I have a rapid pulse (always have) and cramps in my legs, but that's asa far as those symptoms go with me. Check out my new thread to chaosonline... it's something Dr. Thrasher came up with regarding her "crystal."
I think I might have the flu... pain in my ears and lungs, sneezing, coughing up alot of gunk, achy, slight fever. Swine flu? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not worried about it tho... I'm tough! Just feel like sh*t!

I would suggest take a double load of Vitamin C..2000mg..along with a double load NAC...1000mg..AT ONCE before bed time. Take also a high dose of Zinc..100mg along with Magnesium also high..500 mg. And if you have it: Pau D'Arco! it's antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal..besides that antiparasitical...Take 2. Pau D' Arco tea is also great...Make yourself a big pot. It really works wonders! And it doesn't taste bad either..add some honey..to soothe your throat and to stop coughing. Another thing I do when I have a real bad cold with fever is, I crush a aspirin and let the powder dissolve in my tea. Drink lots of hot tea...as quick as possible...it makes your body temperature rise, makes you sweat and rid the toxins. Of course this is only a suggestion, but I can tell you, it always helped me to get better soon! Jeany

"He is said to have had the clinical features consistent with the diagnosis: rapid pulse, fever, yellow or bloodshot eyes, abdominal colics, constipation, cramps in the legs, skin blistering on his arms, port-wine-colored urine, and rambling speech degenerating into obscenities and hallucinations."
The rapid pulse (high resting heart rate) is the only one that we are known to have in common as Morgellons sufferers according to our case study, as far as I know.
Nanny, I'm sorry you've come down sick... do what Jeany says there and I'm sure something will help you to feel better?... Love you!

Magnesium Deficiency, Enzymes, Energy and Detoxmorgellons2.wordpress.com/"Magnesium is needed by every cell in the body including those of the brain and is one of the most important minerals when considering supplementation because of its vital role in hundreds of enzyme systems and functions related to reactions in cell metabolism, as well as being essential for the synthesis of proteins, for the utilization of fats and carbohydrates. Magnesium is needed not only for the production of specific detoxification enzymes but is also important for energy production related to cell detoxification. A magnesium deficiency can affect virtually every system of the body.” “Persons only slightly deficient in magnesium become irritable, highly-strung, and sensitive to noise, hyper-excitable, apprehensive and belligerent. If the deficiency is more severe or prolonged, they may develop twitching, tremors, irregular pulse, insomnia, muscle weakness, jerkiness and leg and foot cramps. If magnesium is severely deficient, the brain is particularly affected. Clouded thinking, confusion, disorientation, marked depression and even the terrifying hallucinations of delirium tremens are largely brought on by a lack of this nutrient and remedied when magnesium is given. Because large amounts of calcium are lost in the urine when magnesium is undersupplied, the lack of this nutrient indirectly becomes responsible for much rampant tooth decay, poor bone development, osteoporosis and slow healing of broken bones and fractures. With vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), magnesium helps to reduce and dissolve calcium phosphate kidney stones.” Possible manifestations of magnesium deficiency include: Low energy Fatigue Weakness Confusion Nervousness Anxiousness Irritability Seizures (and tantrums) Poor digestion PMS and hormonal imbalances Inability to sleep Muscle tension, spasm and cramps Calcification of organs Weakening of the bones Abnormal heart rhythm Many of the above noted symptoms of Magnesium deficiency are similar to the physical symptoms of Morgellons Disease. “Magnesium is a crucial factor in the natural self-cleansing and detoxification responses of the body. It stimulates the sodium potassium pump on the cell wall and this initiates the cleansing process in part because the sodium-potassium-ATPase pump regulates intracellular and extracellular potassium levels. Cell membranes contain a sodium/potassium ATPase, a protein that uses the energy of ATP to pump sodium ions out of the cell, and potassium ions into the cell. The pump works all of the time, like a bilge pump in a leaky boat, pumping K+ and Na+ in and out, respectively.” “Potassium regulation is of course crucial because potassium acts as a counter flow for sodium’s role in nerve transmission. The body must put a high priority on regulating the potassium of the blood serum and this becomes difficult when magnesium levels become deficient.”“A magnesium deficiency can cause the body to lose potassium and this our bodies cannot afford. Within the cell wall is a sodium pump to provide a high internal potassium and a low internal sodium. Magnesium and potassium inside the cell assist oxidation, and sodium and calcium outside the cell wall help transmit the energy produced.” “Magnesium in general is essential for the survival of our cells but takes on further importance in the age of toxicity where our bodies are being bombarded on a daily basis with heavy metals. Magnesium thus protects the brain from toxic effects of chemicals.”“Glutathione synthetase requires γ-glutamyl cysteine, glycine, ATP, and magnesium ions to form glutathione.
In magnesium deficiency, the enzyme y-glutamyl transpeptidase is lowered. Data demonstrates a direct action of glutathione both in vivo and in vitro to enhance intracellular magnesium and a clinical linkage between cellular magnesium, GSH/GSSG ratios, and tissue glucose metabolism. Magnesium deficiency causes glutathione loss.”“Magnesium deficiency (MgD) has been associated with production of reactive oxygen species, cytokines, and eicosanoids, as well as vascular compromise in vivo.” ** Magnesium deficiency causes a loss of Glutathione, a liver enzyme, which is an important part of metabolism and detoxification. Dr.Abott talked about this specific enzyme and that lack leads to liver malfunction and thus the ability to rid toxins efficiently. We need to keep our mineral levels balanced. IMO magnesium and zinc are essential to strengthen our immune system and for proper function of metabolism. Magnesium also has positive effects on our central nervous system. People who suffer from anxiety and nervousness have reported relief after high intake of magnesium. Jeany

