Oh thank you so much Toni, You did such a wonderful job!!!!! I just love the picture you put my Bella in. and as Rhorn said it fits the german shepherd. Rhorn , I loved your story about your shepherd..Sky, what a smart dog. Your Raven is very beautiful. I just love the german shepherds , I have rasied and trained 5 and love them to death .. the only problem is their life spand is too short unlike my parrots that could live up to 50 plus years. I bet you find the shepherds pretty easy to train , they so want to please you. Bannany , your photo with your doggies and kitty is very special , I see alot of love going on there, I'm so glad Bandit attacked your x, Dogs can smell when something isn't right, they are also masters at reading your body language, I catch Bella staring at me all the time, she's trying to figure out what I'm going to do next. I love this thread also it was so nice to read the pet stories....wow the cougar story ..I was happy to hear it didn't hurt anyone and you let it go.. Merry Xmas to you all and thanks for being here and sharing your stories , you guys are like my 2nd family. hugs, massena

Ahhh, thanks for my Katy cat, Annie girl and Bandit boy... the loves of my life!
I actually thought you and liatris really did go to the alps! You had me goin there liatris... I thought now how cool is that? Then I realized it was a story you made up to go along with the pic... you did good girl, I sure believed it!
I see the love in Bella's eyes when she looks at you too massena... I see it in all of your sweet babies, even in your birds eyes! I remember when I came to visit, you came into the den and had one of your birds sitting on your shoulder. She just kept nuzzling you... it was the sweetest thing I ever saw!
I also remember you telling us the story of how you got your lil Pepper out of the pound ruth. Talk about a great story! That's one of the best I've ever heard!
love ya's ~~ bannanny

They assess every situation before acting upon it,, no other breed I have ever trained does that!! You can train most dog breeds for protection, but there all "black/white" reactors That black/white K-9 trate is often very dangerous in social situations When you train a dog for personal protection work he/she is no different than a "cocked gun!!" always "ready, willing, and wanting" to jump to your defense and attack.. Let's say an old friend you haven't seen in forever, walks up behind you and slaps you on the shoulder!! Most trained breeds would attack this person without a command just out of a sense of protection,,, a "true German blood line" Shepherd, would jump into an alert position, but scenting and/or reading "no aggression" from this person, would wait for an attack command or further aggressive behaviors before attacking the person... If your going to carry a "cocked gun" it's better to have one with a "working safety" and that's a German Shepherd...
