[New post] A Tragic Death From: Morgellons - A Mundane Approach (no-reply@wordpress.com) Sent: 13 July 2010 20:57:43 To: andycoyle1@hotmail.com A Tragic Death Mr. Common Sense | July 13, 2010 at 3:57 pm | Categories: Morgellons | URL: wp.me/psXwn-zOMan with agonizing skin condition leapt to his death after motorists yelled 'jump' (story from the UK) bridge A suicidal man who suffered from an agonizing skin condition leapt to his death from a bridge after motorists shouted 'jump', an inquest heard. Paul Cowling, 59, told officers he wanted to kill himself because of the horrendous skin condition which he claimed health services refused to treat. For seven hours emergency services spoke to him as he clung to the edge of Avonmouth Bridge, Bristol, on bank holiday weekend last August. As a result of road closures traffic began to build up leading to 30-mile tailbacks. PC John Clarke, of Avon and Somerset police, told the hearing of the taunts made by drivers. 'At some stage the northbound traffic was stopped. This was a great help in negotiating with Paul. 'But people started shouting 'jump you ****er' and 'jump you b******'. 'Tears were rolling down his face at that point. He had heard them and one of the shouts was re-enforced with a lorry horn sounding.' Described as a 'gentle recluse', the inquest heard Mr Cowling told a police officer the skin condition left him unable to eat and the only things he could bear to put in his mouth were ice cubes. Firefighter Derrick Hone tried to haul Paul to safety using his belt as leverage as a cup of tea was passed to him, but then watched in horror as the man hurled himself 100ft to his death. Mr Hone said: 'I managed to yank him back but he wriggled to the edge of the stanchion. 'He got over the edge and something just went. I thought it was the belt but I had dislocated my little finger. His T-shirt caught on the stanchion and then he went.' A lifeboat went to help the stricken man but he was pronounced dead in the water. Paul, who was unemployed and lived with his brother David, in Bristol, had suffered from an undiagnosed skin condition for several months. Security supervisor David said his brother, who he described as a 'gentle man', slept on a sofa because it was too painful for him to lie down. He told yesterday's hearing at Flax Bourton coroner's court, Bristol: 'In recent years he suffered from bouts of depression but he had never threatened to kill himself.' Paul even bared his 'red raw' chest to show the extent of the condition to those officers trying to save him on August 28 last year. PC Piers Huggett said: 'He complained about his doctor, that he never gave him anything but aqueous cream. 'He had problems in his throat too. It was so bad he couldn't eat. Paul said: "They don't do anything - that's what's led me to this." ' He told the hearing that he spoke to Paul about Bristol Rovers, his cats and childhood memories to distract him. PC Antony Henley, of Avon and Somerset police, said: 'I asked Paul why he wanted to kill himself and he said no one would listen about his neck, which was red and sore. 'He said he had trouble breathing and eating and he was reduced to eating ice cubes.' After the hearing, David thanked all the men who had tried to save his brother and shook their hands. He said: 'He was a thoughtful, helpful person and would be horrified to think he had caused a problem on the bridge.' A verdict of suicide was recorded Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1287049/Man-agonising-skin-condition-leapt-death-motorists-yelled-jump.html#comments#ixzz0tat7ea3cNOTE: The article doesn’t say whether or not the man had Morgellons but to me it doesn’t really matter, what a needless tragedy. We have each other folks, never let yourself get to this point, we have largely been abandoned but we are making progress nonetheless.

Sad reflection on the state of our society I wonder if he knew what he had? Even if they had gotten him not to jump He would have ended up in the phyche ward pumped full of drugs. So sad indeed.

OMG, that poor dear guy what he endured WITHOUT help. I just sit here right now thinking about what he must have gone through.
Some of us have it so much worse than others, (it's all torture though, no matter) but some are in great pain, and it's beyond words how heartbreaking EVERYTHING to do with Morgellons is and has caused just human beings and all we only needed was someone to listen and try and help.

This kind of treatment of a patient should be cause of disbarment,
This is why sites like this are so important, just the fact that their are people that need to be taken seriously.
I just wish i knew who this fellows doctor was. Maybe I can find out, maybe a call to his brother.
This man had our affliction, do any of you doubt it.
Diagnosis, thats a laugh they do not even accept it as a disease.
That man died alone.
It is the FAMILY and FRIENDS that are half to blame, thier needs to be CONCERN.
People can say the word friend and love so easy, but they do not take a moment to administer love or freindship.
I have been where this man went, without my very strong will to beat this my life would have been over years ago.
Thank the people that start the web sites, the tortured for their backup and treatment suggestions and thank god for his help.

