Washington Post followup article by Brigid Schulte. Picked up by Forbes. Hits the streets Sunday, October 31st. Obvious disclaimer by CDC: "We were very clear from the outset that no one study, not even this one, would likely provide the whole answer."

Funny, I don't remember that being made clear.
Now, just wait for the published research sometime early? in 2011 and you'll get a partial answer.
Upside to this announcement by the CDC. Morgellons is a complex illness, NOT just DOP.

Yeah...I sure didn't care for that "disclaimer part". That part is worrisome.
(Teller had posted this too on another link) but thank you for posting a thread on it.

Teller was given credit for this news-break by me after his post, but no one seemed to take notice of this Washington Post article which is possibly the biggest news in a couple of years.
No response here by the usually active LB members. What's up? Battle fatigue maybe. That I can understand.

"I believe the disease is real. But there are lots of crazy people involved. So, I distanced myself," I don't think he was referring to the people with the disease... "Plus, there was no funding."... I just can't imagine why? Nice story about Suebe... sad. Clicking on another link on this page: Outbreak of deadly infection worries officials www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/10/26/AR2010102604465.html?waporef=obinsite"The outbreak of klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase in Brasilia follows others in Israel in 2007 and in Puerto Rico in 2008, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention." another "hospital infection" ? ""It seems that health professionals are not taking these threats seriously," Cardo told The Associated Press." Oh chit no! They can't be acting this way! Not our professionals!

Please everyone register so you can post a comment, mine is below:
"The CDC did not do a study, as they suggested. All they did was INTERVIEW a few people in California that have Pomegranate (sp?) insurance. That is hardly a study. I pray that they will stop being delusional about the definition of a STUDY! The people that are suffering miserably from the ravages of this scourge are waiting for them to get a clue about what is involved in real research. 10/31/2010 2:27:59 PM"

John, thank you for the link to the articles. I just wish that the CDC would get their tails in gear and publish something already. My symptoms are very manageable right now, but who knows how long that will continue. I guess most folks here are tired and perhaps disheartened because the folks that left will be missed so much.

I was looking at some youtubes and came across this one. Look at the brief mention at 0:53 where they mention that if people were denied health care... someone gets a bonus? Do what? We might want to look into this closer? www.youtube.com/watch?v=huGBCmXS1D8&feature=related

kammy, I listened to to the guy a few times and I heard him say "if you deny more people health care, you get a bonus" Anyone else hear it too? Guess we know where we stand with our healthcare now don't we? Tain't worth a chit.

Hi all I am having computer problems and only have so much patience right now to post every once in a while...but my take on the article was that it was the 'same ole' thing and gave too much attention to the comments from the 'naysayers'. This was perhaps in our favor though, since I noticed a lot of the people in the comments section of the online post, were believing it, but going after the doctors who were not on board with finding out what this disease is.
However, I am tired of the word 'delusion' being put out there and felt this article once again, gave some people an 'element' of doubt to hang onto.
Perhaps disgusted right now as my symptoms have increased lately and I am in a miserable state of mind... Pdidit

Hi everyone, the story is bits and pieces of what was said, and a lot of add lib drama to it, never told bridgette that there were ants spiders and dog lice, satressed to her the importance of her writing something if in fact she was going to do a follow up, that would not make Sue or any one else with morgellons sound DOP, I am very dissapointed in this article, she contacted me several weeks ago, and we talked, I told her then dont write anything if you are just going to write, with out doing some real research as to why the CDC and others arent releashing any info, and why all the Drs who do try to help are getting shut down. soory to you all that she (Bridgette didnt spend more then 10 minutes writing her story. I was surprised they didn't mention the MRF as far as doing research (they claimed Wymore seems to be the only one left). I know the MRF doesn't do research directly, but they stated they had 9 scientists researching for the Phase 2. I wonder if they even contacted the MRF? Anyone know?

Thanks, Tom. Don't worry, we are used to the reporters letting us down. I'm plenty worried about my story coming up this winter. They seemed genuine, but...
