Hi Everyone, I just finished watching The Doctors with Dr. Bill Harvey as the expert on Morgellons. It was delivered with information relative to DOP and the fact that we are NOT DOP, that there IS some factor of bacterial, viral or parasitical nature involved and Dr. Harvey agreed to take the woman on as a patient. Perhaps there will be a follow-up on this show? Let's hope so. What got my attention, was the fact that Dr. Harvey (in the short time allotted) was clear, concise, and direct with his explanation of what Morgellons is or portrays itself as. Dr. Travis Stork played Devil's Advocate with Dr. Harvey and asked the questions that we are asked by the doctors that we see and what their typical reactions are to us. The segment was short, but good in its delivery of information. At least it's out there for the public to see! Definitely look at this show if you can. Hugs, ctbarb

I thought the show focused more on the negative emotions of this disease than any real facts. I doubt any listeners went away from that show motivated to find out more. If anything I think this show did more harm than good. The girl on the show didn't talk about all the symptoms of morgellons, just that she had bugs under her skin and then to make it worse, how she put's clorox on her skin. I think the show should do a follow up and put some real information out there. I'm sick of hearing the delusional part and then he says he has two doctors that dispute this disease exists and why don't they ask those doctors what kind of examination they have done to determine that? Standard tests don't pick it up. In all, I'd say people will just say this girl has a mental problem. This is my opinion of this show.

I am glad that this aired even though the subject of the segment did seem to be in a bit of a fog. Maybe playing cute and helpless will get her further than any of us has gotten in getting treatment. At least Dr. Harvey is aware that this horror exists so she is already ahead of the game. I was somewhat dissapointed that nobody mentioned the numbers of people that have these symptoms, but maybe the show"s producers and Dr. Harvey didn't want to start a nationwide panic.

Just watched the segment.. It was really good, and very positive!! I wish it had ran a little longer though, and brought up some of the more recent findings from OSU and others Not complaining though,, what aired did put down the "Common DOP Assumption" most doctors jump too,, and that always helps to further our cause..

Rhorn, it looks like I'm following you here, haha I just got done watching it NV time, and I really am SO glad this was on, it did give the name Morgellons exposure. I was happy to finally see Dr. Harvey, I liked what he said, and I sure felt for Crystal. Her boyfriend, I wish he'd of used a different choice of words because when he said about how Crystal would "flip out" because of Morgs...well I won't comment about that. Overall, I sure wish it could have been a longer show, but it was great. Many more households now have heard the Morgellons name. Thank you to all those involved, I'm so very appreciative to you all for the exposure.

It was actually much more positive than I thought it would be. I got the impression that she was overwhelmed and I give her kudos for at least being brave enough to go on the show. Considering that I called a dept store and asked if they had a size 5 blueberry (color of shoe I wanted) I wouldn't trust myself to be public about it. I would probably sound incoherent and well...delusional!! Even when playing devils advocate I thought Dr Stork was respectful and open-minded but even more important was the unspoken message he sent by ending segment with announcement that Dr Harvey would see her. In doing so he was acknowledging it as a physical not mental disease. Subconsciencely most people that never heard of it before will now relate to it as a "real" disease. Even if the show did it to look good ie: suffering victim with mysterious disease and unable to find help and they get to be the heroes with a "happy ending". Just my two-cents

Yes, it could have been more detailed about what we all are going through, but she did not have lesions, at least not as much as we have, so that they showed on her body. We also all know that the itching and feeling of movement on and in our bodies occurs all day, not just in the evening....however, for the first time I have seen any mention of Morgellons, it was represented as a disease, and spoke of the DOP doctors as if they were uninformed of this new disease. I know that I had been to so many doctors only to have them treat me not only in a demeaning way, but recommended a psychiatrist. I no longer will be open with doctors, and only my Lyme/Morgellons doctor knows of my problem. I am waiting patiently for it all to come out into the open, and until then my primary doctor will not know. I urge everyone to write to the show, and request that they have another segment with a person that is suffering from our disease.....one that has all the symptoms.

I need to make a public apology to Crystal here. I know it took a lot of guts for her to come on nation-wide TV with this. I must have been in witch mode when I made that first post.

Based on some questions & comments I did a little searching today on TV program air times, The Doctors and amateur Youtube video time allotment. Actual air time for one hour programs is approx. 42-45 mins, the rest being commercials. For Youtube there seems to be conflicting info out there, but it appears (for amateurs) the time allotment is approx. 10 minutes 59 seconds. I think I understand why some think and question why the Dr's may have been heavily edited based on what the producer communicated with Kmarie. It might just be me ........... but, I didn't take the " Dr. Phil also aired a full episode dedicated to Morgellon's. to mean 'The Dr's' would also be dedicating a full episode as well. I just understood it to mean they both were doing shows on Morgellons. I watch the Dr's often and I don't know of a whole show being dedicated to one subject only. I do believe there were two segments taped but it was unclear when they would both be aired. Really don't think there was any heavy duty editing from some 'higher ups', CDC, legal issues or anything like that. Over ten minutes of air time out of 42-45 is pretty good I think. Hopefully there is another segment for a later date. Maybe someone else remembers the Dr Phil show with Judith better than I Was the whole show dedicated to Morgellons? Seems as if the Video on Youtube was edited to fit the 10 minute allotment with the text added. JJ

Notice that she was not covered in lesions, there are as many Morgellons sufferers without lesions (perhaps more actually) than do have lesions. Western medicine cannot find the cause because the point at which it starts is flawed. Wester medicine will only see the end result, germs, fibers, bugs, whatever, but will not truly ever see the cause, because that would mean reversal of it's very foundation, and this would undercut the huge money machine western medicine has turned out to be.

Grady,
Your right, some don't have lesions. I related to what was shown in the segment. Her skin tone appeared mottled and her pores looked somewhat inflamed with little raised white bumps. With the utmost respect of your views .......true, western medicine can overlook many things until it manifests in a more visual and identifiable 'after the fact', even if it is a result of what isn't originally identified as the cause. For many, the lesions are a visual skin manifistation indicating systemic overlooked issues. True, western medicine doesn't appear to be preventative enough. Change is possible if people like us stand firm and opt to be part of change. That said, it doesn't mean I don't respect or appreciate different views. IMHO a combination of western and alternative is the ultimate goal. I do see more and more of your terain approach every day.
This is a good thing.
