I woke up 5 days ago with a very heavy feeling in my chest. It is now also in my back and I feel like I am being squeezed in a vice and it is hard to breathe. I tried to lay down and the pain was unbearable. I couldn't move or breathe and had to have my boyfriend help me in the upright position. It is so painful to cough I suppress it. The few times I did I had to look at the results!! SCARE ME TO DEATH. My lungs are Full of fibers. That was the last thing that happened to my dog before he died 1 year ago..He drowned of fluid in his lungs. He went thru the exact same symptoms I have in the same chronological order. Abcessed tooth, joint pain, Lost his fur (Shitzu's don't lose their fur) lost his hearing, vision, teeth, then the intense itching, he couldn't sleep and his lungs filled with fluid and he died. I will go to urgent care for a chest xray, I am just so tired of the DOctor's 36 to be exact and nothing has been done for me? Any advice? Has anyone else gone thru this? I never know what crazy new horror I will experience with this disease from day to day. I can't take anymore, there is literally nothing left of me. Will the fibers choke me of my last breath? They are coming out of my back by the thousands and I have no feeling in my left arm. PLease..Any advice,

Until you can get there use vicks all over your back and front. I had this happen where my heart and stomach felt like a hand was squeezing them. I kept vicks on the area thick for 24 hours and they went away from there. Hyssop and mullein and loebelin (sp?) are good herbs for the lungs. Hyssop is purgative and helps to relax the bronchial muscles. I would also be doing a decongestant to dry me up. They make vicks drops you can put in the shower to get the vapors in your lungs too. But I agree with Drawl, you should go see if you have pnuemonia to get meds.

Sunnygirl - I am NOT telling you not to go to ER as Southerndrawl suggests. But did want to tell you I've experience similar to what you describe and I'm still here. However, I did not have pain... just heaviness in breathing. And also a fluttering feeling in what I believe was my heart (for two days). I would get dizzy to stand up etc. I even called ER and they said to come down... (anything with heart they auto say that), but your pain with breathing is worrisome, so I hope you're on your way and not reading this message at the moment.
Also - I have coughed up fibers before (though not many at once), just red or blue that stand out in yuck phlem stuff. That was as long ago as 9 months soooo I'm still here. If that help to calm your fears.
Southerndrawl - May I share this and ask you... A year and a 1/2 ago, before any of us were sick (myself and two boys (then 4 and 6yrs), my 4 year old caught chickenpox BUT... it was for the 2nd time. I thought odd but Doctor said it happens. His 1st time a year before was mild. His second time was awful (in his mouth, bottom, eyelids, under his nails, etc. poor baby. Anyway, also weird is that his older brother and I got awful flu with him, and I swear to gosh I had two bumps on my stomach but of course it was probably mosquito bite or something. But now I'm suspect of everything. So here's where your story is similar... he gets over chickenpox and we also feel better (but never quite, low energy), He then gets pneumonia and they admit him to hospital thru the ER and put on IV antibiotics. Days later we get out and a while later pneumonia clears. He runs around playing, no fever/cough and it's almost summer now. One month later he gets again! This time full blown in both lungs. We go back and take more drugs then clears again. One month later... again! Three times. Crimmany! So then... so then he's fine and has never had it since. But that was the beginning of weird fatigue and heavy periods/headaches. My six year old start complaining of his heart/chest area hurting. I think it's gas. He goes to bed and later wakes up crying from it. I whisk them both to ER in pajamas around 1 am and doctor says it's pleurisy after listening to his chest and gives him some sleepy medicine. It was all around that time the my littlest one starts coming up to me throughout the day and say... "mommy can you get these spiderwebs off me." I can't see anything but I brush the back of him off thinking he must have ran through a web outside. Big deal. Then he starts saying this 3 and 4 times a week and without having been outside. But I never found it odd, he's 4 and rolls around on floor playing cars, etc. But then... he says "there are sparkles on my knees, can hyou get the sparkles off." I say babe you were probably sitting on them and they feel tingly/prickly when you do that for a while (like they were falling asleep). But he starts talking about sparkles on his toes at random times. Then I'd say where are your sock (while were at the store), and he say I don't like wearing socks because they make my toes sparkle. He wakes up that night and says... sparkles are falling on his face. He gets in my bed and wake up again saying mosquitoes are biting him. We go stay at my mom's for weekend and I was just about asleep when I felt little somethings dropping on my face to the point I can't sleep and I thought dry skin but I knew that's what I wanted it to be, for it felt like magnets. I started swiping at invisible webs the next few weeks before I realized what I was doing and this was same thing he was feeling. Then I started finding blue/red fiber when I q-tipped their ears (never noticing they moved for the longest time till they started stinging and standing on end)... good Lord... the nightmare was just beginning. And this is waaay to long but I've always wondered if it began with chicken pox virus or pneumonia since you had this happen as well. But then later came the mold we found growing in our house. And our toenails fall off and we get freckles/moles daily. Then... the weirdest rashes. Test pos for Lyme. I mean... what else??? I bought this 1950's house because it was charming and sweet quiet neighborhood with huge trees. I loved fixing it up and so on... we are about 20 miles from Air force base and even closer to airport in which they'll fly low at like 3am sometimes. Is it them spraying? The mold? The pox? Pneumonia? Lyme disease? Yeast? Our socks and q-tips tips that come pre-installed with sparkles anyhow? I think Bugs Alive's last post was right on... he saw evil all around. But I still want to attach reason and logic. But can there be any? Ugh!
Sunnygirl, I'm sorry for using your thread for my tangent... been happening a lot latey. I hope you're okay... please let us know.

Sunnygirl,
Your predicament is awful and I am sorry that you are going through this. It is better to sleep, when you can, almost sitting up. Drink plenty of water to loosen the phlegm. At this point, you don't want to dry your lungs as that will thicken the phlegm and possibly cause "plugs". Plugs are really dense pieces of phlegm, which almost always get infected. You want to cough as much as your body wants. It's your body's way of expelling the junk. Consume no dairy and try to move, change positions so that the gunk won't settle in one place. If you are able, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Comments to DOCP
In 1988 I had repeated rounds of pelvic inflammatory disease, 4 I think, treated with Flagyl each time and each time cleared but came back due to vigorous activity which seemed to stir up whatever was causing the infection.
By the end of the year the PID was gone but same thing: profound fatigue and "swollen brain" became chronic and have been ever since. I got some control over the fatigue/brain symptoms over the years but then 2 years ago this parasite thing shows up. Though I don't have the fibers, I have the crawling bug sensation so bad I can hardly go inside anywhere now, because the bug seems to be everywhere and the longer I stay in a place the worse it gets.
I am reluctant to try Schwartz' protocol because antibiotics have not been a permanent solution to any of my chronic problems since '88. It might buy us some time, at a cost.

Most likely it's pneumonia. I had it too. They thought I had lung cancer for 3 days.
Get your home checked for mold.