Excellent advice.
Boy...I took a zinc the other night before dinner, (without food in my tummy) and I'll never do that again. I got incredibly sick...lasted about an hour that horribly nausiated feeling.
Some people might be sensitive to it, so make sure you have a FULL belly before taking "zinc".

Thanks jeany... I always feel like I have more than one of my beautiful mom when I come to the board and get all this great advice! Never heard of Pau D'Arco before tho, but I'll look for it. I have green tea and honey so I'll drink some of that... have the Calm Magnesium too of course. Other than a sore throat, coughing, sneezing, chills and sweating today... it's my ears that are driving me looney. Ok... loonier.
I got one of those bulb syringes and some ear drops so I'll try that later today. If I do it now I have to take my glasses off, my little satin cap I wear at home, do my hands and gloves over again, then clean my glasses again and change hats before I can be done. Too much for me to even think about sometimes, and this is one of those times! But I probably won't be on the puter long so I'll just do it when I'm done here.
My resting pulse rate is usually anywhere from 90-110 kammy. Is yours that high too?
Sorry you got so sick toni... that sucks! Especially when taking something that's supposed to make you feel better. I know alot of people almost pass out when they take Niacin... I'm one of them. I won't take that stuff for nothin! I think I get enough mag tho from the Calm Magnesium, don't you?

this waiting is killing me. i haven't gotten any petri dishes. the clear gell balls that shoot out of my right nostril has cystine crystals, another rectangular crystal and spores of variety. many spores look (on a minature level) like the shape in sids culture the large (i think) jaw area growth. they must aggregate to the same form? bannany, i have a chest cold now, too, so it'll have to check before deep lung sputum can be cultured and sent. i work in 4 stores and it seems everyone is couging and blowing their nose. a lady with deep chest cold came up and was talking to me. the next day..........my chest started in with the green crap. why would she go shopping and contaminate everyone with her droplets? i'm obligated to talk to her. i imagine the entirity of the stores' air covered with multiple peoples' respiratory crap. i imagine i get contaminated when people wipe their friggin nose with their hand then touch the cards. lots of parents let their kids hang out by themselves in the card section.......they just love cards, but lots of grimey fingers too. i throw the cards away, but i have to touch them. so glad i am not a sewage treatment worker. gratitude soothes the beast.

