Hey all,
I'm almost out of Tresaderm (the cats ear drops), and I'm wondering what concoction I can make for them for their ears?
Anyone with pets with morg that can give me some pointers would be great.
I even tried Olive Oil mixed with the Tresaderm but doesn't seem to work as well.
For my own ears I am using 50% alcohol, 50% peroxide, and 1 dropper full of liquid garlic bulb extract mixed together. But, I have to do this 3-4 times a day. Then I put vics vapo rub into my ear canals with q tips (definitely can't do that with the kittys)
Not sure if the other would work for the cats though.
Thanks, Kat

Explain in more detail what's going on with your kitty's ears?

They are scratching them like they have ear mites, but the vet checked them for mites and found nothing.
I'm assuming they are having the same ear symptoms as me.
I need to know what kind of drops to use for them to relieve their uncomfort.

I'm not sure, Kat, maybe someone with kitties can help out? I did see an article recently about the cat food containing corn or was it soy?... look at the first ingredient of their food and see what it is?

Alot of Ashma is due to food allergies or pollens. Might want to get him a GMO free diet, NO soy, No Wheat, No corn. Make sure it has flax seed in the food. After a time you may see improvement.
I hope this will help you. In Light Lynn

If normal fleas / parasites / mites have been ruled out, and they are infected with Morgellons (would be no surprise), then I would just get Prednisolone from the vet and give them so they won't scratch, (if they are scratching themselves into raw exposed skin). If they are not scratching themselves raw, then skip the Predisolone. Then, look for whatever might eradicate the real problem...

The reason I asked about their food is that article I read had a bag of top brand cat food with fish in the name... with fish on the bag... and there was zero fish in it. And, I believe corn was the first ingredient, which cats can't even digest... so, it's like nothing, not even our precious children - for sure, is sacred. I suppose they think there's too many cats and dogs in the world too? Everything is a target, we have to protect them the best we can. And a cat food with fish in the ingredients?... now, today?... What I would think is that whatever you put on them, you'd have to rotate... that like with us whatever we have becomes immune after a few days? Just guessing...

First three ingredients: Turkey, Turkey Broth, Turkey Liver... no fish. I give them Merrick Thanksgiving Day Dinner canned food and Chicken Soup For The Cat Lover's Soul dry food. Both are decent for health. Whatever's bothering my ears is also bothering theirs so, again, I don't know if we have morgs or not, but we are all having ear trouble at this point. I thought, not sure, that I was told to stay away from the steroids if it is morgs, so I will probably skip the prednisone. Oh well, will have to just experiment. The herbs and stuff I am taking are lessening the symptoms so far so I'll just keep doing what I'm doing in that area. Thanks Kat

the reason I don't like prednisone for me or for my dog is that it suppresses the immune systom. It does this to people and dogs. If you have lyme and presumably morgellons it is bad for man or beast to have immune suppression. unfortunatly Barkley takes the asthma internally for the asthma. I am trying the diet shift too and other non immune suppressing meds. Trouble is they just don't work as well. There are doggie inhalers but my vet won't use them. Its so sad to see him itghing his ears and shaking his head like you poor kitties. And he falls to the ground w/the wheezing-otherwize a super active dog. Have you made sure the kitties don't have ear yeast infections? I am gonna check on that for Barkley.

I just put colloidal silver in their ears. I will see if this helps.

My cat was scratching like heck on his neck and face, scratching the skin down to an open sore. I microscoped the cat but didn't see any fibers - so it would be nice if he did not have morgellons and just an allergic reaction to fleas is taking place. I don't like any toxic meds for anything but I chose to medicate my cat with Prednisolone and right away the sore healed since the cat was not scratching. So mine was a case where Prednisolone improved the situation rather than make the cat worse. (if the cat gets yet another infection because he is scratching, that is not going to help the immune system either.)

True enough Aware. The vet doesn't like me to give him prednisone all the time for the asthma but he does benefit from it We pulse it pretty much like 15 days on 15 off but the vet would like me to use it less if possible. Its horrible to watch him wheeze. He is on a wheat/soy free diet which helps w/itchies.

How can I convince my vet to give my cats prednisone, when their exams turned up nothing? Kat, If your cat is scratching a lot and perhaps damaging his skin, that should be reason for most vets to prescribe prednisolone. Mine first got the script when he had allergies to flea bites. Now, I wonder if he has Morg instead. If your cat is just shaking his head and twitching, you still might get a vet to prescribe it. But damaging scratching all the time it is almost a required drug sadly. I'd like to go to an alternative all natural veterinarian sometime to see what he says.

I strumbled (yes I said strumbled) ;Upon this cure by accident by my self one day I just happened to put some sodium perborate in my bath to see if it had any effect on my morgellons from hell and I was pleasantly surprised that it did in a big way' --I think I can truly say that it was the start of the lessing of my symptoms After that I was curious to see if there was any references on the Internet about preborate so I googled it and I found these post by a Ted from Bangkok for a cure for dog mange Ted indicates that you can use ether hydrogen peroxide and borax or sodium preborate in this cure the preborate works so well that I have not tried the hydrogen peroxide and borax I found a post by Ted that I can not find now that said that instead of giving your cat a bath as the recipe indicates for dogs to make up the preborate solution soak a towel with it and get your cat wet and leave the solution on the cat I also made up some solution and put on a Q-tip for my ears it helped allot with the ear thing artlifenewsblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/reviews-of-home-remedies-for-mange-if.htmlTed from Bangkok original post www.earthclinic.com/Pets/dog_mange_cure.htmlA post where this cure was used on a cat so should be safe www.flickr.com/photos/nycandre/1459080973/

Aware, I love your paranoid cat avatar too lol Ant, like yours too by the way lolol. Ant, thanks for the heads up. Where can I get that sodium preborate? I just made a mixture of peroxide, vinegar, and borax. I'm trying it out on myself first before I put it in the cats ears. Thanks for the help, you guys are great. Kat

Ok, just tried the peroxide, borax, and vinegar mix. I don't like it because it doesn't come out of the ear, and seems to just get stuck there.
Dumping it now, and making more of the peroxide, alcohol, and garlic bulb mix I think.
