss my appointments, or get there so late I have to come back again. It is quite a stressful ordeal. Is there anyone who might be grateful they were able to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist? Can they do anything for me, or is this just a case of twisted thinking? Eyelashes do grow back, just like any hair on your body, I recently found out. This has calmed down my fear factor greatly knowing this. I got my re-growth product at Sephoras. I hope I haven't upset anyone with this lengthy babble, due to my inability to figure out what's important, & what's not. I just found out I'm hypo thyroid. Maybe that has something to do with my falling asleep every time I sit in front of the computer, or it's just because my posts are so long and boring I fall asleep. Thank you for any response. Hugs, & dead bugs, freaky

Hi Freaky,
I think hair fall-out is a symptom of hypothyroid? I am not totally sure but brittle hair can be hypothyroid too.

My eyebrows grow back straight, black, and thick with a big black ball under the skin. It's a hideous chore attempting to pull them out. They don't want to come out. FYI its normal for eyebrow hairs to have big black bulbs under the skin. That is just a hair follicle in its growth phase. It is hard to pull out because it is living and growing. When they are ready to come out its because they are in a resting phase and are white. You can see that old old hair follicles are easy to remove by running your hand through your hair. Loose hairs will come out and you can see the white bulb on the end. You should seek treatment for your thyroid problem, if you have not already. You should also see a naturopathic physician for a holistic approach to your ailments. I would cancel the eye doctor appointment unless you are having vision problems. Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants. Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines. Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Good luck. I urge you not to mention "Morgellons" to your doctor. Try just explaining your symptoms and that you would like help treating them. You can beat this. Greta

Freaky, The side of my right eye seems to have a bulge in the white part. I tried to show someone else but they couldn't see it. My eyes have been twitching badly for over a week and I think it has something to do with Morgellons. I have been to the opthamalogist 2 times in the past and they never found anything unusal except that one eye was out more than the other a little bit. Eye problems are definately a symptom of morgellons.

Bingo K-marie. I had no idea.Just 2 weeks ago my hair got split ends, and has been coming out by globs. Even though it's horrible, & I've never had a problem with my hair; I've always had nice hair, it's great to know why all of a sudden this happened. Mua Mua All my best to you, & your condition. You're so cute, & funny. I was so shocked and sad what happened to you. You're in my prayers. Thanks GradysGhostII. You're a real sweetheart. Wow, I had every one of those symptoms the last 3 weeks. It wasn't until I read your list just now that I was aware of any of them, give or take a few. I really got the shaft. My FMS dr. gave me the old fashioned thyroid test, & told me I didn't have any thyroid problems, but would give me thyroid if I wanted it. My Endocrinologist said the same thing. She looked straight in my face, & said "you don't have any thyroid problems, but I'll give you a prescription to Synthyroid if you want it". She's a pretty nasty dr. Well, since she said that, & because Syn thyroid is an inappropriate drug, I decided to get off it. 2 weeks ago my parents came over to eat dinner, & I fell asleep while I was eating which happens often. This time though, I started spilling my food all over the place. Next time I called them, they accused me of being a drug addict. All of a sudden, all these things started happening to me that I was aware of, but had no idea why they were happening. So, you have helped me GradysGhostII. Thank you so much. I was really confused, and depressed. It's a relief to know why things are happening, I swear. Hugs, & Dead bugs, freaky

Greta, thanks for the information. My eyebrows, now that I think of it, didn't fall out. I plucked them out. That was because I'm fair skinned with light eyebrows, & they started coming in pitch black. I've never had any problem plucking my eyebrows, in fact, I didn't really have much to pluck. This is due to the infection, the same one that is causing my eyelashes to fall out. Now, there are little black hairs all over beneath my eyebrows that I've never had before, that I have to pluck because they look nasty. I never looked at my eyebrows before under the scope, so I'm sure you're right about the bulb, but again, mine is big, & pitch black.
All your info is invaluable. Thanks so much. Now I have the amo I needed to confront my dr. with. Thank you for your reply. Hugs, freaky

mfromcanada, my eye has been twitching too for the past week. It's really irritating isn't it? Yes, I'm sure it's related to morgellons. Things are making more sense now. If it's related to morgellons, I should cancel my appointment. Things don't make sense if you don't relate them to morgellons, but I know in my heart anyone with a dr. in front of their name is unable to discuss anything new. I almost think they learn to humiliate patients as a tactic in med school if they're at a loss of words. Hugs, freaky

