I remember when I first realized I had Lyme Disease my mothers said she couldn't believe a tick could cause such destructive processes in a human being. She recalled removing untold numbers of ticks from her father when he returned from hunting when she was a child and claimed she never had an adverse reaction. She said that if ticks could have caused such serious problems in humans then the human species would have died off long ago. Her statements gave me pause...she was right. So what is it that happened? Evolution maybe? Mutation? I realized whatever happened it was swift. I am 60 years old so I remember in the early 70s when Lyme Arthiritis was the new big worry for moms. The first news buzz was that your child could develop a severe form of arthritis overnight...crippling arthritis. This was followed by news that a tick was the bearer of this horrific condition. Years later (1982) Willy Burdorfer found the spirochete inside a tick and Lyme Arthritis was rechristened Lyme Disease. I know many of you are fully aware of this scenario but what I have come to realize is that in order to get a grip on Morgellons we have to revisit the scene of the crime. To try to understand the beginnings of Lyme Disease itself. Anyhow that is the method of my own current madness. So I began to google things like "history of Lyme & history of the spirochete" Here is the very best info I could find in that vein. www.townsendletter.com/FebMar2006/lyme0206.htmMany of you have probably already read this but it well worth dissecting the entire article. Then moving on by adding the Morgellons aspects such as lesions; fibers; mutated insects in the skin; crystals; goo arising form pores; fungus & mold, etc. What I found really interesting is that I had all along overlooked the tetanus aspect of Lyme. This despite the fact that I initially had around the clock, virtually crippling muscle spasms. These spasms affected entire muscle groups at the same time. I never knew my muscles were that strong and the spasms were so severe that I feared my own muscles would brake my leg bones or in the case of chest spasms would rupture my heart. So tetanus explains a lot. I often wonder what came first my Lyme or Morgellons or where they delivered together? I have visions of hundred of ticks feeding off animals infected with botulism and tetanus whether by natural methods or more sinister ones. Could it have been that simple? Probably not, but still I wonder what new illness animals could have that would account for our malady? I am curious to know how many here believe they have Lyme and/or Lyme co-infection(s) and how many had Morgellons symptoms before or after their Lyme symptoms. I would love to know, as I'm sure you all would, if Lyme has so affected our immune systems that we later became victims of GMOs or some form of bio-insecticides or was Morgellons delivered along with Lyme. If we could somehow figure out when we had our first Morgs symptoms (mine were nearly simultaneous) we would at least have a direction. Karen

Karen,
I might not be answering the question as you're asking, but the reason is, well, I can't really, cause I don't know (which really came first).
What I do know-that haunts my memory NOW, is one day (we both, me and Mr T) became very sick (like some new flu got the best of us). This was probably about 7 ish or so years ago.
Mr T said EVERYONE at his work place was getting sick too! (which is where we figured he picked it up) and brought it home, like what happens all the time - in normal life. Someone at work gets sick, then it gets brought home to the rest of the family.
This flu-like symptom came over both of us SO fast and furious! All in one day's time, I could hardly breathe by that night, lungs felt tight, his too, and I said to him ( We must get some Levaquin NOW) - because this was like no other flu, as fast as all the symptoms hit us.
He called a co-worker friend of his (who's husband was a doctor) and he gave us both 10 days worth of Levaquin. We felt perfect by day 2, and continued our antibiotics till the 10 days were up.
Now HERE's what is SO mind boggling about this "incident".
3 of the men at Mr T's workplace who were also sick with this "flu", and their families (are also not doing well now). By the things they've said about their symptoms, ( I think they have Morgellons ).
They've all had prostate operations, been diagnosed also with MS, and are unable to work now!
ALL OF THIS CAME SO SUDDEN for these 3 guys and their families. And they're in their 30's and 40's.
And they had the same flu-like thing we got, which we'd figured it was just (some flu going around work)...which is why we got it too...just as flu's do....everyone ends up getting them usually.
But, from ALL that has occurred (us with Morgs) them with "probably Morgs" and all the incapacitating effects from that day on with Mr. T's co-workers.....I'm beginning to wonder if that was something "else".
Because ever since "then" with that "what seemed like a fast and furious flu"....no one has been right since.
And this "flu" that went around so fast and furious...we all initially got like a bronchitis like illness, instantly.

Hi Folks, I know exactly when I got this disease: December 8, 1998 at approximately 2:30PM...was bitten 8 times on my back by some type of arthropod. The arthropod was confirmed by a university entomologist...not the exact type, but the fact it was an arthropod. Three months to the day, the first eruptions were visible...crystal triangles poking out of my skin...hurt like the dickens, and it actually was a very painful sting much like a jelly fish!!! Once the crystal was removed, the pain stopped instantly. I knew then, that there were toxins of some sort being released into my body...and the hunt was on! Toni, the pix you showed with the 2 hooks looks very similar to my crystals. Mine were triangular in shape...one side had a serrated edge, the other side smooth. The shortest side had the 2 hook-like appendages. It also had a black or red dot in the center. They all were of different sizes, some large, some small, but all had the same characteristics. My husband would remove 25-50 at a time from my back...and he said that some would "fight or pull back" if he let go of the tweezers! I have had that happen to me many times as well. These suckers are definitely alive! No question about it...PERIOD. There have also what appeared to be black insect leg parts from those very same bite holes...even early on. I still see these shapes in samples today. This is not a natural phenomenon IMHO, like Chaos mentions, where did it come from in the 70's? That's when Lyme was created on Plum Island! They had been working with ticks since the day it opened...by the German scientists that the US "invited" to come here after WWII, so the Russians couldn't get them first. We've all heard the story and it is documented extremely well in Lab 257. Our own government contracted out for a company (we know who), to perfect a disease that would maime, debilitate, but not kill (not immediately anyway), the opposition in time of war. It has grown exponentially since then...whether by it's own programming, or by the introduction of symbionts in GMOs. I do not believe that it was an "accident" at PI, they were woefully negligent in their monitoring of their own enviorment and proper safety precautions - all the while, they were dealing with Level 4 pathogens!!! More "got out" than Lyme Disease.....they just called it something else and denied it ever happened. It was so easy to do: they had animals that lived outdoors in pens that had been inoculated with virulent pathogens...insects and birds would come by and feed on their feces! Once infected, anything that came in contact with their feces was also infected and were left to fly away! It's anybody's guess as to how many, how soon, and how deadly some of these pathogens were. As I've mentioned before, I live in the bird migratory path, and only 30 miles from Plum as the crow flies! Love, ctbarb

