Something I've always done, and it might sound silly (at first) but...our bodies DO talk to us, in 'cravings' that is. When the body craves something...( imho ) it is because that's the way it speaks to us, in order for it to run properly and it really will tell us what we're needing to help support it better. I've been on a "celery" kick/crave lately, and eating celery with salt on it, like never before...and I NEVER knew till just now, the GREAT benefits of celery! It helps prevent cancer, amongst MANY other wonderful qualities too! And something else that's wonderful, is this can be eaten ALL day long, without worry of packin on any extra pounds. www.naturalnews.com/024135_celery_cancer_inflammation.html

Toni, I've heard that, back when I was pregnant, another pregnant lady said she'd been craving clay. The nurse told her what her body needed, can't remember what it was but the clay craving told the nurse what the lady needed.
I love celery but it's hard to eat with no bottom teeth, (have em in my ol lady cup) but still have lesions on my bottom gums that hurt to much to keep teeth in.
The bottoms don't even fit anymore. Now the tops hurt because my moth is so inflamed from the chemo.
Please enjoy a stalk for me xoxoxoxo :-*Suebe

Sue, If your doctor allows it, rinse with a Red Wine. Rinse really good and spit as many times as you can. Pulls all manner of 'stuff' out of your mouth. I did 4 rinses/gargles the other day and was still getting clumps of (Gwen sz bacteria) stuff coming out. You feel really clean and fresh afterwards and you feel the difference. IOW- that the bacteria is OFF your teeth/gums.
If you can not use the wine per doctors orders, try a salt and baking soda rinse. Harmless- the Cleveland Clinic recommends it too for cancer patients.
Hugs,
Jill

Suebe,
I'm sure sorry your gums are sore, that's just awful. But Ant might have a good solution, the celery seeds (maybe)? I know it won't be the same as crunching on the celery though, but it sure is healthy.
Ant, thank you for posting about those celery seeds! I sure didn't know that. Those little seeds, who'd of ever thought? I've only used them rarely (sprinkled in potato salad) and I don't even think for anything else. I guess they were like one of those spices that I thought of as just an addition, but never knew how important and great those little suckers are.
In thinking about them now (how to eat them), they'd be good stirred into tomato juice too with lemon.

This is great, thanks.
Celery is one of the ingredients in our vegetable detoxing juice recipies. Didn't know about the seeds.
Suebee, if you have a juicer and your Dr. doesn't think it would be harmful juicing may help with some chemo side effects & symptoms?
JJ

Great info- think I will try consuming more celery. I do like the flavor of the seed more than the stalk.
