Oh,, ya had to get me started on the CDC stuff
There findings will report "exactly" what there study protocol was written to conclude,, "no direct evidence of a new or unique shared medical condition was found during our study.”
And that would be true,, because they set it up to reach a “there’s nothing there” finding, before they even started it...
Look at it seriously... The CDC has stated several times in the past, “that Morgellons is a delusional condition (DOP) the rise in self reported cases over the past several years, is due to a lot of delusional people falling victim to all the “mass Internet and media exposure” of this “non existent” condition, convincing these poor souls they actually have it too.” But, since everyone is so concerned about it, they would do a study, and check it out anyway, just in-case..
With that thought in mind,, and all of the “medical/research fact based claims” that morgellons is a “progressively developing” complex condition, of several known and unknown conditions.. The CDC wrote its “fact based medical research investigation protocol” to include the following key guidelines.. (These are “there words” copy/pasted from different parts of the tella-conference on “January 16, 2008".. Im only posting the sentences that are key points in there study protocol.)
(CDC) What we’ve been doing over the last year or so is really designing a very careful rigorous scientific protocol....
(CDC) In the first part of the investigation, we will identify all members who may have seen a Kaiser Permanente physician with symptoms suggestive of this condition at any point during the 18 months between July 1, 2006 and December 31, 2007,, obtain detailed information and determine whether they meet eligibility criteria for this study.
(Kaiser) We serve a very large representative population of members in an area with “one of the highest self-reported rates” of this condition in the United States, serving 3.4 million members in the Northern California area. We also have an electronic health records filing system that will allow a systematic method of identifying patients who may have this condition.
(CDC) In the second part of the investigation, all eligible members will be invited to complete a comprehensive Web based or telephone survey conducted by the CDC.
(CDC) In the third part of the investigation, our participants will undergo detailed clinical evaluations which will include a general medical examination, a dermatologic examination, a mental health examination, skin biopsies, multiple blood tests and urine samples..... ( End )
I could go on, but this is plenty enough to illustrate the point I wanted to make, about the study being “strictly designed” to conclude “no medically related findings connected to morgellons.”
To sum there study up... First, there going to use a “key word” type search system, to scan the “complete medical history” of thousands of self-reported morgellons cases within an 18 month window of the studies start date. Then, a Web based survey and telephone interview conducted by the CDC, that will determine the final study group participants. Then, those who were chosen for the group would under-go “medical, dermatologic, and mental health” examinations, as well as “skin biopsies and lab work.”
Here is the problem I have with this “absurd excuse” for what they call a “very careful rigorous scientifically designed protocol.”
With “mass Internet and media exposure” to blame for so many of these reported cases being made by delusional people,, why didn’t they just go back before the name Morgellons ever hit the net, to pick there study group from? I got it before the MRF went up, just like a few thousand other people did! We all have a stack of medical records from way back before the MRF or the media said a word about anything,, all showing numerous attempts to get medical aid, describing the same bizarre list of x-files like symptoms, and being diagnosed “DOP” for our trouble.. Why would they not want to study people with a long term established medical history of morgellons symptoms and medical records showing the conditions “step by step” progression in severity, developing co-occurring conditions, periodic eye examinations showing abnormally rapid vision degradation, laboratory abnormalities, hospitalizations, and so on,,, oh,, an endless list of factual medical documentation showing the clinical progression of morgellons disease.. Because, the CDC really cant afford to do that,,, it’s not in there best interest to conduct a real medical study of Morgellons and report the facts,, it is what it has become today because of them!!
Why?? Well, that’s an easy one to answer!!
The CDC became “fully aware” of the sudden rise in reported cases of people claiming to have some new bizarre medical condition, that doctors were diagnosing as “DOP“ on sight. However, the CDC saw it emerging “across the country, in hundreds of reported cases” but they wrote it off as wide-spread public fear, stress and panic,, now, why would they think that? Well,, the big rise in the number of reported cases hit in early 2002,, just a few months after the 9-11 attacks, when people were still really freaked out and expecting anything.. It just so happens,, the CDC had been ordered on “high alert” because of the 9-11 attacks,, and mandated to investigate any/all odd occurrences or out-breaks of anything medically related,, but they did not.. The CDC thought all of this was stress related and would just fade away,, but it kept growing, and they kept down-playing it, happily agreeing with doctors that it was all “DOP”,, to cover there butts for not responding when it erupted, while under “high alert” status. (Remember when the news shows was announcing the daily “terrorist threat level color” to the public. That was back then!) By the time the CDC knew that this condition was serious and spreading rapidly, all they could do to keep there butts in the clear, was a lot of double-talking back-paddling “well,, we are not sure what that is, but we might should look into it” just not close enough so the public understands that when they learned of the problem, but did nothing about it, there were only several hundred cases,, and thanks to all there “butt covering efforts” there are over 13,000 more cases today!! So, like I said “it’s not in there best interest to conduct a real medical study” They designed this study to cover there buts, and to finally eliminate them selves from any future blame for covering it up..
Knowing that morgellons is a progressive condition, and “takes 3 or more years of development” for most people,, before the “commonly shared laboratory abnormalities” are clearly indicated in lab work,, the “clearly visible presents of mass fiber accumulation through out the skin”,, and other medically testable factors that are key in matching a large group of people to a single “new and unique” condition,, are just not there when your study group is only comprised of those claiming an onset of 18 months or less..
What the CDC has done is,,, use Kaiser’s “electronic health records filing system” with 3.4 million members in it to choose from,, to search for the most recently reported onset cases, with a documented medical history of mental health issues, prior to claiming a morgellons onset. Once all there candidates have been narrowed down to there actual study group, a percentage of them are likely be DOP cases. But, all it would really take would be to have past mental health issues noted in there records, along with the inclusion of “a mental health examination” most will be stamped DOP and no further testing of them would be required ( A mental review in a fact based medical research investigation?? Now, there’s a first!! ) The rest of the group will have been chosen for there recent onset date, they will not have the testable symptoms that will prove a morgellons condition,, most likely just diagnosed as having a common skin condition or something...
The point is,, they wrote a protocol to be able to “hand-pick” people who did not have a fully developed lab testable morgellons condition,, so even though they look, they find nothing to report.. The facts are coming out from far to many other sources to allow the CDC to re-stamp morgellons as DOP,, but that’s ok for them, all they need to do is find nothing, so there lack of response years ago is justified by there findings,, that’s all this study was designed to do!! If you think that the CDC will look like they fixed the study to find nothing, once everything about morgellons is out and set in stone,, your wrong.. That’s already covered,, morgellons can be a real medical condition, but if none of there study group showed up as having it,,, that’s just the luck of the draw, and does happen in study groups at times..
Want to blow there plans wide open?? Get the new president to order a full procedural review of the CDC history of activity on morgellons including this study, enough would be obvious to come down on the CDC, and restart a new medical investigation, with step-by-step presentational oversight... Got to remember,, the new president told the CDC to get off there butts "twice" but they blew him off too..... But, that was before he became the president and could be blown-off
