My son and I have had this disease since 04 and have been just existing as best we can. We don't have a lot of money to spend on things but last fall my son moved into a house with someone he met and going to marry. This house was horrible for him. He has symptoms he never had before. One being strange things growing on his head and severe itching. He moved out and back to his dad's and oddly, the head moles are going away but he is intensely itchy. He keeps calling me but I haven't kept up with things so I don't know where to get him help. The dermatologist is booked for a month, but he probably won't help him anyway.
We live in Ohio, we did contact a neuropath nearby but we can't afford his protocols of hundreds a month. I'm afraid of what he will do right now. He was in his early 20's when he got this and like everyone else, this is ruining his life. Who do I contact for help for him? Does anyone know? If I could get a phone number to call and get real answers I would appreciate it. Thanks for any help!

The best and happens to be the cheapest is the Salt/Vit C protocol, go to Lymephotos.com for really good info. I use canning salt as it seems to disolve the best and is at the grocery store, don't have to take the pills. I use the powder form of Vit C. Slightly heat 4oz of clear pure water, mix in 1 level table spoon of each (plastic spoon) and sip it while eating a meal and a drink glass of your favorite herb tea. That helped me more than anything, just make sure to be home for a few days as it does cause diarreah. Also need to protect the liver and other organs to help dispose of the die off. Take Milk Thistle, Selenium. You can also get other low cost treatments on Earthclinic.com. Another thing I found to be helpful is Mucinex. It is actually used to treat Fibromaylgia and I think it helps push these buggers out of the muscles and joints where they hide. I used horse Ivermectin but did not see that much benefit and could not be good for the liver if overused.

Hi Mari I am not sure I am the best source for info, since I am still dealing with this. But, from my experience, much of the itching is caused by toxins/fungus being expelled from the skin [along with other unwanted guests: bacteria, insects, and parasites within the layers of skin]. Also, if he has lumps and sore areas surrounding his lymphatic system, then it would help to stimulate these areas in the shower and using a wash cloth, press down hard and pull up the washcloth from the bottom of his feet up toward his back. If he has brown gunk coming from this, his lymphatic system is compromised--an important part of the body to help cleanse the toxins out and fight disease. So not really knowing what is going on with your son [has he ever had a lyme test done?] , I can't say for sure what methods would work best--i.e. vita C/ salt are advised if he has lyme disease. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of doctors who claim to know the most, so can't help you there as far as who to call. But IMO, not only are these doctors expensive, but they are still really in the 'dark' too--we need scientists--possibly the scientists who created this nightmare, if you tend to believe in this controversial subject. If he is really dealing with Morgellons then there really seems to be a strong fungal component involved that is quite possibly harboring most of the pathogens that are causing this disease. So if I didn't have the resources / financial means to do anything else, I would try the detox methods found in these below links: mold-survivor.com/detoxing.htmlmold-survivor.com/dietcopyright.htmlI would love to set up a foundation, if I ever found a way to recoup the money I have lost--to help people just like your son. This seemingly designer disease robs you of many things --your dignity as well as all your finances and it is just so heartbreaking and at the same time, infuriating to me! Hope this helps you, Love Pdidit

I came on tonight because my son's itching is so bad I had to send him to the ER. I doubt they will do anything, but I don't know what else to do right now. Does anyone know of something for yeast/fungus/mold that would be in his skin that I could help him with now? A detox would take time and a clearer understanding of what we were to do. I don't want to harm him. We have a Dr Overman near us in Ohio, has anyone ever been to him for this disease and been helped? His protocol seems quite expensive each month, but since my son has been in his early 20's he's had this disease and it has ruined his life. He left where he was living to his dad's that didn't work. He's taking baths in vinegar/salt that isn't working. He can't clean anymore or wash his clothing as that makes no difference. I believe it has to be in him. Is there anything I can help him with now while we figure this other stuff out? Thanks so much for your replies, yes it is heartbreaking and such a feeling of helplessness when doctors don't do anything to help.

My son called after he left the ER. All they did was send him off with an antihistimine. It was a long shot that they would do anything. They only thing I know to do is send him to Dr Overman and hope it's not a costly waste of time. I appreciate the replies. What's harder than having this myself, is watching my son suffer like this.