DISCUSS CYSTINE CRYSTALS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE.A rarely observed crystal that appears in the urine as a hexagonal plate and has the tendency to laminate to other cystine plates. Sides of the hexagon may be of unequal lengths and will vary greatly in size (measuring up to 100 μM). This crystal is soluble in dilute HCl, ammonia, dilute bases; but is insoluble in acetic acid, alcohol, boiling water and ether. Cystine can crystallize out in the kidney to form stones and cause urinary blockage. It is rapidly destroyed by bacteria. When searching for these crystals, use in fresh urine. Bacteria will rapidly destroy cystine. Avoid letting the slide dry, crystals will wrinkle and change shape as the urine evaporates. The presence is due to an inborn error of metabolism in which there is a defect in the transport mechanisms for cystine, ornithine, lysine and arginine. Cells cannot reabsorb these amino acids and thus appear in the urine in large quantities and of these four, only cystine is precipitates as crystals. The appearance of these crystals are clinically significant and indicate some type of pathology. Cystine crystals are also observed in pyelonephritis, heavy metal nephrotoxicity, Wilson's disease, and renal tubule acidosis. Note the following illustration. www.clt.astate.edu/wwilliam/cls_1521_ua_part_3.htmIf the kidneys and liver cannot break down toxins, heavy metals, properly due to the missing enzymes , then they are released over the skin pores? and that's why some report to have cystine 'crystals' emerging from their skin? Just thinking here... Jeany

Going to post this here and at Ruth's thread too in case anyone's interested.
I was told on Friday to expect my order to arrive Tuesday. Just on the off chance it might be early I checked the front porch this evening and the box arrived today.
Did you notice we're to refrigerate the petri dishes immediately? Of course I did that, then started reading the paperwork that came with the dishes.
The dishes (twenty of them) are all secured in a sturdy plastic bag along with the tape for taping each of them.
Various papers were included which I will list below:
(1) Client Information The following form will allow us to set-up your account and establish any preferences you may have for reporting and billilng. To help serve you better and complete projects quickly, please fill in all applicable information. Please call with any questions. (This is good as I do have quesstions)
(2) Natural Link MOLD LAB, Inc. Statement of Qualifications. This page gives some background information basically explaining Dr. Sean Abbott's academic information, his affiliations and publications along with those of his staff, and a list of the scientific and industry associations where they hold memberships.
(3) Credit Card Form for those who wish to pay with a credit card.
(4) Chain of Custody Form...Not sure what this is about, so will have to phone them for additional information.

So, What To Do? Due to Thanksgiving being Thursday of this week and wanting to send a dish to someone as far away as California, and a couple more to Canada, I'm thinking I might be better off to wait until Monday of next week and mail them early Monday morning.
Before I send them I have to make copies of each page to include with the dish.
I wish someone would just tell me what the heck to do! (Not where to go!)

Bannanny and all, I am so happy for the great work and good fortune that has put all of us in a position to get some answers as to what this monster really is. I don't know if I can actually scrape up enough stuff to culture as my condition seems to be very much under control right now, but if things change I will definitely send something to be analyzed.

justhangin, hi!
if you have the white scar looking tracks...........
use your fingers after a hot shower to trace them. you should feel tiny lumps especially around bifurcations where they branch together. those tiny lumps will pop out spores if you 'irritate them' enough.......almost like "an increased pressure butterfly kiss". stroking the area this way then that way then give the area a little time........do it again a tiny skin flap should open up. that is where you irritate it to open more. sometimes the flap spontaneously opens and a bunch of dry spores just pop out so be ready as it can close just as fast. it must just seal when it releases the gell pseudoskin.
you should begin getting minute stuff to surface. take any of it.

On the right side of my face only, between the chin crease and my nose and flaring out to the right, I've had dark pores for years. Not Blackheads.
As Ruth said, irritating them by rubbing or by gently scratching them with a needle usually causes a tiny white fiber to emerge. A lesion never develops.
On the left side where there's so much scarring, there are no dark pores, but I see and feel the clear fibers emerge and float up toward light. The fibers are shiny in appearance.
I hate this disease.

Got an encouraging email from Dr. Abbott today. Wanted to share... Hi Robin:
Thanks, that is good info. I appreciate all the background information, very interesting. Actually this looks even more like a problem that is right up my alley... Not only does our lab have expertise in mold, but also fungal and bacterial infectious agents and I have been working recently with diseases vectored by insects (specifically bed bugs). I will watch for your samples to arrive this week, have a good Thanksgiving!

Yeah, I'm feelin pretty good about all of it too! Hey Sid, gertie pointed something out to me that my brain didn't compute (nothin new there.) Anyway, you said you were sending your cultures to California and Canada. Are you confusing California with Nevada where Dr. Abbott is and who are you sending them to in Canada? We're confused!
