Hello,
I have been practicing Bikram Yoga for the past couple of months on and off. I am very curious about whether or not people on this board think its a good thing to try, or a bad thing....If you don't already know, Bikram is an incredibly intense form of yoga that lasts an hour 1/2, and it takes place in a room that is over 105 degrees.
After every class, I feel AMAZING, but there have been a couple times where it feels like my intense sweat is bringing back the bugs.
I know a lot of people have mentioned infrared therapy as a means to treat this disease. It seems like Bikram should do the same thing...."sweat out the toxins." I'm nervous, however, that if Morgellons is a fungus, that Bikram could indeed be making this much, much worse!!! Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I know Bikram has been rumored to be capable of curing cancer....and it works by pumping oxygen to so many places within the body. It should make sense then, that this could be a very good thing for Morgs?

How do you feel when you get through with a session?

I truly feel great and very energized! My skin becomes more itchy during the session, and fibers are more likely to come out, though. I still don't know whether or not that's a good thing, or a bad thing...

Well, Teach, most of us tend to get more sedentary after we're hit with this affliction. I would think preserving my health using whatever means would be a good thing? We don't know if what we have is a fungus or not, it could be a bacteria that acts like a fungus, it has a biofilm which might indicate bacterial, we're still waiting... You want to find us some links to show the benefits of this Yoga?

Hey Kammy, Well, those effects are starting to come on, unfortunately. I am going to have a talk with the principal of the school today, as I've fallen really behind, etc. When I go to yoga, I really do feel like I'm rejuvinating myself though; the only problem is, with the stress of this disease (taking multiple showers, cleaning, etc etc.) in addition to working, its REALLY hard to find an hour and a half EVERY day.....but I'm making it a priority....I have to... Here are a couple of links. Honestly, the reason why I posted this is because I'm shocked there isn't anything out there on the internet already about curing Morgellons with Bikram. I've done the infrared therapy at a local spa, and Bikram actually seems to do more to my body....the stretching REALLY gets the oxygen pumping from the inside. This first article links Bikram's benefits to cancer...It might not work since it looks like its a pdf, but try looking at the www.bikramyogavancouver.com website...that's where the article comes from. I've talked to other people at the studio who have done Bikram for years...they all swear by these claims.... www.bikramyogavancouver.com/database/rte/Can%20Bikram%20Yoga%20Help%20Reverse%20Cancer%20Processes(2).pdfHere's a couple more sites, but if you even do a google search on "Bikram yoga health benefits" or "Bikram Yoga Cancer" you will find NUMEROUS articles on how it can help....OHHHH, I almost forgot....Bikram Yoga is also said to be able to cure chronic Lyme...I included a few websites on that, too. www.fitnesshealthzone.com/yoga/practice-bikram-yoga-to-detoxify-your-body/www.bikramyoga.com/BikramYoga/about_bikram_yoga.phpvalleybikramyoga.com/about.htmlvalleybikramyoga.com/bikram_hot.htmlwww.bikramyoga.com/BikramYoga/LymeDisease.phpwww.bikramyoga.com/press/press6.htmI guess I'll be the guinea pig on this and let you all know if sticking with it has helpful effects on Morgellons!!! Honestly, the only thing that scares me is that my Morgellons started in very intense heat where I was sweating profusely. It makes me scared that this is how Morgellons grows. But I guess I will just have to continue practicing to see if that is truly the case. I'm hoping its not, because I've truly started to love Bikram!

Hi Teach,
I for one, (don't do yoga) but I deliberately left the air conditioner off here in the house many days per week *during the daytime* here (and it was hot in the summer *Vegas*), just so when I do my exercising and running up and down the stairs and cleaning, I would work up a GOOD sweat. And I did (on purpose)-and I'm still going like the EverReady Bunny. I think movement of any kind to get the heart and breathing going is a key to keeping the immune strong.

I built a infrared LIght sauna in desperation during the thick of this disease using heat lamps that they use to keep food warm I would sweat in this thing till there was a big puddle on the floor every day I was so overwhelmed with this disease at the time I could not tell if it was working From subsequent experiments that I've done with different types of infrared heat sources I know now that the light bulb type was not the best choice because it is a vary focused and harsh heat I got better results from quartz or ceramic the ceramic Is the most soothing of the two I don't use the sauna anymore except to store my herbs that I collected in the wild now-days I use a Ionic hairdryer on days that I have flair-ups

Ive done the brikham yoga a few times and its just way too intense for me but i always felt amazing afterwards too but maybe only because the torture was over ;D I do hatha yoga 2-4 times a week and its helped me tremendously get rid of toxins and been key to feeling better But unfortunetely I dont think either way its affected the crawling feeling . If I were a person with more will power i would have stuck with the bringham but my teacher was actually a bit of a sadist and enjoyed watching us suffer Listen to yur body and your gut feeling and keep doing it unless you get a strong feeling to stop is my advice. Also go a little slow with it and dont wreck your body trying to do poses you arent ready for. You can injure yourself doing yoga , and dont listen to a teacher who forces you to do something that feels painful.

Good for you! I wouldnt recomend this type of yoga for someone who is extreemly weak or fatigued . Its pretty tough workout from what I remember. Also I would like to comment that if I stop doing yoga i get depressed and feel like my soul is dying so it does more than just the physical , although its all inter connected . It really makes me feel calm and centered too . I wish everyone would try it!!!

Bikram yoga is the BOMB!!! I didn't do it for 5 days, and all my symptoms came back, full fledge. Ironically, when I went to yoga the next day, more stuff came out of my skin than previously int he past month or so...I'm taking this as a sign that when I don't release the "toxins" or Morgellons "stuff" via yoga, it only builds up in my body, causing more problems. Yoga also helps alkalize your body, preventing the stuff from growing. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. Don't be too scared....with Bikram, though it is intense, the instructors should tell you to go at your own pace- to even lie down if you feel too hot or out of breath....each class you will make minor improvements. Don't let age or physical strength deter you....it seriously has worked miracles for me, and I wish others would give it a try!!

teacherkl - ask your yoga instructor if they know what a kundalini awakening is.. and what are the most common symtoms. what I thought to be a bug infestation of my skin.. began the day after a bikram yoga class. - the one and only bikram yoga class i have ever taken.. and it kicked my a$$! i felt like i was in shock afterwards.. like a cold fire was on my spine.. next day came the crawling feelings...all of the crawling sensations i feel i now attribute to chi or prana .. electric sensations through the nadis instead of bugs.. the symptoms of a kundalini awakening are; the sensation of ants on or in the skin bubbling sensations at chakra locations deep vibrations within muscle and fat muscle spasms sudden limb movements /jerks /mudras /kriyas seeing flashes of light hearing wooshing or high pitch sounds or buzzing in the inner ear pressure in the center of the head here's a full run down showing alot more about it... lymebusters.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=rash&thread=14260&page=1