I also take 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon of borax and mix into 1 liter of pure water, refrigerate and drink it over a day. You can also add to that 1/8 teaspoon 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide. I saw results within a week and really helped with my acidbalance

Good idea headbee---
Antihistamines are not a bad suggestion and often helps when I itch, no matter what it is from. I have heard about Dr. Overman--dont know of anyone having been helped by him though with the exception of a woman near where i live, who had parasites, not morgellons.
But unfortunately Mari, IMO, you are going to have to do a trial and error method to tailor it to your son's body chemistry and stage he is in. And we also don't know if this itching is caused from fungus/ parasite or an insect or something else all together...? do you see anything on your son's skin? Bugs or black specs / black hairs in the environment? Does he have any crawling sensations too? There is much we don't know about yours and your son's experience...
While I don't know what you have tried and what you haven't, here are some other suggestions that many have found relief from in general:
2.5 % Benzoyl peroxide found on acne.org which allegedly kills mites and other unwanted guests; tips: burns at first and can also stain clothing. Wait for it to dry before getting dressed. His skin will peel from this, but this is good to get the layer of infection off. B. Peroxide penetrates skin better, as well as h202. Some found that using vaseline after putting on the peroxide, helped soothe the skin and healing time.
Bathing/spraying with enzymes i.e. tweetmint enzymes or enzymes from aplus pest control [do a google search]; some use vinegar with this in the tub but since this didn't work for him before, I would just try it alone first. But apple cider vinegar might be another story--this is supposed to help with fungus when taken internally and you can use this externally as well. Some use just apple cider vinegar ie. 2 tbls and others have luck mixing it with baking soda for an internal drink.
Also have you tried t tree oil in the tub? this too works too for fungi and bugs and should relieve itching. It did for me but a warning: experiment with small amt first since this too burns...
Others get relief from sulphur soap, azure [sp?] or lye soap.
Infrared pad and/or infrared sauna...or just have him go to a regular sauna in the gym
Internal protocol are essential too, even though not immediate relief, since symptoms will just keep recycling if you don't start to attack it internally--obviously this is not an overnight fix. I have had some progress with revoxil for parasites, oregano oil, garlic cloves etc for fungus, neem for insects, and systemic enzymes. Some have great luck with MSM...or optizyme MSM, supposedly the most purest form.
You might want to try earthclinic.com--they have a great amount of information and good ideas.
Good luck Pdidit

Mari-
My heart goes out to your son. I have a 21 year old that is showing signs of Morgellons. I worry about him every day.
One thing that's helped me with the itch is about 1 cup of baking soda in the bathtub. I also use Bug Arrest and spray it on the furniture and carpet about once a week.

Thanks for so much information. I've ordered the organic vinegar with mother and the Bug Arrest. I read up on both and it's someplace to start. Zena, I am so sorry to read about your son and I know how you feel. My son wasn't much older when he got this. I hope someone is doing something somewhere for serious help. I used to read the boards alot, but it's better for me emotionally if I try to get through each day and not think about how crazy all this is. So, I don't know what's going on with research if any. For the young people especially, I hope we hear something positive soon.

I've been taking Papaya Enzymes mari... and they seem to be helping. I also got an email today that I just posted on another thread, but will post it again here as well since sometimes the simplest things are the best...
Useful info that may help someone ...
LISTEN UP FOLKS: This is something that we should all take seriously – just had a recent test myself that sent shivers up my spine – or near by – Even doctors are now saying that there is value in trying “LEMON”
So, a tablespoon of "real lemon" (the concentrate in a bottle) in a glass of water every morning. What can it hurt?