Barb, YES! The tiny whitish clear triangles!
At the very beginning of (Morgs) before I knew the word...I kept calling my sister daily telling her (that I had these tiny tiny) whitish clear triangles in my pores! This was actually the VERY first "visual" of anything I saw that I knew was seriously abnormal.
No matter what I did to remove them, the next day they were there again!
Do you think possibly these could be some kind of protozoa?
Believe me...I feel too this is a man made organism PACKED full of pathogens now, because I don't feel if we even tried to get this many bacterias etc at once, we could.
This all is looking very deliberate.

About the tiny white triangular things. I almost forgot, these were my first sign of Morgs too. I had been very ill and had just come to believe I had Lyme Disease and couldn't find a Lyme doctor. I was becoming more & more desperate. I remembered I had some Flagyl but it was prescribed for my mother and was far beyond the expiration date. I went ahead and took one. The old tablet dissolved on my tongue somewhat before I could swallow it. About a half hour later I felt something on my tongue, I thought it was a hair. I kept feeling for it and spitting to get it off my tongue. This went on for some time. I looked in the mirror and to my horror my tongue was split wide open and small white triangular things were emerging. They were easy to find because they stung like crazy like an electrical shock. I used my nail to remove them one at a time. Initially they felt soft but after a few minutes in the air they became hard, shell like. I used my thumb nail and broke one. It broke into pieces just like a tiny sea shell would.
I didn't have a microscope but used a magnifying glass and could see they were triangular shaped and appeared to have hairs or flagella extending from 2 of the tips.
I did not know a thing about Morgellons then nor did I follow up on this incident. It was a few months later when I applied Capsasin cream to relieve the pain in my knees that I first seen fibers emerging through the pores of my knees.

Wow, that is incredible and horrible Chaos. And yep, they sure do look like a tiny hair is extending right out of them too. I remember letting a doctor know there was flagella too with these specimens, and he bit my head off saying (there's NO flagella). Well...he never even looked, the idiot. Thanks for sharing that, because these things might be the "starters" possibly, or heck, the result of. But I think they're important for sure.

Thanks ctbarb & Toni, it is striking that we all seen such similar critters to start with.
I forgot to mention that during the time I had undiagnosed Lyme but prior to Morgellons I had a tetanus shot. Shortly after that the muscle spasms started. I didn't link the two at the time but now I wonder.
Anyone care to weigh in on the botulism or tetanus aspects of Lyme discussed in the link in my first post? Anyone else with severe muscle spasms or a tetanus shot just prior to Morgellons rearing it's ugly head?
I found it interesting that Botulism is very territorial attacking other bacteria; not allowing an infected person to get other diseases. That sounds like an aspect of Morgellons more so than Lyme. I've never read on the Lyme forums that Lymies don't get sick with things other than Lyme but have read that here.
Toni what line of work was Mr. T doing when you all became so suddenly ill?
Anyone,
If you were in charge & you were told that many years ago during government sanctioned experiments, numerous ticks had been weaponized and released into the general population either by accident or devious means, how would you handle the situation? By now these ticks have infected millions of people all over the world in a variety of ways and the disease they cause has mutated. It is now vectored by many different insects and through human contact. Keep in mind the mass hysteria & anger toward your country that could result from full public disclosure.
I've been contemplating this myself but am interested in others responses. I believe our answer may lie in the response to this question.
Thanks, Karen

I remember the crawling first. Then came the bite on my son in which turned into the classic bulls eye rash and EM that expanded over the lateral margin of his chest and the front of his chest. It was a biggie. Then came the Lyme and Bartonella. I had a more diffuse type rash and EM, not the bulls eye. Then came Morgellon's. This whole process seemed to develop over six years.
I don't believe we suffered from nymph ticks, but from birdmites. If these infectious organsims were being carried and dispersed through birds, well, I don't know. All I know is what we went through.

Chaos,
Yes, to the tetanus shot! I sure as heck had one of those a couple years prior to me learning I had Morgs. And you asked what line of work Mr T was in when we all got sick at the same time. (Sales), which was and is constant interaction with people - physical interaction (shaking hands daily)...which that gives me the hebe-geebies today just knowing daily it's happening.

I think I got two tetanus shots in the course of 18 months. forgot I had the first one and they gave me another, just to be safe. Morgs lesions came shortly after the second shot.
but I had the strangest symptom that I haven't heard anyone talk about ever about two years prior to that lesions starting.
woke up one morning and felt something in my nose, went to the bathroom to blow it. White powdery crystal like substance came out of the nasal cavity, and continued to do so for a little over 12 hrs.
very frightening.

The crystal structures see to be a common factor here, most bioweaponised organisms are crystallized , right? The N.I.H saying , Agrobacterium is nearly identical in protein folds as, Brucella Suis. crystal structure I think this article was the same as reported by the N.I.H . Maybe this explains your crystals. last article , lib.bioinfo.pl/meid:360940Sorry guys , I tried and tried but I just can't get this link to work right.
