Hi Guys I often use a magnifying glass at work to look at look closer at damage .( not for morgellons ) I was working yesterday and noticed my shop vac was smoking .it wasnt even turned on so when I looked closer my magnifying glass had caused one of my vacum attachments to burn and melt and smoke from the angle the sun was shinning on it . I would hate to think what would have happened if I hadnt noticed! It could have easily started a larger fire. Be safe and Keep you magnifying glasses away from the sun!

That's great you brought this up, I sure know what you mean.
I have a metal HBO cup I keep mine in, and the sun was coming through the window, and I thought, WOWIE...this REALLY could cause a fire if the sunshine hit right on those magnifying glasses.

Friskers,
Yep I sure agree about the sunshine causing a fire through those magnifiers easily through the window too.
And yes, the flowers are soooo beautiful.

I had a similar thing happen with paperweights. I had a collection on top of a table and one day I noticed a trail of smoke rising up from the table. Went over to investigate and found a burned track in the wood from the sunlight that was being focused through one of the paperweights!
One of the great weapons of ancient times, the mirrors of Archimedis, could focus sunlight into a powerful ray that would set enemy ships on fire.
