Hi All,
This is the BEST one yet! I've been passing pieces of what look like bugs in my sputum, urine, feces and blood for more than 5 years now. Have had some very strange organisms come out of various orifices in my body...but the last two days have been incredible!!!
Yesterday while sitting at the puter, I felt something move in my scalp, so I scratched the lump that was moving and went back to the puter...about 10 minutes later, I felt something hit my nose and then fall onto the keyboard! It was a LIVE BUG! It was not flying - yet - but seemed rather dazed. I grabbed it with a tissue and put it under the scope (after I flattened it) but it was still alive. So I squeezed it more and the belly popped open...just what I wanted to do. It was about 1" long, totally intact, with wings, antennae, many legs, various shades of greyish-brown. What was really interesting was that the innards of this bug had all the organisms that I've been coughing up, blowing out, and pooping out! No real surprise there...but WHERE did it come from? I had my husband look in my scalp and there was a fresh lesion with blood the same size of the bug! I have not identified it as yet...
NOW, this is really frightening.....good thing I have a strong stomach! I have had severe pain for many days now, 24/7...in the abdominal upper right quadrant. I feel things moving inside and feels like biting, stinging, and cutting. This AM, my husband was also looking at my scars from the lung biopsy, and saw a black thing sticking out. He worked it loose and under the scope it went...it appeared to be an insect leg...fully jointed and intact. He said that there was more inside that he could feel, but I was in so much pain, I had to stop.
This afternoon my stomach hurt so much I decided to "bomb" the buggers with a Fleet. Since I haven't been eating much, there wasn't that much stool...but there was lots of white, formed mucus...mostly oval in shape and about 1/3" long. While I was "inspecting" the results of the "bombing", I hit something very hard...and retrieved it, and put it in a cup of water. Then I found another one, then another one, then another one...........all about the same size. I "washed" them to get a better look, and while cleaning them up, something began to MOVE! Looked like a leg! Then another leg, and another..... After fully removing the debris, it was a BEETLE!!! No kidding, a real, live beetle, the size of an adult Japanese Beetle. The coloring is different though, it has a black face, sharply pointed proboscis, with horn-like protrusions on either side...the body was hard like a beetle's, and the wings were covering the soft underside. The rest is a reddish-brown with a lighter tan underside. I squished the belly to get the contents out, and put them under the scope as well...the contents consisted of: string-like worms, the crinkly whitish worm-like orgs, lots of black specks, clear gooey gel-like plastic, eggs, and blood spots. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, and absolutely KNOWING where it came from! My husband was there watching the cleanup procedure and nearly fell over when he saw that it was alive, and so large! If he hadn't already had open heart surgery, he certainly looked like he was having a heart attack!!! The others are still in the cup waiting for their turn to get cleaned up.
I called the pulmonologist to tell him what I found, and that it was the same insect parts and pieces that I have been coughing up. The nurse said she told him, and he said it was more a gastrological problem he thought and to call my gastro doc. So, I called the gastro doc and he wasn't in until Friday, so I took a photograph over to his office for his nurse to see. She couldn't believe her eyes! She said she'd show it to him when he returned...and tell him about it if he called in. I asked her for an appointment to see him when he first came back, and she said, he's booked until the end of JUNE! I looked at her and said, "Wouldn't you consider this an emergency?" She said, "So go to the ER!" I told her that her boss was well aware of what had been going on and he also confirmed that the labs will throw away samples if they don't know what they are! Had that done too many times at the hospitals in the area and the national labs that they all use. She said that she would tell him when he came in and would ask him to call. NOW, wouldn't you think that if a patient had live beetles/bugs that they could prove came from their body, that it would be something the doctor would want to see for himself??? This is getting to be just too much to even deal with anymore.
Has anyone heard of anyone else (except Kathy J) that has live bugs coming out in their stool this large and intact? I need to have both of these bugs ID'd ASAP. If I didn't feel so lousy, I'd take them to the microbiologist/parasitologist where I took the others. Perhaps my husband can take me there soon.
I'm wondering if these are the same bugs that bit me so many times 10 years ago and have been living inside of me and reproducing all that time? All of the slides I have from back then, appear to have the same orgs as they do today...were they dormant for awhile, or didn't I notice these bugs? The larvae was there as well...pinky-orange and pear shaped. I've passed literally hundreds of them at one sitting...but some must have matured into adults and that's what is eating me alive.
I'm just about over-the-edge with the pain, the Oxycontin doesn't even work any longer...and I don't wish to take more than prescribed for fear of addiction or side effects. If anyone has any suggestions of what to do that is safe and effective, PLEASE tell me! I need help before it eats through more of my vital organs. It is evident to me, that since I'm coughing pieces and larvae up, that they've gotten into my lungs and respiratory tract; and it's obvious that they are in my abdomen because they are coming out in my stool as well...and in my urine. They are probably moving from site to site when they are very small, or in the initial stages.
Most of them appear to be located near the right lung, liver, and digestive tract. I also get pain around the heart area...I hope they don't start chomping on the pericardium...since I am still coughing up fresh blood daily and have frequent bloody nose issues with bug pieces in it. Therefore, they must have transported themselves to my head and sinuses...it's the toxin they carry that is bothering me the most - just how powerful is it? I know that the right upper quadrant, and now just below the waist on the same side, is numb since the surgery. The outside is numb, but I can definitely feel the biting pain on the inside!
It appears that wherever the bug that bit me came from, it was infected with more than one disease...perhaps there was a "midnight drop" that I wasn't aware of??? Since I was bitten in December and the temperature that day was in the 70's - AFTER a hard frost...how had it survived the snow, ice, and freezing temperatures for 3 months? So many questions, so few answers...
Sorry this is so long, but I had to get it out of my head and into the heads of some very intelligent folks - YOU! There is no question in my mind that the eight original bites on my back is how I got this dreaded disease...no question!
Thank you all for everything you do for everyone, we are getting closer and as soon as I can get a new photo program up and running (they're so darned expensive), I can post them.
Love & Hugs,
ctbarb
