Surgeons in Russia thought they were going to remove a cancerous tumor from a 28-year-old patient – but instead they found a 5-centimeter tree growing inside his lung. It happened in Russia’s Urals region while doctors were operating on Artyom Sidorkin, the Russian newspaper, Komsomolskaya Pravda Daily reported Monday. Doctors suspected Sidorkin had cancer after he complained of extreme pain in his chest and had been coughing up blood. "I blinked three times and thought I was seeing things," Surgeon Vladimir Kamashev told the newspaper. Doctors believe Sidorkin somehow inhaled a seed, which later sprouted inside his lung. The spruce, which was touching the man's capillaries and causing severe pain, was removed. To See the Photo click here www.mosnews.com/weird/2009/04/13/firtree/

YIKES!!! I hope they don't find anything like that inside of my lungs on Friday! However, those needles look rather familiar...they're all over my yard...and I find them in the house too, the dog brings them in on her pads. Ours are from the hemlocks that surround our yard - I think. That poor man...however did he stand it? I really can't believe that he swallowed a "bud or seed"...sounds like the morgs are sprouting! That's totally scary! ctbarb

Not Everything is Morgellons. They could easily determine if it were a little sappling with dna testing. If it looks like a little spruce sapling, then it probably is. It may even smell like an evergreen !
Actually, I am surprised that that sort of thing does not happen more often. Inhale a tiny seed, it lands in a warm, moist environment that gets oxygen and it grows. It has probably happened numerous times throughout history and perhaps in many cases the persons body broke it down - or not, and the person died from the "tumor". Best to wear a particle mask while breathing from now on .... only half kidding - who'd want to go through that !

Would there not have to be some sun light involved for a plant to grow in a persons lung???

GOOD POINT...... rhorn2006
So I wonder how did it get there ? Or what made it ?? VERY STRANGE ..

rhorn - You are right. Some degree of light is required for photosynthesis, and consequently for vegetation to grow. Some other explanation is needed besides inhaling a seed. Maybe another exists that isn't Morgellons. Bessie

Would there not have to be some sun light involved for a plant to grow in a persons lung??? rhorn, I dunno. Maybe I will try to ask a local tree man. Total conjecture here, but I could conceive of a certain amount of growth occurring with no sunlight. The needles, if they are needles, did not look too green and healthy. Somehow, I think that if it were deciduous (sp?) like a maple, those types with proper leaves may really need photosynthesis to develop much at all. Is photosynthesis mostly an issue with creating the green color in leaves and not necessarily required for small amounts of growth ? When I think of forests that have light-blocking layers of growth above stuff trying to grow low on the ground and with all the decaying leaves to get through - some of it still grows. But again, I am guessing.

Dont quote me on this, because I may be wrong,,,, but I dont think it is so much the light that plants need to grow as it is spectrum's of UV light,, even under a thick canopy, some UV filters down to the plants below,, depends upon the plants I guess... From what I recall back in high school science class,, fungus is the only thing that grows in total darkness,, like mushrooms.. could be wrong though.... Maybe the guy went camping, fell asleep out under the stars, and inhaled a pine tree?? I remember when I was a kid catching my dad asleep in front of the TV, and snoring so loud "in and out" that the living room drapes would wave in and out in rhythm with him... No joke!! In all seriousness,, I cant see how someone could inhale a seed and it develop "at all" without at least some degree of UV light,, and I dont see any kind of web-like root system running through anywhere, even if it could grow in total darkness... My guess,, and its only a guess,,, is that someone made up the the story and faked the pic to put on the net just for the fun of it (or) its real, not a normal type of plant at all "something else" agro related, that feeds off of that area of human environment and grows in the form of a plant as it develops.. From what we know about morgellons fibers,, there actually plant based life forms that have adapted to human DNA and grow with-in human tissues, forming complex plant structures.. From everything we have all seen with our own conditions,, would it be far-fetched to consider internal growths that resembled known plant life?? Liatris posted.... "I dunno. Maybe I will try to ask a local tree man" Copy that pic, show it to a tree man, and ask him if it could have grown to that size in total darkness from a tiny inhaled seed??? I bet he would say "no way!" ..... That's either someones idea of a joke,, or a growth related to a morgellons like condition..... Just my thoughts on it though,,, I could be way off base.....

I agree with you Rhorn. After my mom and dad each retired from their job of many years ...they started a tree farm (Christmas trees)....not at all did they intend to start this project, but it ended up that way. ;D This is such a romatic little story about them, as my mom and dad together now 60 years) are like the most romatic couple in the world. They really are! After they both retired from their jobs, my dad was still "on call" with his pager...for things. They LOVE RV camping and sometimes they were stuck in town, because of my dad being on call. Well...my dad surprised my mom one day (this was during Christmas time) and he purchased some property ( 5 acres) not too far from their home. He went and bought a bunch of Christmas trees, and planted them in a rectangled area...just enough so they could park their RV inside the tree'ed in area, so as to seem they were "out". He put Christmas decorations on every tree! It was a sight and a half! He did this so when he backed the motorhome into the retangled area, then my mom could open the curtains in the motorhome and look out and see these beautiful pine trees (Christmas trees) because he decorated them all just for her! This brings tears of joy to me, because my dad is something else. He's a great man! He did this all so my mom could feel they were 'out of town' somewhere in a beautiful scenic area....even though they weren't, because they were stuck in town being that my dad was 'on call'. I was in my 20's then and when I'd go visit them (as I lived out of town) we'd all hang out at the tree farm as it was beautiful ( 7,000 Christmas trees growing ) they had, and I helped out while there on the weekends. Cutting/pruning, weeding, watering...all that! Lots of work to grow nice trees. Pines need watered, sunshine and dirt to grow in. There's particular nutrients in soil that (if we had in our lungs) well...we'd not live though that part. So...for 13 years (till they sold that property) I got to learn about Pine trees. I am skeptical about this man claiming he had this seedling "growing" in his lungs, because it would take alot more than what our lungs consist of to grow them.

Violet you're SO sweet! I felt a bit silly after I wrote that...sharing "personal" stuff like that, but then I thought what the heck - this tree thing, (maybe I can help clear that up)...cause I know they can't grow unless they're watered and in dirt.
Thanks for appreciating that, cause I appreciate you saying that.

It's so uplifting and cheerful, and I'll bet a lot of other people really enjoyed reading your post. Have a nice evening. I'm leaving now to go home and hug and kiss the kitties and then try to finish up my taxes!!
