I wanted to let you all know to keep a close eye on your banking transactions. We had $95 stolen from a our bank account & on our statement it says "Synaptic Marketing". We have NO connection with this company whatsoever. We have NEVER bought anything from them. The bank account they stole from is NEVER used to make purchases through the internet. We went into our bank. They said they have no idea who this company is, or how they accessed our bank account. They are referring our case on to the fraud squad & we will have to wait 3 - 4 weeks to have our $95 refunded. We learnt after doing an internet search of "Synaptic Marketing" that we're not the only ones this is happening too. This link is an example: tinyurl.com/3jphle8If I had my way I'd do away with the banks! under the mattress is looking pretty good!....oh maybe not since I just told you ;D itchin

Hi Itchen
That is awful. I sure hope the banks can get these people caught so they can not continue to harm people. I wonder if a site like Life Lock I hope I got the name right. If they would know how something like that could happen. I do not think I have the right name. Its a co that keeps all your info and money safe.

Sorry itchin... and I hope you get your moola back! It's a downright shame, some of the things that happen today. People hacking into this and that and even posting messages on NBC and other reputable sites that cause panic. Just like they did recently when NBC's twitter account was hacked into posting there was an attack on ground zero. Why people do these kinds of things I'll never know... I guess it's just the devil running rampant.
Anyhoo, thanks for the heads up... it's much appreciated!
love ya ~~ bannanny

Hi Lynn & Bannanny, I too hope we get the money back. I think knowing that people can do this sort of thing is the most un nerving of it all. Seems nothing is sacred anymore. You got that company name right Lynn I found them. This link explains what probably happened, they call it a "Data Breach" tinyurl.com/6bjgs9zI said to the other half yesterday I'm sure there are people who would say "oh $95 that's nothing, I just spent that on lunch"....but to us that money is a weeks worth of groceries. Anyway that bank account had to be shut down as it is too risky. I really hope it doesn't happen again! Love itchin p.s. for some reason that link keeps going to the home page, if you scroll down the page a little you will see the little box on the left with "Data Breach" click on that.

Itchin,
I'm sure sorry you're having to deal with that, and I sure hope they get it resolved quickly for you too. We had the same kind of thing happen (last year) .
I sure hope they get that straightened out for you fast, and I sure do feel badly for you because there's nothing worse than someone taking what's yours, no matter what the amount is.