Lemon (Citrus) is a miraculous product to kill cancer cells. It is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy.
Why do we not know about that? Because there are laboratories interested in making a synthetic version that will bring them huge profits. You can now help a friend in need by letting him/her know that lemon juice is beneficial in preventing the disease. Its taste is pleasant and it does not produce the horrific effects of chemotherapy. How many people will die while this closely guarded secret is kept, so as not to jeopardize the beneficial multimillionaires large corporations? As you know, the lemon tree is known for its varieties of lemons and limes. You can eat the fruit in different ways: you can eat the pulp, juice press, prepare drinks, sorbets, pastries, etc... It is credited with many virtues, but the most interesting is the effect it produces on cysts and tumors. This plant is a proven remedy against cancers of all types. Some say it is very useful in all variants of cancer. It is considered also as an anti microbial spectrum against bacterial infections and fungi, effective against internal parasites and worms, it regulates blood pressure which is too high and an antidepressant, combats stress and nervous disorders. The source of this information is fascinating: it comes from one of the largest drug manufacturers in the world, says that after more than 20 laboratory tests since 1970, the extracts revealed that: It destroys the malignant cells in 12 cancers, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreas ... The compounds of this tree showed 10,000 times better than the product Adriamycin, a drug normally used chemotherapeutic in the world, slowing the growth of cancer cells. And what is even more astonishing: this type of therapy with lemon extract only destroys malignant cancer cells and it does not affect healthy cells. Institute of Health Sciences, 819 N. L.L.C. I want to thank those who wrote offline, I never thought of anyone doing that so I just now saw them. I don't think I have time to get my son to try anything as he is doing so badly mentally. He was at least living some until the awful itching started. Now, he's talking suicide. It's one thing to have this disease, another to try and live with intense itching and inability to sleep.
What confuses me is I see no fibers coming out of his skin when I spray bug arrest or vinegar on his skin like I see coming out when I do this to myself. He has soaked in baths, washed his sheets and blankets and cleans. He seems to feel better for awhile after a shower, but then the itching starts again. It's especially bad at night, he just can't sleep even with tylenol pm. All he gets is stronger antihistimines which don't work. He's tried bug arrest, salt and vinegar, hydrogen peroxide with no relief.
The last couple nights, he says there are thousands of fibers all over crawling on him and he can't continue living. He is talking about going on drugs or just killing himself to end the torment. Protocols won't help me right now, I'm begging for anyone who can tell me where to send him to stop this itching, then I can work with him. We never found any doctors who help, only think we are crazy.
Does anyone know of a kind doctor or have a doctor who has stopped the itching part of this disease or can tell me what is causing this itching? He has this when the disease first started, but once on Bactrim and Cipro, it stopped and never returned until he moved into this house about 9 months ago and his symptoms have gotten worse and worse. We no longer have contact with the doctor who was out of state that put him on this protocol in 05, but his current doctor continues it for some reason but does nothing else. He used to be my doctor, but he stopped seeing me over all this. Maybe because my son was in his early 20's when he got this from me that he had more compassion. If anyone can help, please do to help save my son's life. Thank You! I don't know what to do next.

Has he taken all carbs, sugar and dairy out of his diet then also do the salt/vit C, that should help almost immediatly. There is nothing that will help topically.

Thanks for answering headbee to such a serious situation. I ordered him some salt on the internet, should be here in a couple of days. I can get the Vit C at GNC here. I'll talk to him about the carbs. I know that was a problem for me a long time ago. He kept an apt with his doctor today in hopes he would do something for him. He told his Dr. the entire story and the Dr said sympathetically that my son had been sick to long and that he was going to help my son get well. My son had some hope until he picked up his meds that were supposed to be something to help him sleep. It was an antidepressant. It would have been better for him not to go to the doctor at all.

I just use pure canning salt with noting added. I bought at Wal-mart. What kind of fancy salt are you getting?? Let me know how it does. I liked the canning salt as it completely disolves, (tried organic but pure salt is pure) I warm the water then put in the salt and vit c. I have to do it about every 3 weeks for 2-3 days (but I am a female and mine are really in cycles)

It's a pink Himalayan salt, cost 10.00 for 7 oz. I read not to use table salt, so I went with this. I'll keep you posted on what happens when we get it.
I've been trying to find a doctor for him, but I only find staninger and Karjoo. These names have been around awhile, does anyone have any good reports from them? I know there isn't a cure, but when I hear that people are 90 percent better or more I would think my son could live with that. I tried the website for the charles E foundation but nothing about seeing patients. Any help there would be appreciated. Do people who get better do this on there own? Some protocols are so vague and complicated, I just can't figure out what to do. I have my own really bad brain fog. Used to read all the time, now I can't remember things or recall so complicated protocols overwhelm me but I'm going to go through some sent to me in my inbox. Thanks again.

Alot of people have had good results with the NAC and Vit C mari... and also with probiotics. I know a few people who used the Himalayan salt as well... and got very good results with it too. I myself am not taking anything anymore except for the Papaya Enzymes I mentyioned earlier in this thread. They seem to help tho... and of course peppermint oil which you can use on your skin and in your hair. There's also a new product called Skin Rescue that I like. You can look for the balm here... morgellonsfocusonhealth.com/skin_care_kitsI have a jar of it and used it on a bad bite our grandson got in between his toes when they were visiting in June. It immediately soothed it away and actually made it disappear within the hour! It's good stuff IMO... and created by a morgie too. But one thing I also have to suggest is for your son to start "rising above" this mess and putting all the negative thoughts out of his mind. I know it's easier said than done... but morgs feeds on stress, fear, anxiety, etc. What it doesn't feed on is positivity and love... so that's what he needs to focus on sweetie. Just try to get him there and out of the state of mind he's in now. He can do it... and so can you. I know you can... cuz if I did, I know others can too. That saying about the mind being a powerful thing is true in regards to morgellons... along with a powerful soul! big hugs ~~ bannanny