www.reuters.com/article/rbssHealthcareNews/idUSN0547202420081205UPDATE 2-US panel supports Allergan drug for longer lashesFri Dec 5, 2008 6:32pm ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec 5 (Reuters) - A prescription eye drug originally used to treat glaucoma is also safe and effective for adults who want the longer, thicker eyelashes, a U.S. advisory panel said on Friday. The drug, by Botox maker Allergan Inc (AGN.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), was first studied to help relieve eye pressure when patients began reporting an unusual side effect: eyelash growth. The company is now seeking U.S. approval to market the new use under the brand name Latisse. A panel of government experts said Friday a glaucoma drug from Allergan appears to be a safe and effective way to make eyelashes longer and fuller. At a Food and Drug Administration panel meeting, outside advisers overwhelmingly said years of data gathered from the glaucoma use under the name Lumigan showed the drops helped boost lashes. "I have absolutely no reason to question the efficacy," said panelist M. Roy Wilson, an ophthalmologist from the University of Colorado. Wilson and others also cited the lack of serious side effects with the drug in clinical trials. But many panelists raised concerns about long-term use and the lack of data on blacks and other minorities. The drug must be applied continuously or lashes will shrink to original size after a few months, according to the company. Panelists also questioned whether teenagers and other patients might use it inappropriately, although the drug would only be available by prescription. There was no data on patients younger than 18. "It's those teenagers substituting it for mascara that would concern me," said ophthalmologist Marijean Miller, a panelist from Children's National Medical Center in Washington. The FDA should require Allergan to collect more data after the drug hits the market, the majority of panelists said. The agency usually follows panel recommendations. If approved, Allergan's sales force could promote Latisse alongside the company's blockbuster anti-wrinkle injection Botox and Juvederm, which fills lines around the mouth.

Freaky, I'm sorry too you're having this happen. Could it be possible (since you can see the hairs growing) that there's like a layer of something over them? Maybe exfoliating the skin (that might be covering them) - the brow hairs might help? Since you can see them under there. It's hard to tell exactly without seeing what you mean though. I sure agree with the reasons too that Greta said, and that's what makes this so difficult. This is a very interesting link. The immune system, for unknown reasons, attacks the hair root and causes hair loss. It is most common on the scalp, but can involve any hair-bearing site including eyebrows, eyelashes, and beards. www.aad.org/public/publications/pamphlets/common_alopecia.htmlIf this is due to the immune (and there's no thyroid) problems, strengthening the immune with all you can might help too, because this is only resolved by the immune recovering.

Freaky :
No doctor can help us and as soon as we except that then can we personally work on ourselves and do what makes us feel better . I can only share my eye situation and what got them cleared up but remember This took about a month to get results and then they cleared up I still do this if I feel anything around or in my eyes .It didn't happen over night but it did get better ,
First I used Monistate cream on my eye brows every time i felt crawlers and I know u don't have any but you do have the makings for them so just try .
Spraying the athletes foot spray all over my face WITH EYES Closed stopped the crawlies and I still have to use it occasionally today .
I use a Good dandruff shampoo in the shower and Dry every part of hair with a hair dryer ( nothing on me or around me remains wet longer than the time it takes to dry it up period .
Antibiotic drops from my eye doctor used religiously took care of them in my eyes .. I was treated for pink eye ( Let em call it pink eye they give me drops for that and it kills the morgs off doesn't matter cause I know that but they don't) cause my goal was to get the drops Not to educate a doctor about Morgellons . I learned to keep my mouth shut about that period ! cause I started looking at what was my goal? and mentioning morgellons was getting me NO where .
keeping anti fungal spray ( store brand ) near by allows me to spray any where I have symptoms and staying on tetracycline for 2 years has helped tremendously .
Now I use Vi sine that gets the red out anytime my eye or eyes itch 2 drops and thats it , Some people will tell you not to use Vi sine But for me it works so if They don't want to use it thats their perocatrive .May God bless your journey and help you be consistent Love Moe

Kmarie, aside from being funny, & cute, you're pretty smart too! How exciting. I'm gonna get some Monday. I wish I had my face back, & didn't have black sticks for eye lashes, but hell, I still have my bubble bellied body with its additional poundage, & I can waddle around, & make bad jokes. ha ha Kmarie, you rock, you babe you. Big hugs, & smackers, freaky
Tony, I'll explain better when I get back from shopping.
Morgellonsmo1, thank you too, for all your input. I've been going around with my eyes stinging like crazy, & dying to put eye drops in my eyes, but didn't cause I heard you weren't supposed to. Is it OK for me to do? You know why you're not supposed to? Been meaning to ask that for a long time. Thanks again, Hugs, & no bugs.

Been off the puter for a week so just reading this freakers. I've come to the conclusion that we should all just make whatever appts. we feel we should make for whatever we feel is wrong, but keep morgs in our heads and out of the docs minds....... especially since our heads is where they wanna think it is with us anyway. WE know everything is morg related now, but they don't. So we just have to let them treat us for the norm and hope it helps our problem, even if it only helps a little ya know?
We have to start living like we used to and when we have an eye problem, a fingernail problem, a hair loss problem, a skin problem or any kind of problem, we have to be like we used to be about it. Maybe being that way again will help us more than not being that way has helped ya know? Hope that made sense cuz I'm right there with ya in the brain fog department girlfriend!
love ya's ~~ bannannas

Strange thing happened to my right eye this morning ( haven't had a problem for a year or 2 now)
I felt a hard crystal in my eye and it really hurt . I knew better than to rub it so I dashed around looking for my visine . Put two drops in STILL there . now I cant panic so I looked for the eye wash I had bought about a year ago and checked the expiration date few still good !Never put anything expired in your eye . I had stored the wash with the eye cup in a zip lock bag and I used it as directed on the package took two times to get the crystal out of my eye but thank God its gone .
I share this to encourage you that I am not all better but I now know what helps Me get things out or to stop bothering me. Mind you that was gone for almost two years but went away cause I knew what would get rid of it after 5 yrs or more living with the morgs
