This Cryptococcus gattii could easily be our fungus, and even more the Cryptococcus neoformans... there's lots of similarities in these and what we're seeing.

C. Gattii on wikipedia:Cryptococcus gattii, formerly known as Cryptococcus neoformans var gattii, is an encapsulated yeast found primarily in tropical and subtropical climates. Its teleomorph is Filobasidiella bacillispora, a filamentous fungus belonging to the class Tremellomycetes. Cryptococcus gattii causes the human diseases of pulmonary cryptococcosis (lung infection), basal meningitis, and cerebral cryptococcomas. Occasionally, the fungus is associated with skin, soft tissue, lymph node, bone, and joint infections. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptococcus_gattiiTHIS from old post from Kammy is the fungus mentioned in today's article about air borne fungus killing 1 in 4 in Oregon. Hi every one, don't know if there is a connection but I first became ill in early 99 in Nanaimo, just down the road from Parksville. No meningitis but swollen lymph glands and knees. Nanaimo is on the east side of Vancouver Island. More and more we are finding yeast and fungi are the pathogens making us ill. mfromcanada are you anywhere near Nanaimo? Morghunter.
