I don't know if anyone has tried this, but I spoke to a Morgie yesterday who started seeing a new doctor. The doc said that she had another patient with Morgellons who did extremely well on Valtrex (anti-viral often prescribed for herpes simplex).
So this woman tried it herself and had a very positive reaction. She said she feels no symptoms at all, but cautioned that she's only been taking it for three days. And who know what might happen after she stops.

Ruth, I tried it several times. I had and still do have a script from when I had facial chem peels done. The cosmetic sugeons prescribe this (if a person has ever had a fever blister or cold sore ever their life) on their mouth. And if so, no doc will perform a facial peel unless the patient takes Valtrex, because they know that "herpes simplex 1" which is a cold sore ever on the lip/mouth - and they don't want to risk irritating skin on the face and creating an uroar of this virus in the system. I didn't personally have any luck with it. But, that's just me. Hopefully someone will. I took Valtrex 1 gram 2x a day. And while I was a patient of Gingers back in 06, I again took it to see how it might affect Morgs, but I saw no changes. I just re-read my post here, and this very LAST paragraph actually sounds like Ginger prescribed this med for me, and I want to be clear. She did (not) prescribe this med for me. I'd asked her in a phone consult: what about an antiviral, because I had them and wanted to see if they'd help. She said it couldn't hurt to try them, so I did. And when I saw no "difference" in my symptoms, I stopped this med.
Anyways, these were of my own "trial" to take.