Yes, what a tragedy! Damn ............ how on earth, anyone could taunt a man on the verge of taking his life I wouldn't of thought a second about it and been right there taking his hand and offering help and understanding. However, I would not jump to categorize him just because he has an "undiagnosed skin condition". So yes, I have my doubts. In this instance the man desperately needed support and guidance #1 IMHO, not a controversial pigeon-hole that could further complicate his life. That's only my opinion of course. There's just too much pigeon-holing going on for the wrong reasons and this jumps out prematurely as being another case. JJ

I can relate to the hopelessness that he felt I was in his shoes big time" Out of all the doctors I went to see not one would budge from the diagnosis of delusional parasitosis The lack of scientific curiosity astounded and baffled me It was as if each and every doctor was reading from the same bad script from the same bad play word for word action for action spooky and surreal as it was Their main message to me all around was "methinks you doth protest too much" we think your nuts then they would send me on my way with nothing I came about six inches from the edge myself that's why I am so thankful for these boards and the people that reached out to me probably not knowing what Perl I was really in at the time
This is why it is so important that if you have that intuition that you should reach out to someone you should-- you just might be the deciding factor of whether they live to see better days and not even know it

Anthill ,Cool boat, kinda like an extention of our newfound fantasy world. Good outlook.
You know there is one thing I have learned about this malady through the 38 years of torment.
I had NEVER seen a doctor troughout my childhood, except for a hernia operation, school health checks, eyeglasses that I never wore, (Myopia) was diagnosed, my eyes never got worse really, another doctor lie of the time, anyway that is just about it.
I went into the UNITED STATES ARMY in just about half way through a tour of duty in Asia i started a 1 inch thick pile of papers that were my health records.
One inch thick, can you imagine the amount of doctor visits that is. I had turned into a hypocondriac, OR NOT. What are the results of this affliction, the true symptoms, anybody else that can answer this, from my experience 38 years of it, anything and everything, A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF THEM SHOW APON THE SKIN, many of them in the colon, the rest of them, destroying slowly but surly the very organs that substain life.
What exactly could a diagnosis read, well lets see, today i observed a subject 18 years old with exzema, his hair is becoming very thin and he has red patches around his beard line, eyebrows, sides of the nose and some extending out under his eyes. There seems to be many different forms of skin anomolies, bright red tiny hard sigular orbs, tiny spots that will bleed profusely, white plaque in skin, keratosis on arms, , black coal looking tiny piecess are exuding from skin, also a metalic sparkly bits when sweating, lesion on uper back side of leg with a semetrical formation of large round cells, the neck, legs, hands are swollen, exact infection sites on both sides of body suggest systemic involvment. Subjets has complained of immensece pain arms and hands, rashes, foot fungus, artritis, burning throat, geographic tongue, white spots on tip of tongue that are very painful, red spots on back of tongue, earaches, headaches, floaters in the eyes, lines under skin, brain fog, fatigue, itching so immense in ears that it felt like red ants biting in ears, and intense itching on the body, he has pain in his liver and both kidneys.
My observation of this individual was complete the man insists there is even more items he is forgeting, even though I see many of the skin anomolies, it is my opinion that the subject is under stress, that he has delusions, he is a severe hypocondriac, further he has taken up with the idea that natural treatments can heal illness and has started to self treat, these compounds may be the cause of all his manafestations.
If there is a blanket that will cover us well as diagnosis, it should be, large amount of health issues, huge skin problems, internal problems
I am sorry to say this, but if it were not for the lesions, itching we would not be here right now, our vanity was the driving force, if this hid inside our bodys just killing us at randome, there would not have been a question raised, not one union. Doctors would have explained it away with B/S lies of nervous reaction and stress or other such common fairy tales.
The itching and skin problems was our unity, sorry but that is a fact, without that you would only have disease and there would be nothing else said about it.
For 38 years since I got this, i knew, it was not only going to be JUST FOR ME, if I could go from the most healthy kind of human to one with unending progressive morphing conditions, then others would follow, or they were already there.
I watched all these years, always paying close attention to myself and others that were near me, people that were my mates, it seemed for quite some time that it was me, only me, but then slowly, things on peoples skin began to change, many had issues, children with horrible acne, adults GETTING acne two of my G/F developed Alopecia (a fibrous condition on the head, I noticed their hair became thin.
You know, I wanted to believe this was just that this is natural, as the doctors told me, time and time again, that what I had could not be spread, it was not contagious, LIKE HELL ITS NOT.
The population at large has at least some of the magic formula that makes us so special, over 38 years looking at EVERYONE I come in contact with I know, the signs.
The infection signs can be almost undetectable, but you give me a man that is married to a woman that has lesions and he does not, I can show you quite easily where his are hidden under the skin, not with a possibility but pure certainy.
I am not a average fool, I am a special fool, my observation skills have always been keen, that is what made me better than most all in my feild, where others saw perfection I saw problems.
Observation, Deductive ability and good Organization skill is all you need for excellence, leave one out and you have nothing but a mess.
You know quite honestly, i do believe the apperance of fibrous materials in all the disease is a beginning, a good one, it brings all the disease into a circle, could it be as easy as one thing going out of wack, or is this one thing that goes out of wack NORMAL, is what is happening to us a FORCED adapting process, EVOLUTION, is the formation of wayward prions a message to our body to change and adapt.
Can it be we are adapting to the horrible conditions of our planet in the only fashion the body knows how, addaption, after all, that is why mankind is skill here.
The Dodo bird adapted to a world with no preditors, its wings grew so small it could not even fly, once man showed up it was just a matter of time before the last wingless bird was stew, he could not adapt quick enough.
maybe its just time for man to adapt or stop being a Dodo bird.

My heart goes out to this poor soul. I for the life of me, can not understand how doctors can see with their eyes but not believe. Astounding. May this man now rest in peace.
